This was my 2nd DMB show at Blossom. This year not only were my seats way better, I thought the performance was too! #41 with it's drum/sax solo was my favorite of the night. I thought the encore was very unique. It started with Dave sitting and talking about what his thoughts were of Little Red Bird. It built into a frenzy with everyone singing thank you!

this was the 16th show ive been to, and i think it was the best ive seen yet. Starting off with big eyed fish was awesome, and then going into grace is gone and stay or leave was great...hearing recently was awesome too, havent heard that in a while, and this was my first time hearing warehouse live. some people didnt like the encore, but i thought it was really good. LRB and then so right was unbelievable. And of course, loved dave going nuts during SDL

The show was even better than last year's Blossom show. Grace is Gone was the best version that I have ever heard. Nancies to Whs. was special as I have not heard the 2 together in years. No woo's as there was not the clear stopages even though Stephan tried to get them going. The band and crowd had great energy and the set selection was outstanding. Did not see many of the selections coming. Can't wait for Alpine

First time hearing "Recently" for me and it was amazing! "Can't Stop" was also a highlight. Watching Dave dance with the audience given sun glasses while we all sang "Thank You" was a special memory. Disappointed in the crowd for the 2nd year and my friends said the people on the lawn we're horrible and not paying attention at all. See you in PGH!

Good show overall, but Daves voice was HIT after warehouse. He could barely sing.

Went to Columbus and Clarkston and both were better shows that this one because the energy was way higher at those shows.

Can't stop is evolving a bit and sounds wayy cooler now!

BEF > Grace is gone was a suprise!

The new Stand Up > Corn > Recently is really cool. Was better at DTE because the crowd knew recently. Lawn was weak at blossom. Have to listen to both to tell which is musically better.

So Right is always a great song, but it wasnt as intense as it could because you could tell they were trudging through it with daves voice. So damn Lucky with Thank you outro was a really good idea and I like it better than them just playing THANK YOU.

Blossom Lawn is horrible, the warehouse section was taken over by FRATLIKE drunk douchebags. I had to save 3 girls lives. I would rec commend pavilion for all future blossom endeavors. Hard to see the stage on blossom lawn, and the sound is not good.

I hit the right two one-night stands... finally when they started cooking and not treating this tour like the Groo Tour Part 2. DTE and Blossom have the best encores thus far! Unbelievable crowd in that pavilion at cuyahoga. Haven't been here since 06 where I had front row. Even being near the back of the pavilion, I enjoyed this show more than 06, with my fave song closing the show in rare fashion... that fkin jam soared during the "thank you" ending. It felt like a farewell moment, and think SDL should end more shows. That was very epic, with the crowd worked into a frenzy. Definite highlight in my 36 shows. LET'S GO ALPINE! =)

I can't believe that this isn't a five star show! I was in the pavilion and it was my 18th show since 2004. I have never seen so much energy from the crowd or the band...

It was my 4th concert last week, indy, columbus and blossom...it was amazing. This ended a great week of shows.

At first I didn't want to hear BEF as an opener, but that song is awesome live and it took me about 2 seconds to get into it.

Grace was great, seven and stay or leave..I was having a blast already...seven is a new favorite for me and the DDTW was unbelievable...the this land is your land....i've wanted to hear live and got it...
into...41, LOVE IT....Jeff Coffin is amazing.
The crowd on Dancing Nancies and Ants had so much energy...so fun.

3 songs for the encore...WE were So Damn Lucky!!!! Ending with the crazy thank you....Thank YOU DMB.

Hands down the best Blossom show yet, and definitely the best DMB concert I have ever seen. I have never seen a crowd as into the music as I have tonight. There were points in the set where the crowd cheering was as thundering as a carter solo. I understand that a few parts of the set do not look good on paper, however I have never seen Dave and the rest of the band feed off crowd energy as much as tonight and that makes each song pop that much more.

Also, the event poster for this concert was the best I have ever seen. It was a horizontal longer poster than usual and it was a print of a record player on a shelf with two speakers on either side. The speakers had fire dancers and Ohio outlines on them along with the shelf containing albums with every DMB official release title on the sides. Theres also other little hidden imagery I wont get into. Must buy if you have the chance.

