I was somehow able to sneak past one of the guards and have INCREDIBLE balcony suite seats! I wasn't able to get a poster for N2, so I had my friends drop me off super early to wait in line for a poster; I ended up being the first person to get a poster (not to mention, it is my favorite poster). I have always been a fan of The Long Black Veil cover, so that was exciting. The #40 tease was also a rarity. The encore was probably one of the craziest back and forth encores I've ever seen since this show was in Dave's hometown and the last show of the fall. After seeing these shows, Charlottesville has become my favorite place to see DMB shows!

I'll give it a 4 just because of the encore alone. That being said the encore was barely able to salvage such a mediocre set. Every time I thought it was going to take off and be special dave would bring me back down with eh hee, cant stop or diggin a ditch.. Not to mention that horrendous opening run. Where was the stone, pig, bowa??... All in all though great experience and a great crowd combined with unreal emotion from the band made the concert great.

The best DMB show I have ever seen. The energy was incredible, the jams went on forever, and the setlist was as close to perfect as it can get. The whole weekend in C'ville was absolutely perfect - couldn't have asked for better weather and hospitality on my first trip there! That show will hold me over till 2012 I hope... simply amazing. So glad I was lucky enough to go!

The run of YMDT all the way to LIHOG had me thinking live release and that it would be a fan friendly/BW heavy set (minus Say Goodbye and R&R). The show absolutely flipped starting with TSTJL. Incredible!!! I'm so glad I finally got to hear that. I started off hating the slow intro into What You Are, but it grew on me as it kept going. I couldn't believe they played Long Black Veil (although I wasn't a huge fan of the version but I'll take it!). That encore was unbelievable. Many of us thought that Ants would end the show, but I wouldn't have been surprised by Last Stop. #40 was a tease of a tease (killing me Dave!). The second half of the encore was incredible, Boyd went nuts!

Great weekend in C-Ville, where it all began. Knocked a bunch of songs off of my list. See you again in 2012!

This wasn't the best show I've seen (12/21/02 takes that honor) but this show certainly featured the best run of songs as well as the best encore I've seen (and the best the band has ever played). Long Black Veil was the biggest surprise of the weekend and pretty much made my year.

wow... this was everything and more that I imagined it to be. My 13th show and sixth in the last two years.

Firsts for me:
1.Digging a Ditch - amazingly pretty and powerful
2.The Song that Jane Likes - this is the first song that really made me LOVE the Dave Matthews Band, and hearing it on the last show was really special. I went nuts when he started saying, "I got a little sister named Jane, and this is the song that Jane likes."
3.Write a song - Wow... simply awesome! I love this song and it was a nice surprise.
4.Long Black Veil - I was in disbelief when Dave started up this song. such a great cover, loved every second of it.
5. THE LAST STOP!!! - This is my favorite song ever written, EVER. I have been patiently watching every setlist this fall season to see what my chances were to hear it. It was even better than any recording I have ever heard of it. So powerful, so intense. Almost brought me to tears.

Notes:
Rhyme & Reason was soooo sick with Lawlor. Can't Stop was surprising sick as all hell. The best 'Two Step' I have ever heard. EVER. and i have heard some great ones. Carter went off the charts. Breath-taking!
The surprise second encore of Ants Marching solidified this as the best show I have ever seen. It was so fitting that they went out on this song.

I'm gonna miss you guys... stay safe and I'll see you in 2012.

After night one couldnt imagine how this could be better. By far the longest show I have ever seen, some of the best jams I have heard and everything I would have wanted to hear, setlist was phenomenal, long black veil, what u are, two step, #40, Last Stop and another encore song, ridiculously unbeleivable, another reminder of why I love this band. Cannot wait till 2012!

They went after many tunes tonight. Pulling out the stops and at the same time seeming not fully there because what I figure were mixed emotions of the end of an era. They will come back, but it will not be the same. That does not mean it will be bad. It just means it will not be the same.
Loved being a part of this time through and this Last Stop!

This show was incredible. The best show EVER! It was a 3.5 hour set (longest concert ive been to) where they played some pretty common songs and yet some pretty rare songs (cough cough) The Last Stop. I also loved Song That Jane Likes and What You Are!! Two Step was on fire as usual (i never get tired of that). I loved the Too Much Teases and then segue into Ants Marching. I anticipated that to be the last cause well its there \"theme\". I don't know why overall fellow ants members are not giving it 5/5 when this clearly is the greatest show they have put on ever!

Unbelievable. Fantastic. Epic.

Positives:
the jams, the energy, the surprises, the encore of awesome, the really great fans I met waiting in line, especially Hermano and his family who gave us their extra passes to the Tip Top Club for free drinks.

Negatives:
The 10 people in front of me and the 10 people behind me who chose to sit most of the show. Bad form! Just because we were up in 308 didn't mean we weren't there to dance and sing. Ugh.
Wanted BOWA since I had not heard it since '05 at Red Rocks.

hat a way to go out! I waited all day on the WH GA line and it was so worth it! Got the front rail on Tim and Boyd's side and then watched one of the most memorable shows of the 97 I have seen. I believe this was the longest show the band ever played. Their energy was fantastic throughout. Lawlor's performance on Rhyme and Reason was a big highlight as was the incredible encore. Got a guitar pick and a pair of sticks handed personally from Dave and Carter respectively. Got a set list. Could the night have been any better? I think not! Thanks guys, see you in 2012!

Absolutely electric, I think the band felt like this was it for a couple of years and they were going to leave it all out there on the stage and it showed. I'm going to miss these guys terribly but hope they enjoy their much deserved break.

