I think DMB has better incorporated their new sound (that is with Rashawn/trumpet and Jeff/horns) than they had when I last saw them in 2010. This was a great show--with two of my favorite songs (Warehouse and Grey Street) and I also dug how they incorporated the new stuff with the old stuff.

What a great night, started out with a ton of energy, Big eyed Fish into bartender was amazing! Nancies into Warehouse was also incredible.
There was a mid set lull after that but I'd like to note that the outro for mercy with Dave on the piano was a highlight for me. Somthing about it felt like old school Dave, and jeffs simple horn part made me really miss Roi,
After the lull things picked back up with Grey Street and DDTW, but a rediculous storm cut short the encore, even if it was ants. Probs to the guys sticking it out tho, the crew was already breaking stuff down to beat the weather but they came right back out after they were probably told thats it and at least gave us one more song. Storm kinda killed the vibe at the end but overall a decent show

It was a Hot hot day as the month of June comes to a close, always an exciting Friday driving up from Northern VA when DMB closes the night at Hershey Park. Today was my 5th show at the venue, arrived in the lots around 6 or so and as the heat of the day faded away, a nice sunset swept over central Pennsylvania. There was new grass on the field at Hershey, enjoyed that surface over the white rubber that normally is on the field. The show started around 820 or so, Ehh Hee- This one has showed up all tour in the early slots, enough please…ho hum opener and song that is grossly overplayed. Seven-Sadly this one is overplayed even more, not sure how this show could have begun any worse, bad memories already creeping in on a bad Bristow show two weeks ago. Seven has been overplayed since BW was born; please shelve this one. Big Eyed Fish- the show can began now, a wrenching, touching, heart tugging version of the song, I love the Dave scream/indian chant at the end, thank-you for answering on what was really the only song I wanted to hear tonight. Bartender-Big version here, lots of energy. Stay or Leave- Possibly the highlight of the night here, a sound, crisp, patient version on the bill, great placement in the 5th spot. A reflective, moving song. MONKEY SHAKE- high high energy, loved it. Crush- ugggh, enough of this one…. come on. of note Boyd shines big on this crush, as he did the whole night The Riff- I love hearing new songs, thank-you, can play everytime, look forward to jumping intot his one more. You & Me- Crowd seems to just love this one, AWFUL, enough…this song is a joke, and yes I plugged my ears…Why why why…. Shotgun- Bringing back 06 and the tease from 09…thank-you! Wonderful to hear this , crowd around me seemed stunned & lost when the band started, had no idea what it was “new song” ….Thoroughly enjoyed this version though, passionate, dark and much needed in the set. Nancies- Excellent, energy, Boyd just tears this up, southern Dmb back roads VA style shinning through north of the mason dixon line… thank-you for moving right into WH Warehouse- Lovely, jubilant, joy MERCY- a slow, sweet song, with lots of thoughts about life, loved ones, and how lucky we are to to be alive; Mercy is the heartbeat of the 2012 tour. Out of My Hands- Gravely dark and slow, death bed, haunting, creepy, the trenches…I don’t mind it, but Dave could always throw in another Piano song, already too predciatble of a combo with Mercy. Why I Am- much needed pick-up again, loved it. Grey St- Joy, bliss, and all that’s in between, lotsa people gettting down, all track of time and place is lost for the 6 minutes on Grey DDTW- Did this have something to do with the storm coming? DDTW not really working here at all, this show was in need of something bigger, and then you find out it is the closer…uggh E – ANTS Boyd tears it up, southern style dance like scarecrow energy. Recap- The impending storm cuts this show short. That unfortuanntly has an even more negative effect on the takeaway from Hershey 2012….Probably the only show I have seen with-out a song from the Crash album, This show starts really poor outta the gate, picks up from BEF to Monkey, then falls back in a serious lull, luckly throwing in Nancies> warehouse along with Grey ST for it just to save face. All tour I have noticed a majority of the shows are lacking energy and setlist creativity. I will never understand a band with a catlog like DMB’s that continusouly play, crush, You/me, seven, ehh hee, ddtw, shake me EVERY show, when they know many fans travel to multiple shows a tour…. people sorta just drift off and really loose the desire to want to see more..At nearly $100 for a ticket and all the travel costs, a sane mind would question if tonights show were even worth it.

