This was my first time hearing Pig and it opened, so that was nice. Also the midset Two Step and Lover Lay Down were pleasant surprises. Kras sounded tight on Smooth Rider. Butch's scat on Jimi was crazy. The weak encore hurt this show, but it is still one of my favorites so far.

This show was fucking amazing. The band had a great vibe amongst one another. Rashawn Ross accompanied Leroi Moore on a great variety of songs. Also, Eric from Soulive was invited on stage as a guest for a couple of songs. Smooth Rider was amazing. Butch tore it up on Linus and Lucy. Show rocked my world. It was my roomates first time going to a Dave concert and he loved it.

Amazing show overall. It was my first at in indoor venue, and I loved to new atmosphere. Soulive was a great opener and their energy really set the stage for the rest of the night. Pig was a sweet opener and Christmas Song, although I expected it to be played, blew me away and it was the highlight of the night.

Great show! The 7th show this year and the 27 show overall. Highlights included: Dancing Nancies, Warehouse, Linus & Lucy, Jimi Thing, Christmas Song, and What Would You Say. Great venue and great crowd, who really seemed to be into the show. The chemistry between these musicans is amazing. They seem to get better and better with each show and each year. The really fantastic idea is that they have been playing some of these songs for years and still have a great time playing them.

The "Pig" opener ruled. This show would have been a near-perfect gig with the adition of "Ants" as the encore, and I think the majority of the crowd was expecting it as there was a definite let-down when "What Would You Say" hit as the final tune, but it's a relatively small quibble, at least for me. The "Steady as We Go" was a monster with Dave in fine form. "Linus & Lucy" was a nice inclusion, as was the "Dancing Nancies/Warehouse" bit. I've seen "Too Much" done, well, too much quite frankly. "Lover Lay Down" was a nice touch. All in all, a show to remember as this was on my birthday !

Great show. Loved the Pig opener and Two Step towards the begining of the set. They seemed to have great energy tonight. Always wanted to hear Linus and Lucy live as well as Christmas song so those were great. Definitely disappointed with the closers. ODH and WWYS were a bit slow and killed the mood of the crowd. When Fonzi and Dave started playing the first few chords of Dreaming Tree I thought I was going to lose it, too bad it was just a tease! Eric and Rashawn were great bonuses! ALL IN ALL a great show and already can't wait for the summer tour!

Wow, this was my first (and only) DMB show and it was amazing! Pig was the perfect opener followed by BOWA was a real treat. Other highlights include: Stand Up, Two Step (which was insane), Hunger (I actually like this song), LLD, Nancies into Warehouse, Linus and Lucy, Jimi Thing, Stay, Christmas Song, and WWYS. I couldn't have asked for a better first set list. The crowd was the best I've ever seen at any show I've been to and the band was on fire the whole night. I can't wait to catch a few more shows this summer!

Great show! A little disappointed with the WWYS closer, but since it was a 3 song encore it was ok. Highlights: Jimi Thing with the Butch scat, Stay, Pig as opener, The Dreaming Tree tease, and of course Christmas Song. Two Step was the song of the night for me! The performance was insane and the crowd was lovin' it! Once again DMB has done another great show. Can't wait til the next!

#12 show for me, and a standout in my book. The band had kind of a chilled out vibe throughout the night with songs like Pig, Best of What's Around, Dreamgirl, and Lover Lay Down. However, they got rocking with Two Step, Nancies, Jimi, and Stay. Having Eric Krasno from Soulive out for Smooth Rider was ridiculous! The band and the crowd were definitely feeling it. Two things that stood out in my mind were that #1, the Joe Jouis Arena is a much better venue for sight and sound than the Palace, and #2, the crowd was a diehard bunch of DMB Detroiters. I thought they were gonna expode with anticipation before the band came out for the encore! With Christmas Song and Old Dirt Hill to wrap up the night, the show became sketched in my mind as a classic.

