Wow. This was the best set i have ever seen. Jimi Thing, Cortez, and SMTS->Too Much can't be beat!!! The Jams were out of this world. Where Are You Going was expected but its a short song so i can deal with it. Had tons of Fun in the Park. Lots of people. The only downside to the show was the long line to get in, but that was a small price to pay for a great show!

What an absolutely fabulous evening. I've seen 35 DMB shows from the front row to the back row and I couldn't have possibly had a better time then I did tonight. I was about 300 yards from the stage and thank God I was, to see the band on stage with 60 foot trees all around made the light show sparkle. It still give me chills to think that my favorite band played the most famous park in the world. I've been a loyal fan since '94 and will be for the rest of my life.

Stood about 75 yards from the stage. Once the show started forgot about all the BS that lead up to that point. Wanted to hear Granny all summer and finally got it. Got Nancies for the second straight show, interesting intro to it. Did not catch the whole thing something about bartender and drinking. Couldn't hear to well from all the high school kids talking when they did not recognize the song. You knew they were going to do Warehouse with that many people. Stefan leading the WOO. Jimi Thing was awesome. Watchtower was great as always.

Iíve been going to concerts before many on this list were born. I was a Watkins Glen with 600,00 others in í73 and many others since that. I just have to say that last nights concert was one of the best Iíve ever been to. Iím not talking about just the Dave Matthews Band shows but everyone that Iíve seen. I think this one had it all come together. The venue (the park and the city that surrounds it), weather, my friends who were with me and the of course, the band, who kicked ass. It was also great to see Warren Haynes, one of the hardest working guys in the biz. get a little ,more exposure in front of some people who may not know him. What a nice surprise that was. I got home at 3:00 in the morning and got up at 6:00 to go to work and damn, it was so freakiní worth it. It will be hard to top this one, but plan to be out there lookingÖ. __________________

Show of a lifetime! I was about 25 yards from the stage on the left side, right in the middle. The people around me were awesome. The set was killer, a little radio freindly, by still awesome. Jimi Thing was sick. Dave's scat was a highlight, as was the band sliding into Buffalo Springfield. Stephan's solo Star Spangled banner, 20 minute Two Step, sick watchtower...so many hightlights! Yeah it sucked standing for nine hours. Yeah the food sucked. But it was a once in a lifetime concert, so you take the bad with the incredibly awesome.

Absolutely awesome!!! I knew going into this show that they probably wouldn't play a lot of rarities because a lot of people that went weren't huge fans of DMB, which was to be expected at a free show. I was hoping for the Last Stop, but I guess I will have to wait until another time. The wait outside sucked and I didn't get into the show until When The World Ends. Plus the video screens and the music weren't matched up right. However, both these things had nothing to do with the band. The guys just seemed so happy to be there with the crowd. I have never heard Dave talk so much to the crowd, it was crazy. And hats off to Warren Haynes!!! He fucking brought down the house; he's an amazing guitar player. The highlight for me was Stefan's bass solo of the Star Spangled Banner. It made the whole crowd erupt. All in all this concert wasn't filled with rarities or surprise guests like James Brown, but the band gave it their all tonight. I am just so happy I was there to witness this show :) DMB in Central Park was a once in a lifetime experience, but James Brown at MSG is still #1 in my book!!

