Great show, especially Dancing>Warehouse>Two Step! Even the encore wasnt bad, until you get home and see that it was supposed to be: Space between, Everyday, and then Thank you! Ugh. Two nights in a row cut short because of very late starts, apparently from drinking beforehand according to their tweets. They could've really "thanked" the fans and gone out with a bang since it's the last show like they usually do in wpb, to make up for the late start.
All in all, amazing weekend and I'm just happy that they are back!

My seat was in section 3 row k. I sat there for most of the show but during gaucho I met up with one of the guys from Friday night and he got me into the pit for the rest of the show which was amazing. I was right in front of Dave (3 people from rail) and I got my first Dave pick.

Second night and had great seats. Nearly got another drumstick. Highlights for me were the 3 song run of Dreaming Tree, Alligator Pie and Minarets. One of the best Dancing Nancies I've heard also and great version of Time Bomb. Band played til almost 11:30. Finished a great summer

Great main set. Nancies>warehouse and time bomb>two step were fantastic. Crowd was really in to it tonight. The encore definitely left a lot to be desired however. The band looked like they wanted to play one more, but Dave seemed to be ready for his 4 week break.

Great show! CAN'T STOP, wow it only takes six horns to do what Lerio did himself. Seriously that was siick, can we get the TOP horns to travel? Keyboards on If Only was nice too, seemed like old times. Sure miss the keys and strong horns. Band had great energy. Carter was incredible on Two Step! As usual, we didn't want the night to end!

I loved this show! Great energy from start to finish. Yeah, the encore wasn't the greatest...and the band got off to a late start, causing the setlist to be changed...but the energy put off by everyone on stage was incredibly high the whole night. The encore that was originally planned would've been better, but I was still so blown away from Two Step, that I didn't care what they played after that. Plus, the way I see it...and I'm sure many DMB fans will agree...this isn't my last concert, and I will see better shows with better encores. This one was good though...way up there on my list.

I thought tonight left much to be desired. The pace of the show was slow and just never picked up.
GIG was a good opener, not too common to open. I REALLY missed Roi, and how he used to lay down the smoothe grooves at the end, but it was still a good version.
Eh Hee was standard, I'm thinking they're getting warmed up.
DT - Awwwww, sheeee-it!! "Alright, we jammin'!" Yeah, get into the groove, kick dat Chocolate Rain remix!
Alligator - Eh, not my fav, but it did get me shakin' my booty.
R&R - I was surprised, Timmy makes this song SOOO... much better IMO.
If Only - "feelin' groovy". It's got a nice lil smoothe flow to it. The keys were nice. I love being able to really "listen" to the new songs, since the crowd doesn't really know em.
Funny - Nothing special, but atleast upbeat.
Can't Stop - Okay, when the Tower of Power horns came on stage, I was thinking Jimi. But we got Can't Stop. It's okay IMO, but once again, it's not gonna make me shake my booty, which is what I came for. Horn solo's were good, but nothing to write home about. Sounded solid at the end with everyone.
Water into Wine - Good lookin' out, Dave
Why I Am - "Still hear dancin' with the GruGrux King" makes me smile everytime. Otherwise, meh.
Gaucho - eh.
Nancies - Nice, Boyd held it together, crowd was LOVING it
WH - I was thinking and hoping. I've missed the WH woo's. Good version. They messed up a little at the beginning, but it was still good.
Now, I see Dave bust out the big 12 string, I'm thinking Grey St. I'm thinking they're gonna give us a nice little run to end the set. But Dave switches guitars and they start Time Bomb.
Time Bomb - Eh. Always good to hear Dave scream at the end
Two Step (Time Bomb intro) - We all knew this was coming with the intro after Time Bomb. Carter's sweet drum rolls at the end during the quiet parts are what make me smile.
Sister - Okay, no horns, no Boyd on the stage, I'm thinking Halloween. Nope, it's Sister. Nothing special about this version
Thank You - It was kind of short. Crowd wasn't participating much when it stopped, I thought and hoped they'd play something else. They were talking and there was a chance, but they just went back into Thank You. Then the crowd started singing and were feeling it a little more.
So, as I said. There was nothing really special about this show. The constant theme was "standard" or "good". DT was good to hear, as always. Minarets, yes, that too. Overall, it was a mellow night. Encore was subpar. Even if they would've played what the intended to on the setlist, the show would've been longer, but not much better.
It's never a "bad" time at DMB, but this wasn't great. I'd give it a "C". The rarity is misleading. If they play WAYG, IDI, Sleep to Dream Her, and Steady as We Go at the Gorge, that'll make it a pretty rare show, too, but that doesn't make it good.
Love my boys, but like your favorite sports team, they don't ALWAYS play as well as they should. Doesn't mean you love em any less

