As far as the lovely ladies appearances it has to be intentional. As of 8/15/15 they have not done the same venue twice since 2 sets started last year. While certain cities like Atlanta missed both years, they have skipped every venue they did last year this year. The gorge might still get them again this year. However as far as non gorge venues the powers that be are making sure they do not repeat the same venues.

Glad you all mentioned the "Hani Hani's" during One Sweet World intro. People were singing it at WPB too. I was dumbfounded. Can people not tell the difference between the intros? Do they not care? And if you're going to sing lyrics to one song, while a different song is playing, could it at least be for a good song? This applies to the "Everyday" chant during #41 and double for the "Thank You" lyrics during So Damn Lucky.

Seriously dude? The OSW world intro at Alpine was something special and the band loved it. WPB should not have even tried it. There was something special in the air at Alpine this year both nights. As far as the Everyday chants during #41, that is probably the worst chant or crowd sing over there ever has been over the years.

Great episode. Really enjoyed the chat about Branford and what he brings to literally every single song he guests on. I saw him in Raleigh and then WPB N1 this year, and it seemed like every song he played on was one of the best versions I've ever heard. He truly is a special talent, and to see him, Jeff, and Rashawn all going at it together on Typical and Jimi was spectacular. If you want to hear where he sounds like a soft jazzy LeRoi just give a listen to the Raleigh or Tampa Lover Lay Down, WPB Death on the High Seas, or the WPB Cry Freedom. Jake nailed that description.

I'm glad ya'll put that clip of Death on the High Seas in there. After a couple of re-listens to that song I have become more and more of a fan. It's reminiscent of a Dave, Carter, and LeRoi tune. Thats what I envision when I hear it.

Every proponent of Loving Wings says the same thing: "They/Carter go/goes nuts at the end." That's all well and good. It's just an obnoxious, toasted shit sandwich up to that point and the payoff isn't worth it.

They should've just switched loving wings and bowa. Loving wings wasn't the best closer but whatever. They did a good job with it, but it's not the best song in the world.

I was just happy that they were mixing things up. Always enjoy guessing what may come next and literally not know

Great episode guys. Love it as always. The big takeaway I got from this episode is that even within the 3-member AntsMarching.org founders, there is significant difference of opinion on songs that are perceived to be either universally beloved (Loving Wings, Halloween) or universally derided (Gravedigger, Spaceman). Goes to show that even amongst the die hard community, there is no such thing as a "universal" opinion on anything.

Except for Be Yourself.

Exactly. Peoples personal opinions don't decide if a Song is a good closer or not. The jam eas great and left everyone on a high note going into set break.

In case you missed it (but how could you?)...here's a replay of the first ever (I think) Periscope intermission review from Joe and Matt. Nice job boys. My favorite part is Matt's reaction to people walking in front of the camera. Podcasts are great, but could this be the start of the new-age podcast via Periscope? I was quickly rebuffed in the Podcast 50 thread about them possibly pulling off the podcasts via Periscope...but how hard can it be for you guys to meet up at coordinated shows during the tour? You've set the precedent with the Gorge intermission. Make it happen.