Jimi thing was the best i've ever heard...and i believe it's one of the bests he's ever done. cortez the killer was sick. Disappointed with the encore tho...was dying for trippin billies as an encore. also was looking for #41, but didn't happen. other than that it was freakin awesome. people smokin all over, people jammin all over, and the bands energy got everyone (at least around me) jumpin around. oh yeah...my picture was shown on the internet, aol broadband...yeah i'm the one in the tie-die on the left...didn't get in until the following morning...7am. I can't even write about this. Orgasmic bliss. Sheer delight. Every song just absolutely brilliant. No one stood out. DMB just going nuts for all they are worth. Blows away all previous Central Park shows. Scatting, Warren, Spangled banner, Nyc backdrop, cameras, one rally nice set of boobs. I was about 50ft from the stage. Maybe 3000 people infront of me and 80,000 behind me. Absolute magic. The best DMB show ever. i can't wait for the DVD. AOL pulled the Hi-Band repeat feed far too early. It took 13 hours to get back to St. Catharines, Ontario from Manhattan. i'm so glad I went. It really was a beautiful timw. The only bad thing was all the plonkers who thought they should be able to lounge aroung comfortably on their assess instead of making room for more people. Bless DMB and AOL for this show. Bless NYC. Bless Central Park. Amen

In 11 years of going to see DMB, I have never been so awestruck, amazed and just simply blown away by this band. The atmosphere was second to none, (not even Bonnaroo came close), the sea of people all moving in unison, the spectacle of being in New York City, added to the energy and magnitude of DMBs electric performance. From the beginning Water to the final moments of Watchtower, Dave played like a man possessed. It was haunting yet moving. I knew after it was all said and done, that I had been a part of an amazing and special moment, and its surely one that I will NEVER forget.

We were about 5th to 10th row(it was hard to tell) in the section, but it was a great show. The guys were definitely having a great time. You could tell they were amazed at how many people were there. The constant smiles and the great crowd we had around us made it a memorable night. After the show about 30 ants got together at McGee's Pub and that was a GREAT time. Nice to finally put a face and voice to all the randomly typed posts on the board.:)

Oh man what a show. This was my fourth show, and definitely the best. Although I only heard two songs for the first time (Cortez and Dancing Nancies), it was awesome. Just about everything was a highlight, especially Jimi Thing and Watchtower. The only minor downside was that some ignorant girls were complaining that Warren was "ugly and not that good". I've been to a bunch of shows and collect what I hear are the amazing shows. I have NEVER experienced anything like this concert before. Dave thanked New York in the middle of his scat in Jimi Thing. He said over and over how much he loved New York and how the city has always been so good to the band. Warren Haynes was awesome to hear on Jimi Thing and Cortez the Killer.

Just Awesome! Waited on the West Side from 8:30 AM and sprinted to get a spot on the barricade. Unobstructed view, about 15 yards from the stage and, with the curving barricade, dead center!! I couldn't believe the setlist and the lights and it was just UNBELIEVABLE!!

My 36th show, 12th this summer tour. The band was outstanding. I can't wait to hear the cd/dvd to pick up some of the subtler things that Dave sang/said. For me, the two songs that Warren Haynes joined in, Cortez the Killer and Jimi Thing, were over the top. Warren's electric guitar added a different "lead" instrument to the band's usual fiddle or sax. It would be so cool if the band could have a guest electric guitarist at every show for a couple of songs. The sound of a lead electric guitar fits in perfectly. As usual the DMB fans made it an awesome night. Thanks, y'all.

A friend and I left Durham, NC at 6AM, got into the city around 3, found the end of the line around 3:30, went to the show, got back to our car around midnight and arrived back in Durham this morning at 8:30 AM. Miles travelled: 999.6. Time: 26 hours, 30 minutes. And OH MY GOD it was worth every pain and sick feeling I am having right now. I mean Jimi Thing was out of this world, and the setting for the show was more than I could have imaginined. It was simply a once in a lifetime! A great long set list, and there's probably nothing like having 100,000 people WOOO-ing the band during the Warehouse intro! I speechless... now on two hours of sleep I will go to work. The only thing that even compares to having been at the show was seeing the sun rise twice in 24 hours. Thanks to Dave and the boys! Oh, and Stefan's SSB/Watchtower intro was absolutely fantastic!

