Dave Matthews part of Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief telethon (8pm today)
Posted by Sarah Bangs in TV Appearances at 3:32pm on Tuesday, Sep 12th, 2017Dave Matthews is using his extra time off this summer for the greater good of humanity. It has been confirmed by the band that Dave will join the list of participants for the Hand in Hand charity event. Millions of Americans were impacted from two powerful hurricanes, Harvey and Irma, which devastated parts of Texas and Florida this month. It is unknown if his participation will be at this point. Over a 130 'stars' have been announced to be participating in some way in the one hour event. Dave's part could be in the form of a solo or larger group performance, a general appearance, a special message, or even as answering phones. Your guess is as good as ours at this point. The event is being broadcasted across all major TV networks starting at 8pm ET tonight.
This event is in addition to the much anticipated benefit show on Sept 24th for the Concert for Charlottesville where the full band is scheduled to perform. Reports are flowing in of confirmations, but mostly declines, for the Concert for Charlottesville today. It is still unknown as to whether or not the Concert for Charlottesville will be webcasted. The interest of the show appears to be through the roof. With seemingly everyone being denied for tickets, a webcast would be a beneficial idea to gather more funds for the “Concert For Charlottesville Fund”.
