Episode 74 - You have Got Questions, We dance around them

June 5th, 2016 - 1:31:16
The Crew was merely 2 Live this week; Jake and Joe M took the helm whilst Matt felt the Bern, so to speak. With the band off this past week and based on twitter feedback, this episode is listener question heavy. Also addressed is the latest release announcement (a Dave Solo from 1996), the Bernie Sanders Dave Solo performance, and the latest DMBHub update that you don’t want to miss!

Episode 69 - Night Zero Gathers, And Now the Party Begins

April 30, 2016 - 1:32:05
Tour Time is Here! It’s the final podcast prior to the start of the tour, or at least the Ants Night Zero party and the excitement level is at a ten. The boys dive into the final tour expectations and theories, give a rundown of the setlist game (give it a try!), recap the upcoming activities around Charlottesville, and release a great new feature on the DMB Hub app, Personal Stats! We bring back Joe M's DMB Vote Song Series with a seasonal song, and we rip through our greatest number of questions yet.

Episode 67 - Once on a Wild Sunday Afternoon

April 18, 2016 - 1:24:02
We all got what we've all been waiting for. Finally - this year's Warehouse disc track listing! We debate what's more special on that disc - Shotgun or Broken Things, and the boys banter about FLAC vs MP3. Live Trax 37 gets some love as it's now available to download, and we chat up the new Ants app just released on iPhone. We wrap with listener questions and a whole lotta Joe M's DMB Vote Song Series! Featured Music: Broken Things (11.30.2012), Once on a Wild Afternoon (6.17.92)

Episode 66 - #DMB1Set and Bathroom Breaks

April 11, 2016 - 1:23:10
This week we get the biggest tour ndews that has come since the actual announcement of the tour itself, #DMB1Set.  The guys discuss the late change and what to expect. Plus they try to touch on a very sensitive/hot topic; that all indications point to DMB pulling out of the Charlotte show.  We also share more details about the upcoming epic Ants Party, Joe M's DMB Vote Song Series pulls a good one, and possibly our best listener questions.  Cornbread Anyone?

Episode 65 - Mono Loco Noche Cero

April 4, 2016 - 1:27:25
On this week’s episode we look at the latest announcements about the Charlottesville show just one month out; including the DMB pop-up gallery and the location of the Official Ants Party. Plus we dive into the ticket sales data of the summer tour. And this week's real treat, Joe M's DMB Vote Song Series ping pong ball machine goes bonkers with some major obscurity and we test our skills. #antspodcast questions too!

Episode 64 - Coup d'Ville

March 27, 2016 - 1:12:51
The mysterious teases have come, and just as quickly gone.  We now know what they are all about, a charity Charlottesville show! The boys break down all the details from the announce, placement, anniversary, speculation, and expectations. Plus they drop a major announcement related to Cville (with a few additional teases sprinkled in.) And after feedback from live Periscope listeners, the first ever Live Joe's DMB Vote Song Series draw occurs. Happy Easter from the guys!

Episode 63 - A Van Down by the Warehouse

March 20, 2016 - 1:32:38
What a week in DMB! The band hits a major milestone with the 25th anniversary of their very first concert, and on top of that we get an amazing treat, Recently from that first show. And if that wasn’t enough, the “Pink Warehouse Video” curiously emerges and the debate is rampant.  We take all your comments in both the video debate and the Song Series, and finish with #AntsPodcast questions. Hang on for a fun one!

Episode 62 - Things Here Are Not As They Seem

March 14, 2016 - 1:39:58
Lost tweets, lost power, and lost agenda. Bear with the boys as they overcome the distractions and ramp into the DMB content. In this episode they discuss a recent Dave cameo, the upcoming Warehouse disk, and the passing of DMB’s Agent/Friend. Plus this week’s Song Series sparks surprise, debate, and story time, then finishes with your questions!

Episode 61 - Back on Trax

March 5, 2016 - 1:20:29
Last week we impatiently gushed about the upcoming Live Trax 37 deep archive pull, but in the meantime DMB has given us a new old-school DMBLive release.  The guys talk about the significance of the show, and a deeper look into the past week’s Song Series of I’ll Back You Up.  Plus this week’s song sends the guys down memory lane, along with your listener questions. Episode 60 - Live Trax, Not Live Flood Zone

February 28, 2016 - 1:28:55
The boys dive into what it takes to get yourself a music-related Oscar, given that this week's episode is counter-programmed against the big show. That's ok, the Nielsen ratings support us. Live Trax 37 is a big one, and corrects the record in Tour Central for a rare stump of Jake! We close out with tons of listener questions; we love them, thank you!.