Concert #5 Overall, solid performance, level of energy was terrific! I hoped for #41, thought there was a good chance with Krasno and Ross up there as well, but maybe in 2006. Pig, 3rd time hearing it was a great opener. Dave sounded very strong. Best of whats around to follow was also a treat, first time hearing it live. Stand Up songs were coming, and didnt mind Stand Up b/c it isnt too long, and the energy was great. Dave was dancing of course. Dreamgirl just drags out, but the intro was still nice, and the energy of the crowded made all the difference Two Step was def a highlight/treat, didnt expect it early. Butch had a Listener Supported sounding solo which was fine. It also had a unusually long intro, which was great. Def a grea performance and version of the song Nancies into Warehouse was nice to hear again. BT during Dancies was dancing alll over the place, and again the energy at the concert was pretty badass. and Linus & Lucy was fun. Ross was up there alot, alot of the times he was just backing, but he shined in Warehouse. Krasno came up for Too Much, which was just a warmer for Smooth Rider; the energy of the crowd prety much died when it began, I wanted to sit down myself, was happy when it was over. Christmas song was coming but still beautiful to hear. No surprises but overall really solid. Low Points: I had a feeling ODH was coming after christmas song which would have been fine if Tripping Billies or Ants followed but WWYS, I still dont believe that...wtf Jimi Thing was my first and rather dissapointing, while Leroi and RaShawn shined, Butch's "never ending" solo followed by his scat sucked major ass, esp since there was no Dave scat...

WOW! What a show!! Pig was a great opener and BOWA has always been a favorite, great to hear it live finally. Two Step was amazing, the crowd was psyched tonight!! Was really impressed with HFTGL.........Nancies into Warehouse was just awesome–Boyd was all over the stage and Rashawn Ross’s salsa outro to Warehouse was cool!! Never thought I’d be lucky enough to hear Linus and Lucy but there it was. Smooth Rider with Eric Krasno was a gem and exceeded my expectations. Jimi Thing blew me away and Stay was great as usual. Christmas Song was a treat, but to follow it up with ODH?? I was pissed until WWYS barely salvaged the encore. Don’t get me wrong, a 3 song encore is great, but where was Ants or Billies or Watchtower? Was hoping to hear Louisiana Bayou, my favorite song from the new album. Still an incredibly awesome concert, the boys were feeling in tonight, deep setlist had classics mixed in with the new stuff, and the crowd never lacked energy. Can’t wait for the summer tour!!!

Great show, the best I've seen in Michigan. I hope the JLA is DMB's permanent Detroit home, it is such a better venue than the Palace. The set list was solid, early Two Step caught me off guard as did Linus & Lucy. I thought Pig/BOWA to start the show was a great combo. WWYS as the final encore song is always a good way to end the night. I was dead center, 15th row, F2 and the crowd was very into it from what I saw. This show made up for the extremely weak UofI show a few days ago.

One of the more incredible shows I've been to. Opening with Pig, into BOWA. Early play of 2 Step, Rashawn Ross & Soulive rocked on several songs,Nancies into Warehouse, Linus & Lucy and Christmas Song in the same night. I didn't think Jimi could be better than Champaign, but it was! Then the triple encore; I just KNEW they weren't gonna end on ODH.

My 3rd show and I thought it was great! I've been spoiled with my first 2 shows at Alpine, but this show was very close behind. Pig to open! and then Best of what's around really got the crowd into it. Stand Up was good, I think it keeps getting better. I'm a fan of Dreamgirl, especially the intro "yeahs", they gave me chills. Then Two Step was an awesome surprise. LLD was great as usual. After Dancing Nancies into Warehouse, which was amazing, they broke into Linus and Lucy!! That segwayed into Steady, which I'm not a huge fan of, but i think it really fit into the set after linus and lucy. Two Much and Smooth Rider were really improved with Eric Kranso. Jimi Thing and Stay was a great ending. Christmas song was awesome. When Stephan started playing a little solo, I was hoping it was going to be Watchtower. But instead they played ODH, which I like, but was hoping for a stronger encore song, I was saying to people around me that "they can't end on this song!" WWYS was a nice closer, I love that song. Overall I thought the setlist was the best of the winter and the crowd was really into it the whole night, about 3 hrs of DMB!