What could've been the hottest show of the tour was cut short by some beautiful but untimely lightning... the sound at Hershey is horrific, crowded and the facility is not capable of handling a show of this capacity and played a huge roll in limiting the effectiveness of the band's glory!

First time at Hershey, Love it! I thought the bands energy was great considering the heat. I felt like Dave sang everything passionately. The lightning show at the end was exciting but it kept the band from giving us at least two more songs. Running along side the tour busses at the end of the night. Waving to Rashawn and Jeff was a real highlight!! I was blessed and happy to be there with great friends.

The show was so-so - which is a shame b/c I only see one show a year now. The energy of the show was off - too many slower songs. And the show was cut short (which cost me a Typical, Pig and Rapunzel) - I know it's not the bands fault, but I feel like I missed out. Better luck next year.

Very hot day. Every fan was in shorts (guys) or shorts/dresses (girls). But the band was in jeans as always, but brought tons of energy in spite of the heat. Boyd and Stefan, in particular, were on fire throughout the show. Big Eyed Fish > Bartender was a great duo. And Boyd crushed Crush. Both of the new tunes (Mercy and Riff) were very very nice. Liked the jam...it will be interesting to see where it goes. Mother Nature's fireworks certainly shortened the show, but it also made it memorable...certainly not a good reason for the naysayers out there to ding what was a great show from the band.

To simply put it, Boyd made this show a 5. He played the best I've ever heard him play. Talk about stepping up and delivering a hell of a night! Crush and Nancies were just two of the highlights of the evening. His parts on The Riff sound outstanding and he really mixed up how he soloed. Great show and his playing alone, along with a great performance by the band, deserves a 5.

So I went to Jiffy Lube, Camden n2, and Hershey. I might as well just flushed that money down the toilet. All three shows were basically exactly the same.. same songs, same closers, same openers. What has happened to this band. Eh hee, Cornbread, Seven, Out of my Hands specifically have to be shelved as they are overplayed. Mercy is a crowd killer already. I really loved the BEF into Bartender.. that was explosive and awesome. The new song The Riff is really growing on me and LOVE it. But overall, I'm quite disappointed at the lack of variety at the shows lately.. there are obvious songs they keep playing that you could tell the crowd just doesn't want to hear.

Ok setlist at best. Shotgun, Mercy, and Nancies into WH were the highlights for me. Crowd was terrible today, especially section 7. I've NEVER before sat in a worse section in my 27 DMB concerts. In general the heat must have gotten to the crowd, because there was ZERO energy. The band executed well and tried hard, but I think the heat was getting to them too with a 1 song encore. The main set was 2 hours exactly. Pretty disappointing show all around.

Just slightly better than Bristow. If you're like me and just went to Hershey and Bristow, yikes. I was immediately deflated by the Eh Hee opener. What a bad song (and it's 2nd most played this tour). You and Me was terrible, and Out of My Hands is the worst live song they could play. To see Typical, Pig, and Rapunzel cut so they could play this other garbage tells me this band doesn't quite have their finger on the pulse of what fans want to hear. On the bright side, Bartender, Crush, Nancies>Warehouse were highlights. The Crush end jam may have been the best I've ever seen.

THE EPIC SHOW THAT ALMOST WAS...
For my 50th show I was fortunate to get the VIP tix. The VIP section next to the sound booth was palatial. I don't know where all the other VIP ticket holders were, but for the eight of us in there, we sure had a lot of elbow room. I thought the energy was great and the band sounded awesome, but how disappointing that they repeated nine songs from my last show at VA Beach. Judging from the rest of the reviews it sounds like the Camden folks were also a little bummed. But here's the even more painful part: my buddy got the set list from the camera man right next to us. Here's the concert we would have had if the storm didn't roll through:
EEH HEE
SEVEN
BIG EYED FISH
BARTENDER
STAY OR LEAVE
SHAKE ME
CRUSH
THE RIFF
YOU AND ME
SHOTGUN
NANCIES
WAREHOUSE
MERCY
OUT OF MY HANDS
WHY I AM
TYPICAL
GREY STREET
DDTW
PIG
RAPUNZEL
