NIGHT 2...kind of let down. Good Parts og the show: #34, You Never Know, Watchtower w/RR, Ants mid-set, getting home was much better than night 1. Bad Part: Set was slow the entire night, Everyday opened for like the 5th time for me, nothing new was played, and when they opened the gates to the lawn we got crushed.

User: AF420
Review:
Smooth Rider was HOT! The entire rest of the set list was strong with highlights of You Never Know, Lover Lay Down, #34 (w00t!), and a killer All Along with Randolph (can i get a witness?).. no complaints at all with RR and Two Step was pure insanity!!!

This was my first DMB show, even though I have been a fan since Under the Table & Dreaming. Excellent...Everyday as the opener was awesome, Watchtower with Randolp was absurd, and so was Two Step...very good show...Although I wish I went to night one so I could have seen tripping billies, jimi thing, dancing nancies, and TREY!

Our location sucked.... In addition to that we had lawn seats for the second night. the dust made it very uncomfy during the show. I had a good time, but becuase of our location and the dust, it kinda put a downer on the evening. Oh well! "Two Step" was great end to the the though!

Best show I've ever been to. Everyday Opener was tremendous because the crowd was absolutely perfect on the opening. You Never Know ! ! ! (most underrated DMB song) # 34, Ants, Dreamgirl & Granny were all amazing. Rhyme & Reason & Two Step in the encore fantastic as well. Didn't see R&R coming at all. Overall a great time, wish the venus could have been a little cleaner but still a great place to see Dave.

Good show, not as good as the 1st night. Glad we got to hear watchtower and two step though, I expected it since we didn't the first night. Everyday was a good start, and hearing #34 live for the first time was great. All in all a very good weekend, but I don't think it can compare to the Gorge even though we were in the greatest city in the world.

great show... did not disappoint. smooth rider surprised me with energy, and the rhyme and reason/two step encore was amazing. granny was extremely pleasing as always, and #34 was simply beautiful. i didn't really want to hear watchtower, but closing the set with robert randolph on stage for that song totally blew me away -- it was awesome.

worst flow for a setlist ever. Playing standup with robert randolph is supposed to be cool? nah i don't think so. Worst start to a concert i think ever too. Everday was ok but to play 3 bad songs in a row what was that. Dreamgirl was plyaed 10 times better the night before and did not need to be repeated. Ants saved some of the show and all anyone is ever going to remember this show by is 34 and a bad ass watchtower. im out like when the world ends should be.

Holy crap, what a show! It's probably in my top 3 shows w/ Central Park and the 6/11/01 Giants Stadium "Two-Step Thunderstorm" show. Aside from the less than favorable encore, the rest of the show was awesome! Everyday as a starter, You Never Know and #34?! What a treat! LeRoi's pennywhistle on Bartender...out of sight! And I loved seeing Robert Randolph coming on for a couple of tunes with the boys. I think he rocked the house with Warehouse like he did in May of 2002 at MSG! I wished I could have heard him take us down to the Lousiana Bayou. I'm very glad that Show #10 for me was tonight at the Island Getaway SIDE NOTE: I did go and see Ants Marching (the Long Island-based DMB Tribute band)at B.B. King's in the city. Unfortunately, I only caught the last 4 tunes of the set...somewhat disappointing.

My 10th show, and definitely did not live up to the hype i put on the show. I expected some amazing songs, but I basically got Hartford Night 2 again. There were some high points: 34 was amazing!!!!, a good Ants, Randolph on Watchtower was amazing!, and a good Two Step finisher. I didn't see as much energy as earlier in the tour, and the lawn was awful. Not a good venue in my opinion. Not a bad show, but not the top of my list either.

modest at best, show had huge potential that was not lived up to. the venue was poor, most of the show was spent trying to find a place to see the screens that were much to low to be seen. i was hoping for a huge song or two but was slighlty dissapointed by the use of popular songs. However watchtower with randolf was amazing.

My 50th show, 6th this tour. For me, these were the best 2 shows of this summer so far. I got to see and hear for my first time this tour #34, You Never Know, Jimi Thing, Time of the Season, and 2 Step. Not to mention Trey and Robert Randolph! These guys take the band to a whole new stratosphere that will always keep me coming back for more. I've gone to DMB concerts since 1996, so it's always hard to compare shows over the years. However, the band is definitely playing with more intensity and seeming to have a better time playing together than they have for the last 6 or 7 years. I've been to many "classic" shows, including The Gorge, Central Park, James Brown, Hartford (with Linus and Lucy), and they are playing with that intensity almost every night out. We can always find things to criticize and complain about, but this band is something special. We should appreciate the talent that makes one of their shows an experience to remember, even after the 50th concert.

it was a great way to end a weekend that so many of us had been looking forward to since april when we bought our tickets. the sunday show was more mellow than saturday, but dave made up for it by jamming to "stand up" and "watchtower" with robert randolph and then ending the night with "two step." it was great to hear "granny", and "lover lay down" was such a treat. thanks for the great weekend dave! can't wait to do it all over soon!

