My first D&T show and it was great. Not the most eclectic setlist but still an awesome show and the interview with the Dalai Lama was cool as well.

Met Dave & Tim @ Moxy after the show! He didn't say much, but it was great to say we enjoy his music and loved the show

What a great Dave & Tim show. They both played their hearts out.
From our seats, we were able to see Dave hold his children in his arms when Tim did his solo. It was a great sight to see. A "bringing it down to earth" kind of moment.

The first show I went to that I felt Dave didn't come through, I hate to say it but I was let down. The set list was weak and the show felt rushed. A one song encore!! Not a lot of energy. The Lama was cool though...

eh, too short, and too much d + f songs. I know he doesn't get to play the usually but come one, i couldve gone for a #41, two step, say goodbye, crush....maybe a dreaming that the free show got. all in all, ive been to quite a few shows and I was not impressed, I'm definently not one of those guys who always writes negatives, the even was cool, tim is fucking crazy....whatev

well put, short but sweet. indeed i would've at the very least liked a two song encore. can't complain though, it was my first d&t show and i've never heard dave's voice sound so good.

the talk with the dalai lama was one of the most incredible things i've ever seen.

crowd was most active for cornbread, which is coming along quite nicely.

i saw a sign posted on the door about professional recording equipment, hoping it was just for show...

So damn lucky to get tickets, sold out in seconds. Saw the Dahli Lama. Great performance, similar to Live at Radio City.

Great show and even though the setlist was blah, every song was performed to perfection. The shortest Dave show I've ever seen.

Months of anticipation of seeing two of the people for whom I have the greatest amount of respect for passed on a very somber note last night. His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Dave Matthews shared the stage for a supposed concert on Compassion and Music.
The discussion however, moderated by NBC's Ann Curry, was an awkward discussion, driven by Curry's questioning, which had little to do with music and much to do about the current political strife facing H.H. Curry's driving and awkward questioning made the event seem more like an interview, which left Matthews stranded onstage with nothing more to do than make side comments, trying hard at times to get the conversation back to the topic.
His Holiness did a wonderful job of answering the questions with full detail, which was at times difficult to follow because of the enormous depth of his responses. When pressing issues were asked by Curry about how one could be compassionate about China, H.H. worked hard on the question to explain how he deals with political strife.
Key arena has never been a quieter place as when the conversation was happening. It was great to witness such a beautiful moment and share it with other people.
The rest of the evening was subdued, with Death Cab for Cutie playing a somewhat disconnected set of tunes. The Band seemed somewhat lost at times in the massive structure that is Key Arena and the crowd appeared less than interested. The relatively short set allowed everyone to get settled for the main event, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds.
Putting this event on at Key Arena was not a wise move by the people hosting the event, although ticket sales were certainly a key factor. My friend and I were seated in the 20th row, on the floor. Directly in front of us was one row of seating and then an huge walkway which could have added another three rows on the floors. Event security was swarming like a muzzle of bees in the area, which was a real letdown for the show. Key Arena has got to be one of the worst venues for a concert I have ever been to and I have seen Dave Matthews almost 50 times and this was one of the worst shows I have seen. The huge monitor showing the video feed of the show lit up the arena throughout most of the show, killing off an intimacy that a live show tends to bring out. I even spotted back of house lights on a number of times throughout the show.
People stayed in their seats throughout most of the show, which again, I have never seen at any Dave Matthews concert. The crowd just seemed so disconnected from the music for most of the night--and this could have been due to the number of people that were probably there for Seeds of Compassion or His Holiness, which is acceptable, but music is celebration and nothing makes me tap my feet and want to dance like Dave Matthews.
Dave was in top form, as was his partner, Tim Reynolds. Dave was very talkative and enjoyed telling lots of stories about his life and his travels.

it was awesome, though we did travel 1500 miles to get get there to find that our seats were the second to last row...it was still worth it. it was awesome to see Dave and the Dahli Lama speak together and hear their points of view...all in all it was a very fun and eventful concert!

Great show. A relatively chill audience for 6,000 people. Everyone was quiet enough to allow the songs to be heard. The sound in the arena was actually top notch. During Cornbread and Everyday the floor aisles were filled with dancing women. Tim's solo of You Are My Sanity was really top notch.

One of the most amazing experiences of my life. I felt honoured just to be in the same room as the Dalai Lama, but to hear him speak - and have a conversation with Dave - was a moving experience. The concert was excellent as expected, although I couldn't hear Tim all that well. I also would have liked to see them play more songs with solos for Tim, and more songs in general. We had floor seats (AA26) and I couldn't believe that the 4 seats to my left were empty for the ENTIRE SHOW!!

Dave, Tim, and the Dali Lama! What an interesting night. Had it not been for the local television celeb (meat-puppet) fawning all over "His Excellency", it might have been more interesting. Dave did a great job of keeping it light and fun.
Oh - the concert ... This was my 1st D&T, so other than the recordings, I had nothing to compare it to. Excellent!

an amazing, short but sweet acoustic show. highlights were bartender, tim's you are my sanity solo, a passionate some devil, dancing nancies, and lie in our graves. i could've gone for some 41 and two step at the end but i could tell dave was nervous as hell after having just met the dalai lama and he just wanted to go home.
