Fonz has only gotten better over the years. He can do more and his lines are an integral part of the rhythm and harmony of the songs. Boyd has not improved since the band started and (while never the model of consistency) had only gotten less consistent over the years. He still had his moments, even on the 2016 tour, but they were fewer and farther...
Jazz drummers have played well into their 80s, maybe a couple even beyond. Guys like Ellvin Jones (76) and Paul Motion (80) literally played as close to a month before they passed. They weren't playing like they did in the 30s or even 60s, but they stilled killed it on the kit.
