Jeff Coffin is a world-class musician and will easily be at worst the second best musician on stage this summer. He's a few steps beyond phenomenal. Hell yes I'm excited.

jeff used it a lot during Jimi Thing and sometimes in 41.

heres also a really good song from his work with the flecktones features him and a bassoon player both using effects.

i'm not big on claiming songs won't be the same without Roi if Jeff hasn't even played on them yet....how do you know he won't rock this shit out of Say Goodbye and Typical Situation? give him a chance before you start shitting all over him...and to those people who haven't heard him....he's more talented than Roi..you're in for a treat but you gotta give him a shot

I cannot imagine the emotions I will feel hearing DMB for the first time without LeRoi. In the next breath I am stoked to be introduced to the music of DMB with Jeff.

    Will forever be missed.

    My thoughts exactly.

Jeff added a uniqe sound to the band last summer, and I'll be hoping to hear the following because of him.

    Grey Street
    Warehouse
    YMDT
    Jimi Thing
    Stay
    #41

And plenty of others that I can't think of or weren't played last year. Should be a great show.

I've never seen the band with Coffin...and I am very excited to see such a great musician on stage with my favorite band. But like all of us I'm sure, Roi not being on that stage is going to be weird. Those are his sax lines, and no one plays em like Roi. Jeff will certainly add a different and extremely talented flair to extended fills and solos and for that I am very excited. It isn't everyday you get to see 2 world class musicians on stage at the same time like you can with Carter and Jeff.

I don't like most of the stuff Jeff played last year, but I'm willing to give him another chance before I pass further judgment on him. I'm confident that he'll do a much better job this time around.

I'm sure he will too. He'll definitely be more confident and louder on some of the riffs where he was lacking a bit last summer.

Seeing Jeff play live is quite a treat if you haven't seen him before. If you are a jazz fan, like I am, watching a sax god on stage with your favorite band is mindblowing. Jeff had me rocking and bouncing up and down each time I saw a show last year, that man can move you through the sax.

Jeff played Crush at Noblesville last year, N2. He and Timmy had a solo battle against each other on stage. it was EPIC.

I totally agree with this. I really didn't like Jeff last year at all, because it was in comparison to Roi, but I think he still did a hell of job for filling in last minute. When I first heard 41 from Rothbury I almost threw up, but he got better as the tour progressed. Hopefully this year he will settle in a little bit and find his groove with the rest of the band. I definitely thought 08 was overdone on his part.
