My oh my! Got to City Hall just as the bell was ringing for everyone to take their seats! A young guy sat next to me and was clearly hyped up and said did I realise that there were two seats on the stage and that Tim Reynolds had been seen at Newcastle Airport......those around us then got caught up in the excitement of not only seeing Dave but Tim as well.....the crowd went beserk when the lads came onto the stage!!!! Bartender (as always) fantastic, some of the newer stuff and the classic Crash, Ants Marching and good ol! Two Step! Some funny stuff from Dave trying to prounounce Newcastle like the locals do! Very funny tale about acting with Hugh Laurie in House.......cannot wait for the Manchester gig......my hometown! Whoo hoo......Haw'ay the lads! (as they say in toonland!)

Tim was not billed on this tour. Dave said that he found out Tim could come at the last minute. Me and a friend were walking the streets of Newcastle and ran into Dave, Tim, and 2 others they were with. It was funny cuz a couple people knew who he was (we got a picture with dave & tim), but it must be cool for him to walk the streets here and not get mobbed. Anyway, it was evident that Dave and Tim were a bit rusty together, the last they played together was a few shows in Oct last yr, so they messed up a bunch of times (dave skipped the whole 2nd verse of nancies). Still a great show though, davespeak was hilarious.

It was a great show. It was also a suprise to see Tim there because there was no indication that he would be there for sure.

What a wicked show.. if only because it was like seeing Dave and Tim in your local HS auditorium. Will never get that close without paying way too much money in the states..
To see Dave tune up for the rest of the European tour was excellent, like watching him and Tim work up to something really nice (which we now know was Radio City..)
The DaveSpeak was more invovled than ever (loved the House cameo speak). Made it worth the trip across the pond. If only my fellow Americans could keep from shouting out song choices..

My first concert EVER. I had a brilliant time! I'm not very good at writing reviews. Dave and Tim played a new song! The dave speak was entertaining as always! That is all.

Travelling up to Newcastle to see my family, I managed to make this show after switching my flight from London to the 5.30pm from the 8.05pm!! So headed straight to the City Hall - and tickets on sale at the door. Incredible - and 300 empty seats at the start. "Dave who?" my brother asked. So America's best kept secret goes on stage at 8.10pm - and what a surprise extra bonus to have Tim Reynolds too. Strange atmosphere - at least 50% of the audience is American. Usual opener, Bartender - and Tim already adding his value with some great guitar work. Fair play to Dave - pronouncing the venue city as Newc-astle rather than the BBC English New-castle!! Usual favourites in accoustic shows follow - liked When the World Ends and my personal favourites So Damn Lucky, Crush and Everyday. Usual great banter - his unfortunate walk in Mackem country on Seaham beach where he stood in a dog turd!! A polite lady (Dave's words!) asks for Christmas Song, and fair play Dave and Tim pull off a seemingly unrehearsed rendition as the third encore. Two Step finishes and the Newcastle audience goes home very happy around 10.30pm. Fabtastic show - see you at Oxford on Friday!!!!

Traveled from Derbyshire to the gig, took a mate that had never listened to DM before, he was surprised at how much he'd enjoyed the gig. Listened to Dave and Tim live cd on the way down to get in the mood, arrived in Newcastle and got lost as the road signes around Newcastle are dyer. Visited Starbucks and then made our way to the gig. Nice venue, perfect for the gig as it was intimate.
As wo took our seats, after buying a limited print from the merchendise stall, we noticed that there were 2 chairs! Could it be that Tim was atending?
As Dave took the stage, Tim joined him! Result! The whole gig was the highlight, I particularly enjoyed Gravedigger, When the world ends, Stay or leave, Everyday, Some devil and Tims solo. All in all, the best gig I've attended. Partly due to the fact that I'd billed it up so mch, and antisipated it so greatly and the fact that Dave and Tim delivered!