This day was amazing. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the people around me could not have been nicer. The band rocked. I have never heard DMB like that before, they gave 200% that night. All night I kept looking at the amazing stage, lights and screens everywhere, how hard a job does the crew have? These are some amazingly talented and hardworking people to do all this in the span of like 24 hours. You guys are awesome, your work is appreciated greatly. Yes, there were some dissapointments with lines, lines and more lines, etc. but that's life and what we were all a part of in the grand scheme of things is far more important, we should all feel lucky to have gone and especially for what the purpose of it was, not to cater to our every DMB desire, but for children. Music in the classroom needs to be an essential part of a child's development, I didn't have to worry about not having that pleasure, it's strange that in 2003 we do. Great job to the band for playing as hard as you did and raising as much money as you did. You've made a difference and its appreciated.

Best DMB concert I have ever attended, which isn't much... But there was a lot of enthusiasim from both the band and the crowd, which always makes for a good show. It was nice to hear a good mixture of the popular, classic songs, and some of the stuff that the more "hardcore fans" enjoy.

Okay, first off, whoever has anything negative to say about the bands performance and the overall vibe of this show is out of their mind. Okay, the lines were a little ridiculous, but what did you expect. They pushed 100,000 people through 2 small entrances. Anyways, I got there early, and was lucky enough to get a spot with some pals way up front. We were actually in front of the VIP section. Now for the performance. I have never seen the band go so "all out" like they did here ever before. Dave was going crazy the entire show. From the first moment when he walked on stage, and he jumped straight up in the air, to the end of the show with the band having a group pic taken, it was amazing. Dave was dancing, scatting, and yelling at the top of his lungs the entire show. I just dont see how someone can complain when they get, DDTW, Ants, 2 Step, Warehouse, Nancies, Jimi (w/ Warren) Cortez, and to top that a 3 song encore.

User: McCindy

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The energy of the crowd and of the band just blew me away. Everyone knew all the songs and was singing and dancing along. The setlist was spectacular with DDTW, DN, Warehouse, AATW, Crush, etc. Cortez was random but amazing with Warren Haynes and Jimi Thing with the lead into Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth" just sent shivers down my spine when hearing 90,000 people singing the chorus softly, amazing amazing show and I still can't believe I was actually there. Best show yet DMB!

One word-unbelievable. I came down from Boston on the Fung-Wah bus with a friend who was on crutches the whole night. After waiting in line for close to 4 hours we finally got in and ran (or hobbled) into the midst of 100,000 screaming fans. We didn't get back home 'til maybe 6:30-7 the next morning and I did a marathon class day from 9 to 5, but it was completely worth it. First time I ever saw Nancies live, and Dave's little bartender intro to it kicked ass. Hearing 100,000 people cheering during the Stop Time intro to Warehouse is something I'll never forget. And Cortez the Killer...what a kick ass song, so unexpected I just wish I had heard it earlier. These guys never cease to amaze me.

It's a tough call to say which was better...12/21/02 or this show. Maybe they are tied for best. This show was too focused on covering all of the hits. There were pretty much no rareties..i was expecting to hear a few...but I guess thats to be expected of a concert that will be on DVD and CD...want to appeal to the masses I guess. The atmosphere was unbeatable. The lighting setup was off the hook with all those spotlights..made it seem like there was a ceiling overhead. Jimi Thing was the shit w/ the jam at the end. 9/24/03- The greatest concert of my life! My friend and I kept the 2003 tour tradition of killing a bottle of Jack before the show alive. We had a couples doobs of the good shit as well, and luckily everyone else on the lawn had some so we all shared and had a great time. The excitement of this city was unreal I had never been to NYC before, and I was shocked. After the intro, Don't Drink the Water blew me away to start the show. Best I've ever heard. So Much To Say>ASTB>Too Much kept the energy rolling to a new level. Then the best version of Granny I've ever heard, great jam at the end. Energy just kept building. Then, Stefan introduced Crush on the bass. During the middle of Boyd's solo, it just hit me, I was really at this amazing show, it was a moment I will never forget. Then, Dancing Nancies, "Bartender please, I know it's late.." "Hook Me Up!" love that! When the band began the seague into Warehouse, you could feel the energy and excitement was ready to go to a new level, and when Dave played the opening licks to Warehouse, the crowd exploaded into the loudest roar I've ever heard at any kind of event, WOW! Ants, R&R, Two Step, Help Myself were all great. Then, Warren Haynes came out and joined in on Cortez The Killer. Amazing. Jimi Thing was next, and it was without a doubt the best song of the night and the best version I've ever heard by far. Star Spangled Banner>Watchtower was a great way to wrap up the set, FIRE! Grey Street, WYA, Stay ended an amazing show. I must say that I had a blast on this tour, I don't think anything can ever top it, this concert marked an end to the best tour, and the pinnacle of a band that's been great for over a decade now. I will never forget the times I had on this tour or this night. Take care everyone, I'll see y'all down the road.

