I remember being more disappointed in this show than other years. Songs and set seemed short and unenthusiastic.

I was a little shocked to hear 11 new songs. Don't get me wrong...I love some of the new songs but I had hoped for a few of my faves. Timebomb and Baby Blue for the encore ? Really ?!?!?!?!

After two nights at the Greek, it just seemed like the same old stuff. Number 50 for me. Chula is usually a great show. Oh well, See ya next year.

It was my second least favorite show that I've seen for DMB. Still a great time, but I was hoping for a better setlist.

For the most part, I agree with the other reviewers. For those of us who also went to the two shows at the Greek, this one didn't stand out. My seats were better than those other shows, but the setlist was not special. I am looking forward to seeing what happens at tonights show (#56 for me) in Irvine. Can a girl get some Beach Ball already?!

Let me start by saying that a rating is no "offense" to anyone, but should be used as a comparrison to other shows- and of course it has to be from your own impression -and yes it will be biased by how long you have ben a fan, where you sit, who is around you..(but only to some extent -as, if you are like me, you become mesmorized when the band is on, and really don't care about others around you.) (Everyone happy from WH MB now :) I have been to almost 40 shows and this one just really did not get going for me. After the openers, I literarrly said to myself -"glad those are out of the way"...and with DDTW, I thought it was going to go deep...but never did. I have high expectaions for Chula Vist as well...it is usually a good set with a couple of surprises. Daves voice last night was clearly strained- much more so than the Greek theatre -it appeared that he was in pain and concerned. I am not going to go on...but if you want to understand my impression, listen to last night's show...then listen to a Live Trax...It's a huge expectation i know...but that is what a rating system is for...if everything gets a 4 or 5 star rating then it means nothing... We'll see after tonight..perhaps with a break ahead it will be a little more risky... BUT as a last note.. it is not Dave's voice that I am unhappy with - it is still great!!!!! It has been more about song selection...

it doesn't get better than sitting 6th row center. with that in mind...
the setlist left much to be desired. don't get me wrong, i was glad to hear all of BWGGK except Dive In & Grux, and I was glad that I got to hear Satellite for the first time. But other than that, very bland setlist.
Then again, when you're sitting/standing that close, it doesn't really matter.
The band's energy was rockin. Dave's voice sounded good, except when he admittedly fumbled the lyrics of "Baby Blue." The guys looked like they were having a great time with each other. All in all, good show.

Either the bud was fantastic, or DMB was fantastic, or both. For some reason this was just a great fuckin' show - even the new songs had some kind of subtle change, perhaps they were playing them a bit slower, or more reverently, I don't know. Maybe the transitions in the new songs weren't as abrupt as the last two nights. Just can't put my finger on it. Wait a sec... let me light this up for a sec...phwuut ...uh... ...ahhhhh. Oh, I remember, one reason was Boyd Tinsley was just fantastic he was playing at some new slower tempo, playing the lower registers of the violin, displaying range and subtlety... or maybe it was that crazy weed. I know it was fantastic, my g/f Lise took one big hit in the parking lot, got into the back seat of the car and refused to go to the concert till I talked her down from some wicked pot paranoia... When I finally got her mellow enough to go inside with me, she really enjoyed the show too. So maybe it wasn't just the weed....

Anyone who wrote 1, 2, or 3 stars for this show and then tried to justify your rating by the setlist or Dave's "lack of energy" need to download the show and take a listen back. That show was probably one of the best shows I've ever seen. I love the new album. I love Tim Reynolds railing on his electric. And Dave, holding back...well he might die trying to please all you pathetic critics. Needless to say, he played Baby Blue on the encore for only the third time. Sorry you haters have been to every show on the tour and are so called "experts" on everything Dave. My advice...get a life, enjoy what you have, and stop hating on what you love...

This was another amazing show. Again, we got to sit with our really good friends. The tailgate was nothing short of amazing!

As we walked into the show someone gave all our friends a 'LOVE' pin to wear in memoriam. Absolutely wonderful!!

The new stuff sounds so so good!

I loved the new album and was excited to hear it live when DMB started the tour. With this show being my last of the tour, I was super excited to almost hear it all in one show! Some will say the lack of old stuff stings a fairly knowledgable crowd in Chula. I say it was a reward to a mellow crowd DMB figured could handle hearing what the band was enjoying playing at this time. (Sorry Gorge snobs.)

Great show. Dave's voice sounded exceptional.Jimi Thing and Why I am stood out the most to me. Wish they would have started with something other than "Funny the Way it is." That's what they started with at the 2nd show in LA on Thursday.

first of all i want to say i am dmb's greatest fan. have seen some dynamite shows over the years from all over calif. and a trip to the gorge in 06. last night being my 27th in chula vista. i guess i have been spoiled and my expectations are possibly too much. too me earlier in the tour the band was playing more of a mix of old and new which was way cool. and i love the old stuff. but these last three shows have been a big whiskey festival. last night they played the whole album except for dive-in. maybe dave is tired although he seemed to have a lot energy and his voice was strong. but the set mix is lacking in my opinion. plus they shows have been a lot shorter this past week. just a little over 2 hrs. i was happy to hear proudest monkey finally and liog 2 shows in a row was a treat. boyd was on fire last night. jimi thing is one of my favs too. but they have opened with ftwii and ended with time bomb two nights in a row. come on dave! don't be so predictable. hope to hear so old jams tonight in irvine. what happened to 41 and two step? or even warehouse would make me dance for joy.

Great weather, cool venue, horrible staff. These clowns were walking up and down the orchestra sections all night to tell us to get in front of our seats and stop spilling into the aisles. We're trying to party and you're f'ing it up for us!! Seriously ruined it for me. Kind of a bummer.

Great show. It was definitely an "album tour" type of setlist, but that's okay. They played almost all of Big Whiskey and a few classics. I think these were the best seats I've ever had (front of one of the last sections... I never get great seats). I had a great time!

Band sucked, plain and simple. No set list effort, playing essentially the same set, same songs, same lack of creativity & effort. Even Dave's dancing seemed choreographed!

They're starting to support those that question why we go to so many shows: "Don't you get tired of hearing the same songs every night?" This year, I felt that way for the first time ever and skipped Irvine for that exact reason. It's cast BWGGK in a negative light unfortunately because of their album "supporting" tour.

awesome show. not your average DMB show in the sense that it wasn't reliant on long and epic, mind-expanding jams. i personally had an awesome time at Chula and i really enjoyed this set. it was very Big Whiskey heavy and they never really took it to the level that shows used to reach. but this show had its own level, and it was an awesome level, even if most people aren't used to it yet. i was hungry for more when i left the venue but after some thought, i realized that this is a completely different band now. it may not be the DMB i fell in love with, but it's a completely different DMB to fall in love with all over again! what's not awesome about that?!
