I want to go back. Night 1 was a lot of fun, but night 2 was a lot better in my opinion. Alpine is by far my favorite place to see them. Like everyone else has said on this thread, the hospitality is amazing and everyone is so welcoming. I'm from Michigan so I'm used to midwest hospitality, but this place is unreal with how wonderful everyone is. These were my 21st and 22nd shows, and I got to take my mom to her first shows. Those are some memories that I will never forget. She's not a huge fan like I am, but hearing her say that she was so shocked and amazed to hear all of their fans know each and every single word in unison made me almost cry. This fan base is wonderful and I feel so grateful to have been a part of this weekend. I have to say that night 2 brought a lot of happy tears to my eyes. Bartender made me about fall over, that was so unexpected, same with So Right opener. Alpine are my only shows for this year and I am so wishing I could finagle getting to Deer Creek but work isn't letting that happen.


Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful weekend. We truly are a lucky bunch.

Just got the shows loaded into my iTunes at work.... If I didn't have a KILLER headache (I'm sure partly leftover from dehydrating myself to the extreme on the weekend) I would be having a dance party in my office... Maybe I'll just listen on a nice low volume...?

Had an amazing weekend, will really miss Alpine next year. Met some great people at the resort this year and had good people around me for both nights, especially n2. Did PIT n1 and had a good time, but it just isn't for me.

The energy in that place makes all the difference in the world.

Highlights: Crush, Typical, Billies, So Right, Grace, Bartender, #41, Idea of You, YMDT (thought it was great), Nancies, Rapunzel, and obviously Two Step. Was hoping for Two Step->Last Stop or Halloween, but that ending was plenty to make me happy. Samurai, Bismarck, and Bob Law sounded great as well.

I just think the view/sound is better from a decent seat than the PIT. I had plenty of room so it wasn't horrible, just didn't love people walking by the whole show and my GF couldn't really see anything. No real complaints, probably just getting too old for the PIT.

Awesome weekend for me. Golfed Thursday (badly) and two days drinking by the pool at the resort. Met some great people on Saturday at the pool and had just an absolute blast all day. Was too lazy to go up and get posters, wanted the Sperry. Will try to track it down.

Pit is not for me. I like having an assigned seat that I can walk to and from whenever I please, while being concious of others around me.

Until next time, gonna be a long wait.

The only thing I noticed at the show was it seemed like he said "dirty" instead of "pretty" in the bridge. I haven't been in a rush to listen to the tape yet though to confirm.

Been going to Alpine for over a decade now, and this was probably my last trip (assuming I don't move back to Chicago...which I might).

I had a blast, but the band just isn't worth traveling to see anymore. So sad to know that legitimately might be my last Alpine Valley weekend.

I had some friends come up on Saturday after they went to GnR in Chicago the night before. During the day they were talking about the GnR show rocking and how they had a blast. About half way through the n2 set my buddy that is a casual fan leaned over and said how much GnR sucked compared to this and he couldn't believe how much DMB rocked out.

I know many here are jaded vets, but it was cool to see a few casual fans blown away by the energy at Alpine.

Taking two friends who have been casual fans for years to their first show on Friday in Columbus. Hoping the band brings some energy and they enjoy it. Im interested to hear their reactions afterwards.

Disagree to an extent brother. Living in St. Louis, 5 hours to Alpine or DC is nothing. Now you start talking about dumping 4k for a Gorge trip I tend to agree. Quick note: stayed at the Abbey Resort for the first time. Nice place!

I thought GNR was amazing Sunday night after catching the 2 Alpine shows but I'm completely fuckin dead right now. 3 shows in 3 nights, all rockin out hard, drinkin all day. Needed more than one day to get my head on straight.

I also had a couple friends come down for n2. 1 extreme deadhead who bashed. DMB and another who is a old school metal head. Half way through they both looked at me and said "I'm converted!" Love when that happens.
