Go show some love for these guys and rate them 5 stars on ITunes. They’re too humble to ask for that anywhere besides on their podcast, but you know you should do it, it’s well deserved and you love listening... especially this one! Wow!

Bruce, I’m pretty sure there was only one show from D&T 2003 that was video recorded, and I think it was at the Purdue show. I can tell you that the 3 shows I went to in N.C. were not videoed. Everyone here on the boards were buzzing about a possible release, because of all the cameras there but it never happened.

Just listened and heard the bit about Stefan not liking the studio choice for the LWS. Has anyone asked him why they returned there for Stand Up and other sessions?

Wasn't SU the first album they recorded at Haunted Hollow?

It was where LWS was recorded. I believe the 04 & 06 sessions were there in addition to SU

If I recall correctly, they purchased Haunted Hollow to record with Lillywhite in C’ville. Obviously, that album was not officially released. So I guess the first officially released album recorded at Haunted Hollow was Stand Up (clearly not learning from their mistake of recording in their hometown as was the case with the LW sessions).

That’s what I thought based on memory. So if Stefan didn’t like the studio, why continue to go back there?

Because Stefan has no control over anything the band does (my educated guess).

Because its dave's band and they do whatever he wants to do.

Yea, that's a great question. Dave's preference would be my guess as well.

    It's a beautiful space though

    Thanks for the kind words!!

I remember that. I seem to recall that something happened with the master for that video recording. Don't quote me on that though.

I think there will be some Dave and Tim thrown into the Drive In mix.

My guess is that a change of producers and enough distance between the LWS and Stand Up lead them back to a space they felt comfortable at, and more comfortable because they had the amiable Baston at the wheel. Watching those making of Stand Up videos, it definitely looks like the mood changed, which probably staved off some of those residual bad feelings regarding the place. They seemed to be hanging out more than actually recording an album by the look of those videos.

This was a house and grounds they purchased That had a ballroom in the bottom of it... that’s certainly accurate. I think you can see the ballroom or some part of the house in the Everyday video when Judah walks into where the band is playing.

Sometime after that, they added on and/or renovated professional studio space on to the house. Stand Up was recorded in that space.

So, it’s not like they went back into the same space to record. It went from makeshift, retrofitted space to a true professional setup.

Great job guys. Lots of interesting tidbits, particularly about the Lillywhite sessions and the Twitter war between Lillywhite and Stefan.

5/14/01 soundcheck of BEF. It went on to debut that night after being teased a few times earlier that tour

We wanted to use something from the Lillywhite-era as well as something unique from around the date we released the episode. So I think those 2 tracks accomplished that
