First full show, though it was a festival. The main stage line-up was Rusted Root, then Lenny Kravitz, Blues Traveler, then DMB. The brutal sun had gone down, the set list was like listening to the best of their first few albums, songs we were just beginning to love and make memories with. The show was unforgettable, though hazy now almost 24 years later. The Summer of 96, and that time in my life in general, are too special to fully express here. Fun to think about.

First DMB show! Dave seemed extra trippy! at least to this newbie. He also dedicated this show to the passengers and crew of TWA Flight 800 which crashed the day before off of Long Island, NY. I was annoyed with the two drunk guys yelling, "SATELLITE, PLAY FUCKING SATELLITE!" the whole show.

Good ending to a great day at the 1996 HORDE festival. Rusted Root and Lenny Kravitz rocked. Only time to go backstage.

It was a very hot day.
Rusted Root, Lenny Kravitz, and Blues Traveler rocked. It was great to see DMB. They had lots of energy, but we were exausted by the end of the day. We ended up getting into the Mississippi River model pools to cool off.

First Show. Lenny, Rusted Root, Blues Traveler and DMB. Mostly a set of Crash; a great afternoon of music.

The show was on Mud Island, not Tom Lee Park. The band was on fire that night!

2nd show for me in less than 3 months...same bill as Rusted Root, Lenny Kravitz, and Blues Traveler.

Roadtripped with my two brothers and my dad from Tampa, Florida. Got there 8 hours early, saw Wavy Gravy on the people mover on the way to the island, front row right-of-center for the entire day. Unbelievably hot. Unbelievably unbelievable. Made it on MTV a few times. Lenny Kravitz grabbed my hand while he was climbing up onto the barricade to sing Let Love Rule. And then, of course, there was Dave...