R&R, Say Goodbye, Digging a Ditch, Long Black Veil, What You Are, The Song That Jane Likes, Two Step, The Last Stop, I mean, c'mon, it was just unreal. Two Step really took it to another level. The double encore felt so right, and to end the show with Ants... Beautiful.

A great way to end the year. Amazing show. Maybe I expected too much from the night before but I thought this set didnt flow as well. Set started off kinda slow with satelite and proudest monkey but got better after that. The encore made this a 5 star show with Granny, Last Stop, and a second encore of ASTB into Ants Marching. This show will go down in history as the greatest DMB show EVER!!!! The band knew that this was gonna be their last show for a while. The end of an era. The crowd knew, but that did not let the energy die. For 3 hours and 32 minutes the band played their hearts out to a sold out hometown crowd, playing all of their best. This was truly a show for the diehards, and if this isn't released as a live release (make that a 2 night box set) then they must be crazier than the crowd was.

Onto the actual set. They were just on fire!!! Opened with a killer YMDT. Another beautiful Monkey>Satellite combo. Say Goodbye was amazing. I love that song so much!!! FTWII was also very enjoyable. Rhyme and Reason with Joe was unforgettable. That was just insane!!! The set had hit no down points yet. Eh Hee kept the energy rolling. I was just amazed by this point. Then Stefan started doin' a bass solo, and Crush was to follow. I was screamin' my head off. I was probably the only girl in the crowd that wasn't drunk (cause I'm 15 lol) but I was probably the most wild as well hehehe. Can't Stop is a good tune. I think that brought down the energy a bit, but I think the set was just getting TOO awesome. But I really like that song, but then Carter started up a drum solo and I knew Cornbread was coming. Trombone came out and blew the roof off the JPJA. I thought I was dreaming. The energy was incredible. The band finally calmed down with Digging a Ditch. A very pretty song. Then they did LITHOG. I love that song. My fav off of BW, but as I mentioned in my N. Charleston review, the extended sax solo just takes away from it. Not a song that needs a never ending jam. But then something amazing happened. Dave uttered the words "I have a sister named Jane, and this is the song that Jane likes" and the crowd went bonkers!!! Write a Song is really good. It has grown on me for sure. Why I Am was as good as ever. Dancing Nancies was fantastic, and then they went into LONG BLACK VEIL!!!! That came out of nowhere. Very beautiful cover song. I knew I was dreaming at this point. The show was just too awesome. I'm really digging the new What You Are intro. Really jazzy. Two Step was insane. Carter was a madman!!! But please Dave, don't bring back the Time Bomb interpolation in the intro. We miss the improv lyrics!!!!

The encore was a separate show in itself. Just these songs alone would have made my ticket more than worth the money. Some Devil was beautiful. I love it. And then the place went wild when they played Granny!!! Wasn't expecting that. At that point I didn't think they would play Last Stop. There was no way that the show could be so amazing. I had only heard the song once in Woodlands earlier this year, but it was with a weak crowd that pretty much didn't know the song and that ruined it for me. After a quick #40 tease (come on Dave don't mess with us!!!), LAST F%CKING STOP!!!!! What better way to end the tour??? The crowd went nuts. The band started walking off stage, getting ready to reflect on the past 2 decades.

But wait, it ain't over yet!!! The crowd was chanting "ONE MORE SONG!" The band returned to position. They did the Too Much intro, and then ASTB, then the Too Much tease again into Ants Marching!!! Now that is how you end a show. Ants is always a perfect show closer. My 31st time hearing that song after 62 shows, and I never get tired of it!!!!!

Well, after the TS&NOA set, and the 3 1/2 hour DMB set, standing on the floor just a few feet from the stage, and having stood on the floor near the stage in Atlanta, N Charleston and last night's show, not to mention I went to the Jefferson Theatre parties as well, I am very tired. I didn't get much sleep this week at all. My legs are extremely sore from all the standing. My back hurts. My dad had to carry me out of the arena lol. I'll probably be deaf for a few days, but IT WAS DAMN WORTH IT!!!!!!!!

Oh, and btw, I ain't done yet. D&T both shows in Vegas baby!!!

Band knew how to make everybody happy and the crowd provided the energy needed to make the arena blow up. Loved every bit of this concert, What You Are Intro was interesting and enjoyable as the crowd started the Wilson chant. Other Highlights were definately Lying in the Hands of God, Crush, and Of Course an unbelievable Two Step. Dave made everyone know how much he loves what he does while he ended a spectacular show with an unforgettable double encore. Last Stop had the entire place jumpin and Ants topped it off really well. Highlights were Crush, Long Black Veil(completely suprised me to hear it!), What You Are, Last Stop, and Ants. Can't wait for 2012!

Closer to a 4.5 but I went with 4. The set was uneven and not as strong as N1 for me but, man, did it turn around late in the set, especially with that encore! 3 hours of music; unreal!!!

The memory I'll always love is the crowd chanting "one more song" when Last Stop ended. Boyd and Tim were gone, Dave handed his guitar off, and Rashawn started taking out his earpieces. Carter was hitting the symbols to the timing of "one more song" and kept Dave on the stage. Next thing you know, Boyd and Tim are back, Rashawn's putting his ear pieces in, and the guitar tech was standing with a 6 string. Magic! It looked like the band was having a blast and this is my new difining DMB memory!

Absolutely amazing show for DMB. This show will surely make it into some form of Live Trax. How could it not almost reaching 4 hours of playing time?

By far the best show I have been to, the encore just kept coming and ultimately led to the most well deserved and appropriate Warehouse I have heard. The atmosphere in Charlottesville was amazing and you could feel Dave and the band just did not want to leave the stage, what a homecoming. My favorite show by far, much deserving of a live trax release!!
