Wow, what a great show. Dave's energy was off the charts. He was into every song and hitting every high note he attempted. The set list had its ups and downs, but was very good overall. Finally got The Stone, and it was everything I expected! Unbelievable! Warehouse was great with the UTTAD intro, which I had never heard before. OSW was amazing, especially Rashawn's solo in the intro, and Seek up was a huge surprise. The set kind of fell off a cliff after that, but not too badly. Proudest Monkey was nice and Squirm was extremely powerful. The set jumped back up again with a great Nancies, Stay, and the best Two Step I have ever heard. I don't know what that jam was at the end, but it was one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. You really had to be there to understand why everyone is raving about this Two Step. If it weren't for the encore, I'd have given this show 5-stars. The encore disappointed me. Some Devil was nice to hear, but Shake Me was unnecessary in that spot, especially after finding out that So Right was supposed to be there instead!!! I will wonder for a long time why they decided to play Shake Me instead of So Right. Watchtower was fine, but IMO it's a little stale and very predictable, and yet again I didn't get the Stairway interpolation I had been dying to hear. Oh well. All in all a great show, definitely in my top 5.

Opened with the Stone and I thought 'oh boy this is shaping up to be an excellent show!' It was then that the show took a turn in an undesirable direction. I do like the fresh Warehouse intro but didn't enjoy the song as much as I could because of the 100,000 completely miserable fans who were walking past during the first several songs. It was a tight fit up there in the GA section. There were dangerously overweight people, drunk people, and horrifically odorous people, among others. Overall, a great mix of songs - but I always hope for so called rarities that never seem to materialize. I liked all the new songs, and I even enjoyed You Might Die Trying, mostly because of Stefan's macho stage presence. We were very honored to have the #1 Proudest Monkey Fan in the audience last night. She was wearing a shirt that identified her as "Dave's Proudest MONKEY." There was this one Casanova who kept trying to 'dance' with this girl (who must have been coked out of her mind). I wonder if they made it that night. On the plus side, my friend Alex got a really nice close up picture of Dave. Unfortunately, it was me Dave, not Dave Matthews. Let's not forget about the Zack Morris Band that opened the show. How bad did that guy want to be Jack Black? I was hoping that they would play 'Friends Forever.'

The stone, warehouse, OSW, seek up definitely the highlights for me. Been to a couple shows this summer, this being the last. Pretty much saw two step at every one so was hoping they'd switch it up. However, the best two step I've ever seen it was unbelievable. Decent/predictable encore. Too many misplaced slow songs, needed something big instead of spaceman/gravedigger/satellite. Excellent show, but not 5 stars.

Very strong show, good setlist, good energy. Nice to see them bring Seek Up into the mix. Carter outdid himself on his Two Step solo.

The disappointment for me was I believed they were going to make this an epic show (maybe just wishful thinking on my part) and it fell short of that. Mixing in one or two more classics that they haven't been playing much or at all on the tour could have taken it to the next level. But still gets a strong 4 rating from me, would give it a little higher if I could, but it wasn't a 5.

Just got back from the show. Lots of ups and downs for me, but in the end, a solid 4 stars and (this sounds so--- cliche, but) the best Two Step I have ever heard. Ok. here goes...

Stone opener. Perfect - was hoping for this and they delivered. Crowd sings the wise men outro, Dave does not - still cool though. Next up...Warehouse. Sweet. Well played and lots of energy. As the intro for OSW begins, I begin to think this may line up to be an epic show...

I felt a Whiskey song was in store at this point, and I was right. However, I cant complain with FTWII taking that spot. Seek Up. Obviously a highlight of the show. Big surprise here. Well done, but Jeff/Rashawn cant play it like Leroi. After these first 4, I am almost certain this may be an epic NYC show...

This is where it gets complicated. The next chunk of songs are as follows:

Seven
Squirm
Crash Into Me
You Might Die Trying
Proudest Monkey
Satellite
Spaceman

Some may dig that run, others may not - I'm in the later group. Dont get me wrong, Crash was fun, YMDT was jammed out nice and Proudest was fun also. Overall though, not really the run of songs for an "epic" show....at least for me.

Nancies rocked. The Gravedigger drum intro had me confused - I could have sworn that was my Say Goodbye...nope! Ok, so now let me cut to the chase - TWO STEP. What was that jam in the end? Is that how they been playing it this tour? That electric/rock/almost techno-ish thing was so nuts. Really blew me away. I have not been that excited during a DMB song in a long while.

Don't really got much to say about the encore. No need for Shake Me in there, and they play Watchtower every time they come to NY. Not the best Watchtowwer I heard, but it was good. Predicted ending, but was still on a high from Two Step - so it was swell.

Overall - 4 stars. There appears to have been better shows this tour (at least on paper. Seek Up, OSW, Two Step and The Stone made the night for me. Wished I heard LIOG and Say Goodbye. Next time. Glad I did the 2 show run.

Oh yeah - Download this Two Step.