I loved the Saturday show also, but no setlist could top sunday's. I loved You Never Know, Bartender, Too Much, GRANNY, Lover Lay Down, WWYS, Ants Marching (of course), #34. Watchtower was incredible. Ive never seen more energy (And drunkeness) by fans. And when he ended with Two Step, I was going nuts. A perfect end to the perfect weekend.

hot damn! definetly worth the 2 and half hours of traffic on 80 east trying to get over the GW bridge, and the blazing heat in the middle of a giant dirt cloud. FINALLY i get to hear you never know, and im glad i chose the answer "enjoy every minute of it" to the poll the other day becuase i fuckin loved every second of #34. every concert this year i notice the songs are getting even better and better... great show. but what happened to the continuous music between 2 stages? an hour long wait before dmb was torture.

Went with two friends and my dad because we had an extra ticket. The seats were INCREDIBLE and I knew it would make my task of "converting" my friends into DMB fans much easier. The beginning of the set was very low key with Everyday, DGirl, Smooth Rider, LLD, etc. The band really kicked into gear for Bartender and Too Much... the rest of the show was solid with a #34 (my first), a high-energy ants, and a FUCKING INCREDIBLE watchtower with RR. He doesn't really fit in on Stand Up, but LB and watchtower sound like they were made for slide guitar. It was nice to hear R&R (another first for me) in the encore before a solid Two Step. On paper Night 1's setlist was better but the crowd on the second night had a lot more energy. I expected a suprise at Randalls, and although we didn't get one (besides Trey on Jimi) they still put on a fantastic show.

Next time DMB wants to play in the NY area, someone please remind them about MSG or Giants Stadium! Randell's Island is a nice place, I just don't want to go to another concert there...anyway, tonights show wasn't as good as night 1, but it was still awesome! A mid set Ants, YNK, #34, and Watchtower with Robert Randolf were, hands down, the best parts of the show! The show over all just felt too slow (not that I don't love LLD, Bartender and YKN) and Randell's Island is just too much of a hastle to get to and from. My buddies and I left during Two Step to avoid the lines for the four buses that were transporting people off the island.

The show started out mellow but Dreamgirl and Smooth Rider were sick and it was nice to see You Never Know -> Bartender.. . the show started picking up speed after Lover Lay Down and Ants just came out of nowhere. Throw in 34 which I was dyin to see, Robert Randolph and fucking amazing Two Step and you've got yourself a kickass show. Thank you DMB

Weclome to the Island...we knew it wasn't going to be our idea of an island fantasy when we looked this place up on Randmcnally.com and saw it was between the East and Harlem Rivers. We'd drive anywhere, anytime to see DMB do just about anything, but something made me hesitate just before hitting the 'buy tickets' button for lawn seats...got lucky and tried another time just when genuine fold-up seats were released--lousy seats for sure, but next to the soundstage--that was a fun peoplewatching opportunity. Turns out waiting for seats was the best decision I EVER MADE (well...maybe). Between the dust devils whipping around the 'grassy area' all day and the funk of raw, steaming (oh I KNOW it was steaming) sewage this was the crappiest-pun definitely intended-venue I've ever been to. We've been to some great shows (Continental Arena w/Dickie Betts for one); we'd count this show among the best we've seen/heard. Mid-set closers (like Too Much and Ants) were great--it was like the show would go on forever. It was nice to have a break from the Stand Up stuff--but in truth, the album has really grown on me and in typical DMB fashion sounds much better live. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves...filthy dirty, eyes watering when the wind shifted, broke and sun baked but happy to be there. If the band is looking for a venue for next year's getaway, how 'bout any of the thousands of islands in the Adirondacks?

First show I've seen this tour, glad to hear how some of the stuff off the new album is coming off live (Smooth Rider and Hunger For The Great Light, particularly). Too bad they didn't break out any of the new songs from last summer's tour that didn't make the album, I was kind of hoping to hear Joyride. Lover Lay Down was awesome, and hearing #34 for the first time was also sweet. Looking forward to the two L.A. shows at the end of August.

unbelievable weekend....got a different experience both nights as I was in the reserved seats N1 and the lawn for N2. preferred the setlist from N1 but I got to hear #34 the second night so I am not going to dare complain. I thought the crowd was lacking night 2 but I think I just thought this because of how open the venue was compared to amphitheatres. Trey and RR were obvious highlights along with A GREAT SMOOTH RIDER (took me by surprise), nancies, and you never know.