Episode 59 - Drinkers and Brokers

February 22, 2016 - 1:13:59
Out with one target (The Warehouse), and in with a new one (Ticketmaster). With public on-sale for the Summer 2016 Tour this past Friday, most of us got to relive the anguish of ticket confirmation day all over again. After we contemplate, and eventually dismiss, a mutiny, we all settle in and accept that the laws of supply and demand have us by our wallets. A sneak peak at our latest "In the Spotlight" release and listener questions round out this "short" episode.

Episode 58 - This Warehouse Frightens Me (See I'm Leaving)

February 15, 2016 - 1:30:00
Valentine's Day 2016 brought a lot of love this year in terms of Warehouse ticket confirmations; or did it? As always, it's a contentious topic and this year especially so, with the tour-less 2017 looming just over the horizon. We've got the stats to break down on just how likely you were to score some seats through the lottery, and you may be surprised to see how your tenure in the Warehouse affects the likelihood.

Episode 57 - Superb Owl Review

February 8, 2016 - 1:26:16
Super Bowl L is in the books, and with that, so is Ants Podcast LVII. Matt, Jake and Joe review Dave Matthews Band's Pier 70 performance, and that includes drooling over that Passion intro to start the show. Even in the off season, there's lots to talk about, including the 1300+ shows now available to download at antsmarching.org. We reveal the winner of Song Series Vol. 5 and announce Vol. 6. We even resurrect Jake's "In the Spotlight" feature, shedding light on the original performance of "Sister", and it's not what you're thinking.

Episode 56 - What Will Become of 2017?

February 1, 2016 - 1:55:34
With the Summer 2016 tour dates dropping along with the news about the 2017 hiatus, we couldn't wait to record another episode. And, true to form, this is (say it with me) our "longest episode yet!(TM)" We dive into the tour dates, what the hiatus may mean for the band, whether it really *is* a "hiatus", and of course reveal the winner of Volume III of our Song Series. This episode is nearly two hours long, so Dive In(TM)!

Episode 55 - Early DMB, Early Ants, Late Dates

January 24, 2016 - 1:03:57
Early DMB, Early Ants, Late DatesThe guys are wound up in this week's cast!  A little drinking, a little hacking and as usual some strong opinions. They dig deep into DMB’s early days thanks to an old Charlottesville newspaper article titled “Idiot's Guide to DMB”. Plus your questions take the discussion to the early days of the website. Oh, and speaking of early, the same can’t be said about the tour dates, but that doesn’t stop the debate. Also a bit of history on #34 and the results from the Song Series fan vote. Enjoy!

Featured in this episode:

Featured Music: Code Magenta - Code Magenta (Early 90’s LeRoi band(trio)/song.)

Episode 54 - I Can Haz Tour Dates?

January 17, 2016 - 57:11

Episode 53 - 2015 is a Wrap, Let Us Discuss

January 12, 2016 - 1:26:52
2016 is here and it’s just about the most wonderful time of the year… tour date release time. But before we do that, 2015 needs a proper send off, and some speculation on what 2016 will bring. We kick things off with a review of Europe and the unique sets/shows/venues that band played, then take an in depth look at 2015 tour attendance numbers, and close out with your twitter questions. A bit of built up tension gets released too.

Featured in this episode:

Featured music: Dreamed I Killed God, Everyday (with Matisyahu)

Episode 52 - Scoping Out the Gorge

September 10, 2015 - 1:11:51
Matt and Joe return from the Gorge with chapped lips (the wind, you pervs) and a weekend full of thoughts to share with Jake and the rest of y'all. We talk about the wild swing from Gorge night 2 to night 3, and of course the Ants Periscope during each night's set break. Oh, and Joe's going to Europe, as if you're surprised. Listen in!

Featured in this episode:

Featured music: Anyone Seen the Bridge -> Too Much from 8/1/2015

Episode 51 - Comeback Kids or Slow Starters?

August 15, 2015 - 1:23:32
There have been nine new shows to discuss since our last podcast and for once one thing is not up for debate; they rock. The three amigos (with their drinks) discuss the highlights from the latest shows, rank the best of the bunch, and debate the tour developments.  We have a lot to discuss this podcast from the band keeping us on our toes, to your variety of questions.

