-Final Four men's basketball

-LL Word Series
-Kentucky Derby (I hate horse racing, but I'd make an exception for this)

This is one of Omaha’s chances to bump prices up.

Plus Omaha isn’t the easiest to get to.

Vanderbilt and NC State win to kick off the CWS. They play Monday night. Stanford and Arizona play Monday afternoon to stave off elimination.

Virginia and Mississippi St win yesterday sending the Vols and Texas to the losers bracket. next games for these folks on Tuesday.

My brother said Leiter has some of the filthiest stuff he’s ever seen, and he worked a decade in the pros before moving to NC State.

Saw him pitch in the state final as a junior (lost 1-0 to our team down here on a passed ball, I think). His curveball was absolutely unhittable. He threw it for called strikes, it was so good. Never seen a teen throw a curve like that.

I really don’t watch baseball much, but my brother’s comp was Carlos Martinez at that age + a killer curve ball and unreal pitching IQ.

Carlos was always the guy he talked about because he was a lunatic and had electric stuff.

The thing that really shocks me is how much velocity has jumped.

We had 4 kids on our u16 travel team pitch in the MAC. None of them could touch 90 in college. I know MAC baseball is several steps below the SEC, but you just didn’t see that 20 years ago.

Hurts my head that I haven’t pitched in 20 years.

NCState continues the magical run and holds off Vandy.

Stanford and Vanderbilt face off tomorrow to stave off elimination and for the right to face the Wolfpack.

Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I just sucked it up and made it happen.

Stanford is eliminated on a wild pitch (wtf?) and Vanderbilt stays alive.

They will now play NC State Friday. If necessary Saturday.

Virginia/Texas tonight to stay in the tournament.
