the only thing I don't like is the movies; I hate the way you search. But the music is straight cash. The wife has basically abandoned Pandora and their horrid way of determining what they think you like and uses Amazon music exclusively.

my only regret is I didn't sign up earlier for it.

I've looked at it, and none of the prices for things I would typically get are any better than what I can get at the Target half a mile from my house. The $5.95 box charge makes it unusable. Maybe it's just my location, but it's a disappointment there's no value for me to use it.

I wish there was a way to pay for prime month-to-month instead of yearly. That's the only reason I don't do it.

Over 100 orders for me in 2015. Like the OP, I do most of my Christmas shopping through Amazon as well. Works great (especially for the presents I would have to ship anyway). I feel like we get our money's worth from our Prime membership. Although I just occasionally stream movies, my wife streams music all the time. We also have an Echo, which I really like.

As others have said, I often choose the slower shipping option and get the $1 or $2 credit towards digital music/movies. If you do that enough times, the membership basically pays for itself.

Just started using this in November after wifey was hospitalized and barred from driving until Feb. Although we have a Walmart basically walking distance, shifting more & more of our shopping to amazon, and got most of our Xmas presents from there.

For those who have compared prices, how likely are the prices on prime going to be cheaper than Wal Mart / Target / etc?

I bought Kindle Unlimited for my mom for Christmas. I think I should have just got her a prime membership and she could have used the lending library where you get one book a month:

Probably depends on what you're buying and if you care about brand/quality. In general I'd say very similar to Walmart. Target is usually more expensive than Walmart.

When I used to be ready to buy something big on Amazon, I'd but a gift card from Kroger for the fuel points.

Now I have Amazon's store credit card which gives you 5% cash back on all Amazon purchases. This quarter's Chase Freedom 5% category includes Amazon, and then they announced they were making it 10% on Amazon this quarter. So I always consider those things when comparing. Plus the convenience of the shipping. I'd also rather buy from my computer/device than have to go into a Walmart.

Prime also gives you 1 book a month free from a selection of 5 or 6.

The program is called Kindle First. They aren't awesome/popular selections, but some sound interesting enough. Can't argue with free.

I also use subscribe & save a lot and for what I order, the prices are a lot cheaper. For instance, I can get a 6 pack of 7th Generation dish soap for $14 total before the discount. Targets price is over $3 per. The dog food I buy will be around $38-$40 after the discount; PetSmart is $50/bag. Diapers are cheaper, wipes are cheaper (on the brands I use). My only complaint is my S&S discount used to be 20% bc I was grandfathered in through Amazon Mom but they've since changed that and now it's only 15% (except diapers/wipes are still 30).

Other items probably vary, but it's more convenient (obviously).

Prime is $73 this weekend if anyone hasn't joined yet.

I used my school's email to get 6 months for free. Then it's only $49 after that.

I don't think it's live yet, but the un-curved version of this set will be $550. The un-curved version is also $550 on Best Buy's website, if someone wanted to buy and pick it up today.

You can do it per month, but you save 25% if you just pay the $99 annual.
There's a streaming only level comparable to Netflix prices and then a monthly level that includes the shipping. I don't know the exact price b/c I have this annual but I did see you can do a monthly option. (I guess it would be $10ish per month bc that's what 99*25%/12 is).

I wish. I'd kill to be Harbaugh. But in a business casual office, it's pretty much the uniform. Of course, I didn't order three pairs of the same color pants.
