This show was intresting...the energy was intense right off jeff got crazy on the stone...the only down about this show was too much at the end it finally caught Mr. Coffin off guard...it just was not roi...but having said that for a replacement in 2 days he took care of business and he rocked the house for us.great show! Proudest Monkey-satellite,jimi thing, two step, the stone!!! WE WANT ROI WE WANT ROI!!!!WE LOVE ROI!!!!!

This was my fourth show (one each year for the past four years) and it was one of the best. The only thing I could have gone without would have been YMDT and Proudest Monkey, but I got to hear The Stone, DDTW, and Ants for the first time. Jeff Coffin was AMAZING but you just can't replace LeRoi. DMB really wanted to show off the Saxophone and horns tonight and Coffin on Stone and Jimi Thing was great. Also, Dave let the crowd sing the to verses of Jimi Thing like in Saratoga Night 2. No one should be worried about any up coming shows...the excitement and energy last night was the most I've seen in four years.

Second row, dead center! Closest I've been. Learned a lot about how the band administers the show by being this close to the stage and watching how Carter cues everything. This was the first show without LeRoi Moore. Jeff Coffin must have done a crash course the day before while also getting help from Rashawn Ross and having music notes during the show. He was great in stepping in. What an experience being that close!

It's easy to say the band wasn't completely on tonight because of Leroi's absence. But Jeff Coffin brought a ton of energy and extremely good solos to songs like The Stone and Jimi Thing. The band did not try to hide him... they let him solo on the opener for The Stone! If you're worried about your upcoming show -- don't.

Tonight's show just proves to me that DMB found a way to impress the hardcore fan (me) for an entire night. Think about what they've gone through in the last few months.... they lost Butch right before the tour and lost their saxophonist right before tonight's show. What can't this band overcome?

I do worry Leroi's injury will really put a cap on the possibility of "new" songs coming out on this tour.

My first show, I was blown away. far from disappointed and quite pleased with the night's guests. energy levels were out of control. my opinion is a little weak due to my lack of shows but from talking to my buddies who have been to numerous shows; charlotte was on fire!

Fourth row center for me at this show, and I was 7 months pregnant! Dave stared at a blonde in the front row the entire night (jealous!); I also got to see his wife and kids side stage watching the show. Pretty cool. First show without Roi. Security was adamant about no pictures.

I thought the set list was a little sub-par compared to some other shows this tour. I might just be sick of hearing SMTS>ASTB>TM for the millionth time. The band sounded great and Coffin tore up solos, but the closer was clearly lacking without Roi, also noticeable on DDTW.

Dave messed up the words to Satellite, it was pretty funny.

*I was chanting "We love Roi", not "We want Roi", whoops.

We were in section 2, row D seats 8 and 9 thanks to somebody I will not name but we all know...LOL! Before the show I was in the VIP club and got to talk to Hugh who was Tim Reynolds manager. I got to talk to him for a while and found out some very interesting things. He had been good frineds with all member of DMB they grew up in VA togther. Overall, considering Hugh told me that Jeff Coffin only had 2 hours to practice the music before his first show with DMB I feel that that it was amazing! We got to hear solos from Carter, Boyd, and Fonz all in the same evening... Can't wait to have them back next year in NC!!!

The band was not whole tonight but what they lacked in band members, they made up with in intensity. Jeff Coffin filled in very smoothly and Tim Reynolds added stuff that you only hear on special occasions. They added new flavor to regular songs and the night had a underlying happiness to it for good thoughts directed towards Leroi's recovery. Good, good show and and the performances can only get better and more fiery from here. Its, good music!

I know that I'll be considered a horrible person for saying this, but I've always wondered what DMB would sound like without Roi, and man I'm glad I got to hear it. Being a saxophonist myself, Roi's playing has forever been my one beef with the band but Jeff Coffin was amazing. It was like the DMB that I always imagined. By far the best show I've seen despite poor Rashawn Ross trying to read some of Roi's parts on mellophone(?).

Mediocre set list is why I only give it 3 stars. Definitely not as good as last year's Charlotte show. I was not all that excited when they followed up a very good opener (and one of my favorite songs), The Stone, with 2 Stand Up songs (especially Old Dirt Hill). I also didn't really like 3 covers in one show. I want to hear the genious that is DMB in their own songs. I will say that they performed the covers very, very well though.

Also the band still seemed to be energized even without Leroi and jammed well with Jeff. I thought the crowd was pretty good too. A few minor slip ups were noticable, but nothing that really took any energy away from the show.