What a great show! Opening with Pig was amazing. I had always wanted to hear The Best of What's Around and I finally did. It was awesome! Two Step in the middle of the set was incredible! All of the songs of Stand Up were incredible. Dancing Nancies into Warehouse was incredible as well! Then Linus and Lucy! How often do people get to hear that? That was awesome! Dave said his voice was a little scratchy but it did not matter. The show was incredible. Eric Krasano was awesome of Too Much and Smooth Rider. Jimi Thing and Stay were good ways to end the show. It took a while for them to come back for the encore but I would have waited another ten minutes to hear the encore. Christmas Song was beautiful, Old Dirt Hill was a treat to hear and it was near my birthday so What Would You Say was awesome to hear. "Mom it's my birthday"!

Review:
Not the best, not the worst. However, the Joe is a great venue for Dave. Awesome sightlines and the crowd seemed more energetic than the Palace. Hearing Pig as an opener was definitely a treat. An awesome Two Step jam was good to hear (Carter, you rock!). The crowd almost drowned out Dave because they we were all singing so loud to it! This was followed by an amazing version of Lover Lay down. At the end of LLD Carter had some fun mimicking the drum beat from the opening of Paul Simon's 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover. Linus and Lucy was awesome! Great hearing such a gem! Eric Krasno came out, but there was a good 4-5 minute delay trying to get his hookup working. Christmas Song was decent. Sonme unusual highlights of the show were LeRoi doing 90% of the show without sunglasses, which surprised most. Dave also mistakenly referred to his opening act, Soulive, as Soul Coughing. He corrected himself and followed it by a swearing fit. Finally, Rashawn Ross added an awesome dynamic to the band with his amazing trumpet skills.

Better yet, I think I'm going to have the money to see more than just one or two shows next summer, and this performance encouraged me even more of the band still having it. Being a drummer, I no doubt would murder kittnes to have a fraction of Carter's ability.

Although I was dissapointed that Dave didn't play anything from Busted Stuff and Everyday, as well as ants marching (being one of the songs I need to hear live before I die) I thought it was a damn ood concert. The set list was a a little wierd, I did not get the drift of any previous patterns in the music selection other then dancing nancies into warehouse

Lets get serious people....prob one ive the worst setlists I have seen live..really needs to stop playing What would you say.especially as an encore....its 39'th out of the 40 shows I've been to. Nancies into Warehouse was cool in 95

This show was awesome. The one thing I was hoping for that I thought we would be given for sure was American Baby Intro. But still they were on stage until 11:20 or so. Linus and Lucy was a surprise. Also heard a quick Dreaming Tree tease before Old Dirt Hill tonight by both Dave and Fonzi. Hope I can get a hold of this show.

Best show i've ever been to. Smooth Rider was unbelieveable to the point that i wondered if Dave would be able to sing after he was finished with that song. Crowd participation in Jimi Thing was also a great moment. Beginning to end, great song after great song, although I think Lover Lay Down may have been better at a different point in the show. Carter, Butch, and Boyd all rocked out on their solos. The only bad thing was the 2 inches of snow that accumlated while I was in the arena.

Absolutely AMAZING! We had incredible seats, the setlist was insane -- Dancing Nancies, Warehouse, Jimi Thing, TWO STEP! And some of my favorites from SU. I was a little disappointed in the encore, ODH didn't seem like such a good choice. Christmas Song was beautiful, though. Overall, an AMAZING second concert :) Can't wait for Dave to come back to Detroit again!

Great show. I was hoping to hear DDTW or Watchtower, But Pig and dancing Nancies into Wharehouse made up for it. I can't wait for the next show @ Joe Louis Arena...

Musically, one of the best I have seen. All the songs were amazing...Opening with Pig was a welcome change! The addition of Rashawn Ross made the concert even more entertaining. He is a very talented trumpet player and the jams were awesome! Overall, very very good show!!
