Re: Official Grateful Dead Thread

For part 1 of the 09/02/78 Giants Stadium show Sendspace tells me "Sorry, the file you requested is not available."

I've been working on fixing tags/album art/file folders of all of my Dead shows this week (I'm completely anal about stuff like that) and I'll post a couple favorites tomorrow. I just checked and I currently have about 150 high quality shows to choose form now.

As for the rest of your post, I look forward to this. I laid on my couch today and listened to all of that 11-17-73 show you posted last week and the first half of the Closing of Winterland show.

Okay, where are my veteran GD listeners? This run might not appease to you guys that are just starting out, but as always, you're welcome to grab it. This was a huge run for the GD, as there were lots of doubts about the GD's future. Jerry was a few years off of his near-death diabetic coma, that forced him to re-learn how to play guitar. Many GD fans were branching off into Phish (yes, this happened, big time. As Jerry (and the rest of the Dead, save Phil), got progressively worse, many fans headed over to see what the young red head from Vermont had to offer.

This entire run is a fantastic run. I am uploading the first to nights, as I am still working on night 3. It would not be fair to give you one of these shows, because it would just not do the run justice. This run deserves your full attention.

Some notes from a photographer (and veteran Dead-head)

Also, for the album artwork, I put a cool picture of Jerry, I found. But, I recently found a picture of one of the tickets from the weekend. Which, IMO, is a cooler AA.

    Here it is. Enjoy, phriends!

US Blues. I have been to 10-12 Dead, Furthur, Rat Dog, P&F and have never heard it live yet.

For people that have seen Furthur... worth $50? I would like to see them in Nov when they play the DCU Center but that seems like an awful lot.

I think it is. I know they only have 1 drummer and have added backing vocals. Bobby is getting sloppy from what I've heard. The show I saw in Feb was definitely worth $50. Hell, the vibe alone is worth $50.
