Can’t speak for Jimi Thing but satellite is supported by a unique riff, unique vocal melody. At the time of its release, our world was becoming more intertwined w technology, and people were questioning our new way of life w satellites above monitoring our lives at every moment. The lyrics are simple, but they capture some level of irony. “Satellite string from the moon,…, peeping Tom for the mother station”. He contrasts a beautiful line with something rather foreboding about this new way of life. His lyrics are not magical, but they are simple, good - if not great - and fit the song