Great show overall. Finally got minarets and dreaming tree! Can't stop with all the horns was intense, and anyone who doesnt think so is wrong. :) I love time bomb->two step (even though I saw the same thing at rivers edge) As for the encore...yeah. I'm more than fine with sister, and thankfully the crowd shut up so I could hear it. But, thank you? It was my first time hearing it, and it was cool, but still a let down for n2 at wpb. Still, great show overall, and I had a great weekend!

Great show! Well up until the encore that is. Really should be 4.5 stars. Not sure exactly what we did wrong. Did we not scream out enough, not chant loud enough, not sing along enough? Don't get me wrong it's not a bad encore but for DMB standards it was a let down from what could have been. Main set though was unbelievable!! Nancies is my personal fave and was awesome especially going into Warehouse. Awesome night overall just wished it had a different ending...

As my new buddy that I met in the lots this afternoon said while we were enjoying a post-show beer and waiting for the lots to clear, "That was like drinking a tasty milkshake and finding a turd at the bottom of the glass."
This one had all the hallmarks of an epic show, and at the beginning, it seemed like Dave had tailor-made the setlist for my wish fulfillment purposes. Grace to lead it off was heavenly, and I'd been looking for it for 11 years, now, since the one previous time I'd seen it, almost 11 years to the day before, on 7.20.01. Dreaming Tree was wonderful, as always, and Alligator Pie finally started to approach the levels I thought it could get to when I first heard it (BT finally got a solo!).
Only real bump in the road during the main set was Can't Stop (although If Only didn't do much for me, either). Dave brought out all of the horn players from the opening act, which I skipped both nights, Whatever. He could have brought out 27 horn players (there must have been at least 6), and it's still Can't Stop and still sucks.
As crazy as it is to say, given how often they've used the transition, I'd never heard a Nancies segue into Warehouse before. Finally got it tonight, and it didn't disappoint.
What did, though, was the encore, and hence the first sentence of this review. I'm not saying that it was on a Hey Hey, My My > Bitch level, but it was pretty awful. Sister, me and everyone I know, we've heard it more than enough. Baby Blue would have worked fine, another solo version of Sweet, whatever. Anything would have been better. Ditto Thank You to close. I understand the sentiment, but I think Sly & The Family Stone wrote an awful lot of catchy pieces of shit. Anything would have been better, and the band even gave themselves an out to fix it: the performance of the song was fairly short, and they looked like they might pull something else out, and what they come up with was...a reprise of Thank You. I was furious. A Halloween > Billies would have put this one on the map for an all-time great. That encore kept it from getting that far.
All the same, had a blast for most of the night. Met some great folks in the lots and in the seats, as usual, and generally had a blast all night. Just wished it could have ended on a stronger note.
Great weekend, though, and I've met some truly great folks over the course of the last two days. It's one of the band traditions: the beauty of the music onstage that you share with everyone around. I hope that the venue lived up to its newfound "Destination Venue" tag for everyone who came several thousands of miles to see it, although I'll understand if it didn't. Those last 15 minutes left a pretty sour taste.

Solid main set,sad BEF was cut,the bands performance was top,its just too bad the boys didnt hit the stage ontime (drinking ?)..then they wouldnt have to cut songs.Maybe booze it up after the show ?
Encore was weak, but I dont think Everyday would have saved it,or Space Between even.Since this was the last gig of the summer (Gorge is a full 6 weeks away, with no gigs in August until the last day of the month) I thought a much longer, epic encore was on the horizon.Didnt happen.DT and Two Step were classic.