I tried to post a review for the Columbus show a few nights ago. That concert was amazing, especially with the surprise Halloween, however this is the show I would want a live release for now. There were tons of surprises, segues, and interpolations which make this concert a must hear. Here is my break down.

BEF>Grace: Well in Columbus and for most of this tour they have done the beautiful BEF>Bartender and I was happy I was going to be able to hear it again before they threw the crowd for a loop and after a few Bartender chords by Dave and Boyd, Dave broke into the Grace is Gone strumming. It was pulled off flawlessly and the crowd loved it. Grace is my fave Dave song so it was good to hear again. Beautiful sax solo by Jeff and they slowed it down to end it but dave started strum faster and faster and then carter and boyd joined in for about a 5 minute hoe down before going back into grace when Dave sanf the last few lines.

Seven: Absolutely better than last tour. The guitar build up isn’t the same as the cd anymore but rather thundering beats by tim and carter. I really like it and the extended tim solo was really good. Becoming one of the better Big Whiskey songs live.

Stay or Leave: So happy to hear this song. A lot better than hearing gravedigger for the 100th time. Dave’s voice was perfect and the energy by him really started to show during the end of this song. It was comparable to the energy during SDL outros.

DDTW: The best and most smooth version I have heard in a while. Direct Intro, Jeff and Tim tore it up. This Land Interpolation which can be awkward sometimes but it was placed perfectly in the song this time which segued right into the final verses. Well Played.

#41: At this point I was surprised we were not hearing more Big Whiskey. The Jeff/Carter Duel was awesome and the camera crew was doing a great job capturing it for the screens. Tim’s solo followed. Sojourn Interpolation was good as always and I swore there was another interpolation but cannot remember it right now. Hopefully DMBalmanac will have it soon.

SU>CB>RECENTLY: Again the band was really showing their enthusiasm with this. I know it has been done before but I bet it wasn’t as smooth as tonight. First half of stand up into the outro of cornbread into the jam or recently complete with Pretty Girl and Take me to the River interpolated. An unbelievable jam of three songs that needs a live release.

Squirm>Eh hee: Squirm was amazing tonight. I swore I heard him play a chord of Shotgun while he was facing Carter, but have not seen it posted yet. Squirm was high energy and the band playing made the guitar switch and segue into Eh hee perfect. They blended really well and the darkness of these two songs really was cool.

Shake Me: Probably the best version I have heard out of the three times I have. The horns did a really nice job on this one. PS. Kudos to Rashawn for losing some weight.

You and Me: Another Big Whiskey song that has become better live. My fiancée and I were happy to hear it tonight and the outro is really good live. It really rocks.

Nancies>Warehouse: The crowd erupted again when nancies started to play and Boyd killed it on his solo as always. I am not a fan of this song but I could not help cheering after his solo. Segued right into Warehouse old school style. I love the album stule intro. It has a great build up to it. However, Stefan must have been feeling nostalgic because right at the end of the intro he threw his fist into the air and did a WHOO motion twice. Some of the crowd did it but I don’t think everyone noticed including Dave haha. Awesome interpolations of Low Rider, La Bamba (which I haven’t seen listed yet and don’t know if that’s the right title) and salsa outro.

Cant Stop: This song can be placed right in between the feel of Smooth Rider and Seven. What Iove about this song is that before, it never sounded like it was completed. Just kind of bass and a little guitar. Now it is a full blown rocking song with solos and everything. It was good energy and Dave was really into it.

CB>ANTS: An awesome way to end the set. Cornbread was as good as ever. Carter had a furious solo at the beginning. It was Cornbread meets Halloween. Really fast tonight. Daves scatting and dancing was priceless. Perfect seque into Ants which the crowd loved. Hands in the air and singing like crazy. The outro was awesome. Everyone knows the 1 into 2 into 3 beats by carter but he pulled off 4 tonight and then the band crowded around him all of them facing him and they were doing like 12 beats in a row while Boyd was center stage facing the crowd. Best. Ants. Ever.

Encore: Little Red Bird: Dave came out and told a really good story about what inspired it and it made me like the song even more before he even started playing. A good rendition and a lovely surprise.