The show was awesome. I was Tripping Billies and the light show was extrodinary. The Stone i have been wanting for years now. Proudest Monkey was awesome. I climbed out of my tree when i heard it. Eh Hee was awsome with Tim on it. Tim adds so much to the band now i don't know how they can ever let him go, it won't be the same. Sledgehammer was groovy as hell. Then the most monumental Two Step ever. No lie download this concert just to hear the Two Step you won't be disappointed. Oh yea JeffCoffin was SICK!!!! loved his energy even though the crowds energy SUCKED!!!My favorite concert of the year so far.

I'm sure a lot of people will scream about this statement, but Jeff Coffin is a better woodwind player than Leroi Moore. He's more classically trained, plays with tons of different musicians, and is a spokesman for several saxophone brands and products. So it was clear that his presence absolutely stole the show. His solos were amazing and he brought new life to a tour that seemed to be dying. This show had a lot more energy compared to Saturday's show in Virginia. I could've used a few more classic jam songs, but overall, a great show. I'm sure when Leroi comes back, DMB will sound as good as they did before his absence, but in the meantime, enjoy DMB + Jeff Coffin. It's a real treat.

I've only been at Charlotte shows for the past five years, but this was by far the best in all those years. Seeing Tim play with the full band was AMAZING and that alone brings the show to a whole new level. Roi's absence was obviously a downer, but the energy was still great and I thought it was wonderful how Dave led us in the "We Want Roi" chant which they filmed for Roi - in some ways, that's probably the most memorable part of the show. Every arm in the place was pumping in unison.

I've been to 5 shows in Charlotte, and this was the best one yet! Loved The Stone opening. I never get tired of Two Step and Ants Marching, which were among the best versions I've heard. Jeff Coffin showed his brilliance with only a day to prepare. Tim Reynolds just added another dimension. The Sledgehammer, Money, and Bitch covers were great additions. Just a great time!

"Security" at this show was outrageous. Once he decided I was a problem, he would not let me be all night long. And by "problem" I mean, he saw me take one picture and I agreed to put the camera away. I didn't take it out again. But man, when I took my chapstick out of my pocket he almost threw me and my fiancee out of the show, while belligerently arguing with me that I had in fact pulled the camera out and not my chapstick. Only problem was, I didn't even have the camera any more at that point, I gave it to someone else to hold because I was so tired of getting harassed. I'm not kidding at all. Oh, and I'm a VERY threatening 4'11" tall, so you can see how he was sure that I was going to rush the stage with my camera and cause all kinds of chaos.

I loved the show because it was my first full band w/ Tim and the fact that there was a new twist with Jeff sitting in for LeRoi. With the monkey wrench dealt, shows like this are probably as close as we'll get to seeing them rehearse. Sure, I've heard better versions of a few songs, but I would love for this show or another from these few Jeff Coffin shows to become a Live Trax because it will be quite unique. Don't get me wrong, can't wait 'til LeRoi's healthy and back in the game, but this is truely a great time to see the band.

I like how they spotlighted Jeff right away on Stone, letting him and more importantly the crowd know that everything was cool.

I think somehow this show should be rated rare in AM's rarity index in that we never have these opportunities to see the band with a new member on a day's notice.

Dave's Satellite blooper to me was one of the highlights because he couldn't stop smiling until the next verse. That's not something you see too often.

I was very pleased with this show. I felt the band played with a lot of energy, and they seemed to be having a good time despite Roi's accident. Jeff Coffin filled the void well, bringing some new sound to the band but without straying too far from what we have come to expect from DMB. Roi was noticeably absent on a few songs, Too Much for one. There were a few kinks, e.g. Dave nearly slipping up on Satellite, the extended snare intro to Ants while it appeared Jeff flipped through his sheet music, but I like knowing these guys aren't machines, it's an endearing quality. The covers were, no pun intended, right on the money. The long and short of it is, I came away from this show feeling satisfied and looking forward to the next shows.

I have a different opinion from the reviewer before me. The show seemed very lacking in areas. There were some songs where they seemed to put a lot of effort into them, but there were a few where Dave (and the rest) seemed out of it. That is to be expected, since he said several times that the band was missing Roi and it was difficult for them to play without him there. I have been to more than 10 DMB concerts and this one was just "ok."

A show memorable only for Leroi's absence. Coffin's solos on The Stone, You Might Die Trying, and Jimi Thing were excellent. But otherwise, this show was very bland. Assuming Coffin keeps up the good work tonight in Raleigh, there's no reason to download this show. A huge step back from last summer's Charlotte show (DT, Pig, Lawlor, TypSit).

This was the 58th DMB show I've been too, and it was definitely one of the best. I am not exactly sure what show these other reviewers were at. Energy has a way of being overrated around here, but the band had it tonight in spades. Not only that, they were definitely not "off" as some other reviewers have put it; they were tight and seamless on almost every song. Great setlist, great performances.
P.S.-The chant was definitely, "we want Roi." The previous reviewer is mistaken.