Epic Warehouse and Two-Step, but Thank You isn't my favorite closer and he closed in '08 or '09 with it in WPB, too. Always a little disorienting when a new album is about to drop, but overall a decent show, the new stuff sounded good. Just not up to the typical WPB standard, IMHO.

This was a great show. We can all chip in about what we might have done differently with the encore. Doesn't matter. This was a great show. From the moment they attacked Grace through the Two Step end even Thank You, there was an energy and purpose. This was a rock and roll night (with Dreaming Tree thrown in!) not to be denied. Awesome setlist. If Only (with Roger) sounded better than it did in Tampa. Can't Stop with TOP Horns a great treat! I thought they had a very strong show in Dallas, TX from start to finish, but they showed me at this show what they are capable of and I'm grateful I had the chance to attend. Great venue, too. I wish all DMB fans can get a show like this one at least once. All is forgiven for the clunker first show on Friday!

Now I love this band, and I am more than grateful for them to be touring AT ALL, but this show and Friday's started too late. DMB knows cruzan has a strict curfew (11pm) so WHY wait until almost 8:45 both nights to start? Apparently they were all drinking and partying backstage, which is more than cool. I get it..I really do. But they haven't played in WPB in 2 years, so you think they'd put on a nice long show. Now I know it may sound like I'm complaining but bear with me. The first set before the encore was a 5 star show. Simply stellar. I don't care what ANYBODY says; Can't Stop is a fabulous tune and was absolutely on fire. If Only with Roger Smith on the keys was sensational. Rhyme and Reason, Dreaming Tree, Nancies, Warehouse, an INCREDIBLE Two Step....all components of a 5 star show. But with the first set ending at literally 11 pm on the dot, I started to become worried about the dreadful 1 song encore. So he comes back out and I was completely expecting Space Between. Sister it is. Alright, whatever, it's short and sweet. But then, I started getting butterflies in my stomach. I knew something good was going to come. Maybe So Right into Pig or Everday into Halloween. It's night 2. At Cruzan. Last show before a month and a half break. The band takes their time concocting up a song after Sister, and I was, along with the crowd, getting extremely excited. THEN, the bass line of Thank You. No panic at first, I thought there was no way they would end with that. Thank You is cool I guess, but to end a show like that with this song is beyond me. And a really short version of it at that. The entire encore couldn't have been 10 minutes of playing time. After they played it, the crowd ERUPTED louder than I heard all night. Not because we loved the song that much, but because they were BEGGING for another. Something to really make us all smile. Maybe a minute goes by, and we get Thank You....again. For about a minute. It was just....dare I say....disappointing. I realize I'm just spoiled with all of the other great encores I've seen and I realize I should be lucky to even see this band when others around the world cannot. But the fact is is that I paid money to see a stellar show and it's really all I can expect. Just had to get this off my chest!

Whatever you may think of the setlist when you read it, the show was great, top to bottom (except for the encore). The entire band of Tower of Power came out for Can't Stop, and turned a shitty song into an experience. I will be downloading this just for that song...oh, and for the amazing Nancies and Two Step.

As many have already stated, this was a really strong show with the most disappointing encore I have ever heard. Dreaming Tree was awesome. Can't Stop with TOP horns was killer! Really strong ending with Nancies> Warehouse and then Time Bomb into Two Step. This one probably the best Two Step I have heard live. Carter was tearing it up. Encore was just a major disappointment. Good crowd, nice energy. Sound was better than in Tampa.

I don't know if night 1 just spoiled me or what, but this show, while good and fun, didn't grab me like N1 did. I'm not a huge can of Can't Stop, but that was by far the best one I've heard. Honestly, had the encore been stronger, I would probably feel better about it, but despite some really great songs played (and good versions of those songs... 2 Step was GREAT!) when all was said and done, I just kinda felt like "eh, okay then..."