And then the rest of the show..were all tunes that I had heard the first two shows I went to. Once again....i think i went in with too high of expectations....I was figuring since this was their last show this summer, and it was in Central Park in front of 100,000 people, that they were going to play some rare shit. Simply amazing. Everyone's saying it but I'll just reiterate it: Jimi Thing was amazing!!!! Dave's scat outro was simply mind blowing, I damn near cried. I've never seen Dave so passionate as he was last night. During the scatting he was dancing and jumping all over the place. You could really tell the whole band was really into it. Nancies into Warehouse was awesome (my first time seeing Nancies). When Crush started up I thought that was going to be a momentum killer but the band jammed the hell out of it and Leroi's solo at the end sealed the deal. ASTB gets better everytime I see it. The 3 song encore was sweet as hell and Watchtower was just awesome, I love that song as a closer. Cortez the Killer was nice surprise and Warren Hayes and Dave really tore that one up. All in all it was the best show I've been to and I think the best show I will ever go to. I can't wait till the DVD gets released in November.

The night was beutiful, the Manhatten Skyline was gorgeous, and the Dave Matthews Band was OUTSTANDING to say the least! I dont understand how anyone could have negative words about this show. It was Epic, a religious experience, whatever you want to call it, It was Amazing!!! I have seen them 12 times and this was the best of course! I dont know if anyone could ever put on a show to top that. Fuck it,,I know they couldnt!

I can't believe it...What an unbelievable thrill...I will never ever ever forget it. A night with Dave and all his friends is a night that will last a lifetime and more.

This by far was the best DMB concert that I've been to. The whole band was on fire and the setlist was solid! Stefan's solo of the Star Spangled Banner was awesome. I was very impressed with Mr. Warren Haynes. Concerts like this only happen once in a life time and I was just excited to be a part of it.

Unreal show. Cortez rocked. Well worth missing 9 classes and driving 19 hours from Minnesota. Would easily do it again.

like whoa. that whole fiasco of waiting in that absurd line outside the park was well worth it...although my employer wouldn't grant me the opportunity to wait 12 hours like some, i was happy to wait for the 3 that I did, and would have been fine waiting 8 more. the show was un-f*cking-believeable. my fantasy of simon and garfunkle coming out for a "me and julio" rendition never came to fruition, but never the less, i was sans disappointment. Nancies, Cortez, and a little Buffalo Springfield action...blew me away. All in all, the stage and surrounding screens were fine, but some of the speaker set ups weren't audibly sufficient in all areas of the park. Most noticably in the central area. There wasn't any sound emitting from the two rear "tower" screens (that worked anyway) and crowd chatter seemed to be a bit of a distraction... But, as some moved forward, we moved further back to find a nice landing directly in front of the last screen where the sound was incredible. The whole light is faster than sound thing created a "dubbed" effect when watching the screen, but no matter...twas excellent. Look for the guy in the Yankees cap on the DVD...that's me. :D

I was so close to the stage. Waiting 10 hrs and having a full out sprint to the stage with my girlfriend was so worth it. Best DMB concert I have ever been to!
