Don't even know where this is going anymore, but to say you cant have an opinion on something because you didn't experience it is completely flawed- especially in music because it is 100% subjective.

I really only believe this for a few things, including live music.

See the bolded. You have never seen One Direction or Nickelback. Yet you have completely negated them as a live band. How do you know that they are not good?

I'm listening to this GD sbd right now in my car. It's just a shame my brain can't process live music anymore, unless I'm at the show. Im thinking about tossing all my GD CDs out of the window.

Concerts are a live experience, I think a recording can give you an idea but it's not the same as seeing a show live; I think it's similar to a theater experience vs netflix

DMB was in that 3D concert movie.

That was pretty close to the experience of being there, so I feel like that's an apt comparison.

Being in a public setting watching it with other people helped make it close to going to a concert venue and watching the band live on stage with other people.

I think its dumb to say I cant recognize the dead as being a great live band because I have't seen them live. So thats a sarcastic comment towards that.

The GD Tapes are fantastic. So much to choose from. Most of the other bands don't have a catalog of live shows like the dead, and most of the music is from studio recordings. Most of dead tapes are incredible, so actually being at the show would be an enhanced experience and thats how I make the judgement based on the music alone. Not to even mention how they are perceived in the pubic eye. They had studio efforts, but the dead are a live band first. And a damn good one.

And DMB can thank them for the reason they was able to get popular. Its the tapes and tapers

I saw Coldplay back in the day in Denver. It was just before Yellow took off, so they didn't even sell out the place.

It's kind of funny to square that memory with the band playing stadiums now.
