Looking for some feedback. We are staying at the Hilton and have to take the shuttle over to the events.

How is the shuttle been in previous years?

There hasn’t been a shuttle to moon palace. In 2020/2022 they only offered one resort (Moon Palace)

Now, in 2017-2018-2019, they had like 5 different resorts. Always heard great things about the shuttles those years.

Really appreciate the feedback. Everything seems to be top notch and well organized but wanted to hear from fellow fans regarding their experience.

    Wish I had more intel.

I would imagine, or hope, there will be multiple
Shuttles per day with beer flowing. Also a great time to meet and chat with other fans. Google
Maps says 19 mins so probably more like 30ish door to door?

    From the website:

Transportation will be offered from 11am-1:30am each concert day.

Please note access to Moon Palace restaurants and bars outside of event activation areas is not included.

I would think you get access to event areas

So pool Bar during pool sets
    Post show buffet setup

Although last year we ate in the venue post show! Everything stayed open for awhile. They weren’t kicking us out at all.

Woah, that's something we totally missed. Went back to the room and ordered room service one night - took like 2 hours after the show. Didn't even think to try the in-venue food. Glad I saw this!

To add to that, as far as I could tell (I could be wrong), but (outside the venue) all the outdoor food/bars were closed post-show except for that Tiki hut bar with swings at Sunrise.

Everything indoors was still bumpin, but we're in Mexico in February! We want to be outside!

Last year on n3 I ate at the venue post show (samosas and tacos)

Then went to the sunrise buffet with friends

Then went to the beach bonfire and drank

Then back to the lobby and got a ham and cheese crepe to take back to my room and eat. Along with macaroons of course!

    3 post show meals

I’ve never ordered room service. Just heard too many horror stories.

This year for the other groups (crash my playa and playing in the sand) they had outdoor buffets at nizuc post show on their schedules.

I vaguely remember that from 2020 at nizuc too.

Last year I stayed at sunrise post show so I can’t chime in on that.

Thanks Cheryl! You jogged my memory, you're right! They did have post-show buffets at Nizuc. I stand corrected.

What kind of food did they have?

Honestly staying in the venue n3 last year was clutch. The picnic tables opened up and the food and bars were open for at least an hour after. Plus they had it decorated so cool.

Guess I just didn’t want to leave!

Pretty sure I posted these last year, but it was in the old thread. Either way here’s a few videos I made of the venue:

Been a long time DNB fan from the start and while I have seen DMB in concert this will be the first time seeing Dave and Tim solo and my wife and I are looking forward to it. While DMB is one of my favorite bands I am not so much about fans clubs, or following bands around. However, I see this trip to Mexico as more of an overall experience rather than just another concert.

I am really hoping for a chill crowd.

More and more I prefer D&T over DMB...DMB shows to me have just become a wall of unrecognizable noise. And a D&T crowd is always better than a DMB crowd.

Crowd there can be quite loud in certain pockets. Comes with sun and all day booze. My advice is to find a spot in the middle away from the ocean side. Better acoustics.

Not a crowd or rail person anyway. It will be nice to be able to relocate if needed. Not sure about the pool parties. I don't care for what I have heard from the supporting acts so far, not my thing, so I am thinking that we might just avoid those entirely and do something else. Perhaps I am an outlier here, but I just don't get the choices made for supporting acts unless they were just what was available.

Yep. I’m definitely enjoying Dave and Tim More these days.

You’re going to have an amazing time!

The people and vibes are unmatched imo.
What section are you staying in?

I am really enjoying Mt. Joy. It might be worth walking over that way to check out the scene and move on. But I didn’t do any of the pool sets last year.

I think Dave selects acts he wants to support.. lots of crossover with Gorge openers isn’t there?
    (Or his management does)

Some of the PITS and CMP attendees have posted about these delays, hope that it is over by the time we get there.

Yes I have felt that way for awhile. I am sure that this will be an unpopular opinion but as much as I love the DMB, I feel that they have become increasingly bloated and self indulgent over time. Thankfully the music and talent is too strong for them to become Phish, or Dead and Co, but at times...

This is why I like Dave and Tim so much, they strip the music to its core leaving nothing to hide and no fluff. When it works which is most of the time, it becomes magic.

Some of the PITS and CMP attendees have posted about these delays, hope that it is over by the time we get there.
99% sure the delays they complained about were due to the construction by the airport. Same posts in the main Moon Palace groups and it's been going on since last fall.

The uber driver/taxis issues (which is very recent) won't effect anyone on this trip I don't think, unless they are planning on leaving the resort... which I personally wouldn't recommend.

We’re 20 days out and this thread is on page 2!!!
I’m already looking forward to that first drink at the bar outside the airport.

We’re getting so close! Really excited to be heading back for my first since 2019. These openers should be really fun!

I am thinking about creating a new thread, ***Labor Dave Weekend at the Gorge 2024!*** to get a jump on it. Too soon? Or do I need to have "official" in the title to really get some attention, kind of new at this, please advise.

FYI you can now pull up your reservation on the moon palace app by entering your package ID as your reservation number. My room number isn't displayed yet but it has come up eventually in year's past.

Disclaimer: even when your room number is displayed, it is subject to change. Mine didn't, but apparently it's happened to others.