Great set list Seek Up Proudest Monkey YMDT has quickly become one of my favorite live songs Two Step with the Time Bomb intro and a crazy new outro The band was as good as theyve ever been Rashawn and Jeff were on fire The stadium was not that great for a concert No good seats in the house except for GA Floor Considering it was 90 degrees and humid Im glad I wasnt down there though Also a lot of disinterested people in the stands Lots of chatter going on during the performance Could hear full conversations around me rather than the music

User: jln5054

The Stone opener was absolutely incredible!!! The first five songs of the show seemed destined to be epic show material but the energy and song quality kind of fizzled a bit with the big whiskey stuff although the band sounded as tight and into it as ever. YMDT was a highlight with great energy and i loved Stay not as a closer.

Two Step deserves it own description because it was insane. The outro/jam was the best I have ever heard and it got the whole crowd pumped for an epic encore.

Unfortunately the encore did not live up to the energy. You could hear the entire crowd (at the very least entire upper deck) groan after the first chord of Some Devil. Shake Me was cool as always but its not encore worthy. Watchtower was great as usual but I have seen it sooo many times! Can they please end a show with Rapunzel!!!!!!!!

Really cool venue! Touche Mets.

Although for this long time fan the show was not "classic," the band played a perfect set for the mixed crowd tonight. My section (109) was more into the newer material, whereas most of us Ants wanted older songs. There was something for everyone. The band clearly had a great time playing at Citifield, and Dave had a lot of fun talking about the Nacho Grande sign on the first level. Delicious!

Clearly one of the best shows I've seen! The band was on it and the audience was way into it. Stay was fantastic, Two Step was unbelievable, Carter's solo kicked ass and Watchtower was a great encore. CitiField was a cool venue, too. Outdoor shows always win in my book. Sound was great, too. WIN!

Definitely ranks up in my top ten shows, reminiscent of Central Park and SPAC N2 2008. This show deserves to earn a solid 4.5 average rating!!!
The setlist was like a greatest hits of my favourite concert songs, sans #41 and Jimi from N1 (and The Maker). Plus I thought the energy was off the frikkin hook. There was a brief energy lull in the middle of the set, but I really think that was necessary for people to cool off and get something to drink... a lot of people were blown away by the music, and the heat/humidity made us feel a bit overwhelmed at times. I need to revise this, but I had to make something before I leave for work...

Better than N1 but I was expecting greatness after the first 5 songs and it fell a bit short. Wish Gravedigger had really been Say Goodbye. I thought for sure the closer would be Halloween, not Watchtower. Do not miss the Two Step from this show, it was incredible!

Best Two Step ever! Carter is a God!

Favourite show to date! I'm thinking some sort of Live Release is in the making. Dave was incredibly ON tonight and loving every second of it, and I saw lots of cameras both nights.

First 5 songs felt almost too good to be true!!
Stone opener is sweeeeeet, didn't sing Fools Rush In outro though :(
Warehouse Passion Intro - Can't believe I heard that! Had no idea he'd brought that back, wow!!!
One Sweet World is always a treat, especially with the old intro, love it!
Seek Up was a huge, but wonderful, surprise that was only brought down by most of my section talking or sitting, I couldn't believe so few people around me knew it! Wish I woulda been on the field tonight!

Thought we were getting Say Goodbye for sure, and then into Gravedigger, which was solid as usual. The improv jam (Black Jack?) was pretty cool actually, can't wait to get a second listen. With how good the night was going, I knew they wouldn't close that set with Stay, which was very long and powerful...as soon as it ended and you could tell they weren't done yet, it was pretty obvious that Two Step was due (5th show this tour - 1st time! THANK YOU DMB!!!)
Boyd took position and Dave turned to him and off they went, blew my mind. Jam was the best I've ever heard by far. Carter was a machine back there I tell you!! As much as I can't wait for the recording, you really had to be there to see this Two Step; hope we get a video release!

Encore was pretty standard, but very solid. As much as I hoped for a Last Stop or Halloween, I was pretty sure they weren't coming :(, doesn't hurt to chant it a few times though; psych 'em up for Wrigley!!! He's gotta play Last Stop there, right?? Only 2 BTCS songs I've yet to hear!!

Hoping for a Fall/Winter tour as Wrigley isn't 100% although I'm dying to go!!

Great experience in NYC at Citi Field; happy I made the trek from Toronto!
And out of all the Dave concerts I've seen, would you believe I finally decided to buy my first poster tonight before the show - pretty stoked!

side note: first time I've even heard of the Zac Brown Band, and I have to say their music is pretty damn good. Lots of a catchy songs, solid covers, and good jamming; great fiddle player too! I don't know how Zac was wearing a tuque on stage tonight, damn!

What a great time @ Citi!!!!

The guys had some SERIOUS energy tonight! As every other post says, Two Step was freaking RIDICULOUS! Best jam I have ever heard. It was nice to hear some BW songs since the show I saw last year only featured 3 but at the same time, it would have been great to have more older stuff. Was waiting for that epic moment. Also thought that they were going to tease Watchtower into Halloween. But either way, the show was ridiculous and getting Seek Up, The Stone, OSW, Two Step, Nancies, and Warehouse (with the original intro) made for a memorable night with my dad! See y'all in Charlotte on Wednesday!
