***Official RARE singles/promos, vinyl, VHS thread***

I hope everybody is OK with this? I know there's a thread about rare singles etc, but it has become so "messy" and I would like to start a new thread with a more proper title.

Do you guys have anything rare, CDs, vinyls, cassettes or perhaps even VHS - all should be official releases.

This is some of the stuff I have: (which most people should recognize as quite interesting)

BTCS Vinyl in perfect condition (not sealed though, I like to listen to it)
The "Pumpkin Recently" Bama002 (Finally!!!)
Typical Situation US Promo
Satellite US Promo
11 track 1994 Promo
Tripping Billies US Promo
Two Step US Promo
Bama001
Bama003
Tribe of Heaven, Imagine We Were

What do you guys have that you are almost certain you will never part with? Any videos or cassettes?

Up until about 2000, I had every single performance and interview the boys did on tv. And then my vcr broke

Also have the vinyl which is special to me.

I have a good variety of all the promos... but they're nothing terribly special to me.

That's ok - we haven't had any time to update the site in a long while. We've got about 20 new entries ready to upload to the site...

btw: I'm on my old mail again kfl1980@hotmail.com - not that gmail account that we've used earlier. I rarely check it for new mail.

Congrats on finally picking that one up! Did the final price go over $200? Anything around that price was an absolute steal.................man great pick up there!!!! Enjoy the holy grail of DMB promos.

DMB promos are definately my passion. I love collecting these. Right now I'm working on the cd inserts going back to Bama 001's. There are so many and the pictures are so amazing of the band. These are the inserts that you could order cd's, t-shirts, etc from that way pre-date the Warehouse inserts. Pretty hard to find in mint condition.

^ is a great online resource, and a great place to find alot of rare items for sale without going throught the e-bay hassle. however, the dmb artist section is vastly incomplete. if you guys have releases that are not listed there, you can sign up for free and submit all of the relase details. once you sign up you can also track items that your own in your own personal collection.

I have a couple of Crash-era promos, but the one rare thing that I (think I still) have is an advance unmastered cassette of UTTAD, xeroxed green cover.

I used to write reviews and do interviews for the Music Monitor, which was a regional monthly for the old Record Exchange and other indie record stores in the NC/VA area. I got the cassette, which I used for my assignment, and of course I played it a ton.

But what I couldn't know at the time was that it wasn't a totally finished version of the album. For one thing, Roi's solo on Jimi Thing wasn't there, but it still sounded good and I got used to the recording.

So when the real CD came out and I listened to Jimi Thing, Roi's horn came leaping out of the speakers and startled the crap out of me. But in a good way.

I have a BTCS Vinyl it is semi sealed, it has the oringinal wrapping on it with the sticker, but one side of it is sliced open, the side where the Vinyl comes out. I bought on ebay for 150 dollars. I also own the Dave Matthews Band In- Store sampler, it is a Canadian release, it is all blue. It is said to be very rare and hard to find, I bought it on ebay for 80 bucks.

There are quite a few VHS promos out there with musicvideos or old live performances of the band. I haven't seen any of them, but I guess it would be cool to see some really old videotaped songs

haha, yeah I know. They are from the 90's. Back then there was something called a VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) and you could put a video tape inside the machine and press play and then a movie would start... pretty awesome stuff

Dave Matthews Band stuff even exists on REEL TO REEL. no joke.

i have a couple of DMB vhs, i have the official gravedigger video, which is pretty cool. I dont see it often. I have the BTCS press kit video. which is also pretty neat. i dont recall many others but i am sure they are out there.

Space between Tiesto remix is on VHS for sure.

Whoa whoa whoa...so you stick a tape into this VCR thing? Does it ever get stuck? Does it spit out the other end all rolled up after it's finished, or do you have to roll it up yourself?