Episode 50 - New Trends and Shotcalling

July 21, 2015 - 1:19:32
The tour is now finally into two-night stands with Camden and SPAC and we get to see what kind of variety the band is playing. New trends have started to emerge among the acoustic set, the encore, and with the guests. As usual comment on if we want these new trends to Stay or Leave. Also we do a bit of shotcalling, as we recorded this podcast just before the latest two-night stand at Deercreek (read as Klipsh for casual fans). We don’t want to spoil it, but let’s just say we hope we didn’t Let You Down.

Episode 49 - This Episode Is Not Unpleasurable

June 26, 2015 - 1:10:16
With a couple of weeks gone since our last podcast, Joe's obviously had some time to hit the books and brush up on his familiarity with Webster's. The gang talks about these past few shows and goes full-on ESPY's, but without the controversy. Hear our picks for the Dave Matthews Band Summer 2015 tour first segment MVP and so much more!

Episode 48 - We Extemporize As Tour Takes Form

June 9, 2015 - 1:15:18
With ten shows down the summer tour has some definite shape and plenty to discuss, including the impressive recent form. Plus, Golden Pipes Matt returns from his overseas hiatus and it gives us a chance to recap the start of the tour. We also discuss the three new pieces of music we have in front of us, and get to as many of your questions as we can. Note, it’s recommended you listen to this podcast with a dictionary close by.

Episode 47 - Fonz Tweets Guest

May 27, 2015 - 1:01:05
Now we're a bit bullish. We pulled off the pod without Matt last week, and we decided to double-up. On this week's podcast, controversy or debate? The DMB community was definitely up in arms last week, but not all on the same page. We'll recap what happened and then give our take on the current state of things. Plus we'll discuss the new Rolling Stone article, latest guests, and new song. Then to wrap it up, a few comments on the latest series of shows and then we answer your questions!

Episode 46 - Tour Time Minus One

May 18, 2015 - 1:06:12
Can you hear me? Is this thing on? It’s summer time which equals tour time and there’s plenty of exciting stuff to discuss that we crammed into this latest podcast. Webcast, New Songs, DMB2SETS, First 3 Shows Reviews, New Album News, etc. Golden Pipes MC and Host Matt is roaming all over Europe so we attempt to bring a podcast to you without the help of Mr Podcast. If you’re seeing this then we did something right!

Episode 45 - This Is Not Episode 46

March 24, 2015 - 1:02:58
Yes, this episode is introduced as Episode 46 in the podcast. Math is hard; just ask Joe M. Anyway, we kick off the new year with an hour-long catch-up session that touches on all things tour, 2-sets, and of course, some healthy Alpine speculation.

Episode 44 - Gorge View Lager

September 5, 2014 - 1:24:27
The summer break is over and the band is back in full swing. We review our pre-2nd leg predictions and find that we were all, well, wrong. Matt and Joe talk about their experience at Gorge 2014 including some great friends made. Once again, our longest podcast yet, so you'll have to check it out!

Episode 43 - Halfway Home, Kinda

August 8, 2014 - 1:02:23
DMB is on break, so we thought we'd also take the opportunity to skip a week and put our feet up for a while. Now, we're back, and we tackle the first "half" of the tour, giving our overall thoughts and make our predictions for what to expect for the final West Coast stretch of #DMB2Sets. A little fall tour talk sprinkled in as well.

We follow up our longest episode ever...with another longest episode ever. But this one has more Kevaroo. That's right; your favorite Ants Mod and mine joins us to talk about the Twitter bonfire he lit and the resulting fallout. We also chat Jacksonville webcast, the Gorge Caravan supporting acts, and the dip in attendance numbers.

Episode 41 - #41

July 11, 2014 - 1:17:18
In honor of the longest song the band has ever played live, we figured we would record the longest podcast we've ever recorded! OK not really; we hoped to narrow it down to 41 minutes. Fat chance, that. Anyway, join us as we review the latest shows, and even get a live call in from our very own B-rad who is at tonight's show!

Episode 40 - #40

July 3, 2014 - 1:05:54
Hey, if the band can not title a song, we feel we don't need to title this episode! We cover the last three shows of the tour and dive into the trends starting to form (good and bad) on some of the more frequently played songs of the tour. We've also got tons of your questions to answer! Enjoy Independence Day weekend, everyone!

