A headlining set without Puppets or One? When was the last time that happened? Before One was written?

When will they stop being pretentious and release a best of package?

I agree. The songs on Magnetic are still pretty good though. Strong live. Production on that album was a mess.

I disagree to a point. I prefer the Magnetic album for the reason that I think the songs are stronger overall. The production kills that album.

    Hardwired... is still great though.

Also Metallica performing at Grammys and promising "something special". Wonder what they are planning?

^ I assume Beyoncé is gonna do a collabo with them and they're going to play Formation. The heaviest version of Formation ever.

Can you picture James singing, "OK, ladies, now let's get in formation?" Because I kinda can and it sounds pretty

Bieber will be out there too. He wears Metallica shirts because he's tough.

This tour rumor with Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat is terrific news. Hopefully it's true and they come to Denver!

Yeah, maybe that's what they are waiting for. I keep asking my buddy every few days "when the fuck are they going to give us some dates?!?!?!"

Don't care at all about the opening acts... I know A7X puts on a good show, but I'm not a big fan of their music.

It would be hysterical if they walk off stage for the grammys and then they announce the dates on social media. that's what they did with the webster hall NYC show. announced minutes after they walked off the stage at global citizens festival

A7X isn't my fav but I've enjoyed their shows. Synyster Gates is stupid good. I'd be interested to see Volbeat live. They have unique sound.

But mostly I just care about Metallica

Looks like it'll be football stadiums. I'd like to make it to the Linc or Metlife if the dates work out for me.

I saw them three times last year: Night before the Super Bowl, Bridge School and the year-end gig in Oakland.

Unless they're doing something radically different, I feel like I'm OK skipping them this year.

If they're using the lighting/video rig I saw the night before SB50 then I really don't need to go.

Did you not like the rig?

They tour to Denver so infrequently I hope they add a date.

How are we hearing it's football stadiums?

A few football stadium twitters have retweeted the Monday announcement. Lincoln Financial, MetLife, and CenturyLink.

No, it was great. It looked like this, if you're curious. I just don't need to see it in the sense that it's not something I haven't seen them do before.

The only thing I expect them to do this summer that I haven't seen is new material from Hardwired.

I'm holding out for Nashville. I don't think there's a stadium that hold them in Memphis.

I like the Foxborough date... late May is a great time for an outdoor concert in NE. Although temps could reach 90's, it's not as likely as midsummer.

They seem to have left a lot of open space between dates too... wonder if they'll fill it in with more shows if there's a lot of sell outs.

stage breakdown supposedly takes 14 hours +/-, so I'm not sure how they'll be able to add more dates. hope I'm wrong.