So Right: Dave was fooling around on the electric before it and was doing Some Devil like chords but a little different. It was never quite sure if he was just fooling around or trying something different. Then he finally went into so right. It was only 5 minutes or so before 11 so I thought it would be the last song but…

SDL>Thank you: A perfect closer. I know it is not like Halloween in Cbus however it was the perfect song to finish with because the crowd was so good tonight. Great version. Extended outro then slow version of Thank You by Dave. Sped up as it went along and then became a full fledged Thank you outro with one digging a ditch verse thrown in. The crowd continued when the song started to slow back down and Dave got right back into it. He put on someones sunglasses and danced like crazy and the band and the crowd continued. The energy was perfect. I have never experienced the band connect to the crowd like that at Blossom or any other Ohio Show like that. Dave threw his sunglasses into the crowd and Rawshawn threw his Tribe hat. Carter threw many sticks as the crowd continued to sing Thank You as they left the paviollion.
Hopefully this show will get a live release. I cannot stress enough how flawless each song was. Even with so many segues and interpolations, which can sometimes take them off beat. Each song was perfect. See you in 2012.

Wow where to begin...first off this is coming the morning after the show because once I got home I crashed (into bed) ok bad pun...anyways...

Today was incredible. I waited outside with a friend and a few dozen other people waiting to see if we could meet the band before they loaded up and got on the buses to Blossom for the show and around 2:30 we got bored and decided it was time to go eat and head to the show. Around that time though we saw Tim Reynolds, whom I'd done a phone interview with a couple years back for the DMB Marathon when I worked at the radio station at school. He was running off to Starbucks to grab some coffee before they left, so we waited fifteen minutes and decided that we'd just better go. A few seconds later as we walked to Flannery's he came walking up Prospect and we walked up to him and asked for a photo and he more than kindly obliged.

While I took a photo of him with my buddy I mentioned the marathon to him and that we'd interviewed him, thinking there was no way he'd remember it but he actually did! Tim's a great, down to earth guy and standing out there just to meet him was one of the highlights of the day for sure.

The other highlight of course was the show...good lord...this was my third DMB show and I've never seen the band or the crowd so into the music before. Big Eyed Fish was powerful and the lead into Grace Is Gone was a fun substitute for Bartender.

Seven and #41 were great as always...I'm pretty sure everyone in the band got a solo during the later song. Eh Hee was a bit of a surprise albeit a good one, I think it's an underrated song. You & Me is personally a favorite of mine, I know not everyone shares the same view but that's me...although when they followed it up with Nancies into Warehouse our section of the lawn ants exploded; I'd love to see them keep this twofer going during the tour.

Say what you will, but Can't Stop's gotten so much better this tour; Seven used to be a big stinker midway through last year's tour and look how great it's become...looking for Can't Stop to do the same.

Finally the encore was easily the best I've seen, I love Little Red Bird and his explanation of the song was pretty cool. So Right just downright blew everyone's mind, we had no idea it was coming. My favorite SDL came off of LT 15, not anymore...the outro with Dave dancing all over the place and just being...Dave...rocketed this version to #1 for me.

This was my third show and definitely is the best one I've been to so far. I know the band sometimes reads the boards so if they read this, THANK you for a great show at Blossom guys, you're one of the reasons I got into music in the first place and seeing you light up the stage just reaffirms it.

Very good show at Blossom! I must say that I had high hopes after seeing "Warehouse" and "Halloween" busted out at Huntington earlier in the week (missed that show, sadly). As for Blossom:

LOVED "Big Eyed Fish" to open the show. Never heard it before and as it started I was so happy. "Grace is Gone" was another first-time for me. Heard it many times on CD and loved it live.

The Big Whiskey songs played very well, I thought. Big fan of "Seven" here. However, I do admit sitting down during "You and Me". My legs needed a rest lol.

Highlights of the show: 1. Hearing "Don't Drink the Water" midset. I thought we weren't going to get since it didn't open, but when the blasted into it it was great. 2. "Dancing Nancies" >> "Warehouse". First time hearing them both live and simply amazing. Words can't describe how cool this was. 3. "So Damn Lucky" I really was kinda bummed when this started because I was hoping for a "Tripping Billies" or maybe even "Halloween" since it got busted out 3 days earlier. However, I was proven very wrong. The band jammed on this one very, very well. The "Thank You" interpolation really got the crowd into it. Overall, a great way to close the show.

So there it is, a 4 star Blossom show. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the "Can't Stop" >> "Cornbread" part right before "Ants". They are both decent songs, but not enough for me to give this a 5 star review.