Episode 39 - #JoeM2Sets

June 25, 2014 - 1:07:03
Another weekend of DMB shows, another weekend of DMB shows Joe M attended! Our resident groupie dishes about his weekend at Deer Creek as well as his upcoming plans for even more shows. The boys talk about their favorite shows, the Gorge caravan weekend, and of course, Jimi Thing.

Episode 38 - The Lovely Ladies Are Gone

June 17, 2014 - 1:05:18
Well that was fast. Here we thought the Ladies would be with us for the long haul, or at least the better part of a month. Camden weekend comes, and poof, they're gone. We talk tapers, Paul Simon covers, and in general, just have a Good Good Time. See what I did there?

Episode 37 - The Lovely Ladies Are Back

June 8, 2014 - 1:07:10
This was supposed to be one of those episodes where we all just sort of stare at each other with nothing to say. Dave Matthews Band must have been jonesin' for another episode, however, and pulled out a guest appearance that they knew would send the community into a frenzy: The Lovely Ladies.

Episode 36 - Lemme Take Care of These F*$@^ Dogs!

June 2, 2014 - 1:09:03
With Jake off on an excursion, Matt turns to Joe to bring the noise. And noise does he bring! Joe was at SPAC this weekend and gave us the straight dope on what it was like to be there, the crowd, the sets, and oh, that encore.

Episode 35 - Trifecta

May 28, 2014 - 1:18:17
Three episodes in a row? How can this be? Matt, Joe and Jake are at it again and having a blast reviewing the #DMB2Sets Dave Matthews Band 2014 Summer Tour. We take your questions, talk about some new site ideas, and discuss the Babe Ruths of the Setlist Game.

Episode 34 - The Tour Bus Is Rolling

May 21, 2014 - 1:08:00
We did it! Somehow, someway, we were able to stick to our goal of having a weekly tour podcast and we knock it out of the park with this one. #DMB2Sets kicked off in style, as does our analysis of the format. We chat about that curtain, backwards house music, and how the acoustic set is wiping the slate clean on even the least desirable songs. Oh, and Joe and Matt absolutely bury Jake during the question and answer portion. An absolute must listen!

Episode 32 - Return of the Mack

    July 14, 2012 - 1:23:47
Matt returns to join Jake, Joe M and Kevin to host our longest (is it?) podcast yet! We touch on the tour so far, the new album, updated mobile apps, and the general BS you all have come to love us for! Oh, and Jake of course waxes hyperbolic about the new album.

Episode 31 - New Album + New Tour = New Podcast

    April 1, 2012 - 58:04
The Ants crew came out from hibernation thanks to the warm weather (and the new album and new tour news didn't hurt either.) The guys talk about what they see for the upcoming year, what they expect from the summer tour, and how the album is progressing. They field the current front page question, are you more excited about the upcoming tour or album. And they close it out with twitter questions.

    Episode 30 - Ants Caravan

    June 21, 2011 - 44:20
With Matt and Joe still traveling the world, Jake takes the helm once again, and is joined by everyone's favorite Moderator from Florida, Kevin, for analysis. Also, a special guest drops by to give his hopes and aspirations for the Atlantic City Caravan stop. It's nobody that special, just RJ from the boards. But he does have some good perspective. Give it a listen!

    Episode 29 - Merry Christmas

    December 29, 2010 - 52:04
With Matt and Joe away finishing their holiday shopping, Jake hosts with moderator Kevaroo (aka Kevin) providing the flowery commentary. The two talk about the entire 2010 year, the Top 50 list, and what 2011 might hold for DMB... will they tour? Well, the two have an opinion on that.

Episode 28 - The Return to West Palm Beach

    June 30, 2010 - 55:05
With the 2010 Summer Tour in full swing, the boys rap about what kind of tour it's been so far and our own personal experiences at shows so far this summer. All the info you need for Ants Party 3 at West Palm Beach is also covered. A must-listen!

Episode 26 - Sorry for the Wait!

    April 28, 2010 - 46:53
After an extended break (again), Joe, Jake, and Matt finally coordinate their schedules and kick out a new episode. We review the Europe tour, some songs we'd like to see come back, and what to expect for the upcoming summer tour. Our iPhone and Android apps get featured as well!

Episode 25 - Decade in Review

    December 18, 209 - 57:27

    Episode 1 - Pilot

Briefly touching on the Summer Tour, current band news as well as Ants site features and news, this show serves as a jumping off point for what we think will be yet another cool addition to the site.
