tomorrow is keystone or abasin, not sure. then thursday is breckenridge

That's sick man, I'm so jealous!

When I was on Vail's site the other day I couldn't find a one day pass. I'm going to Denver for work probably Jan 29-Feb 1 for work and will probably board that Friday with work people and that Saturday with my girlfirend's family. I was hoping to ride Copper or Winter Park one day and Vail the other. Good to hear it is possible to get a one day ticket to Vail.

Do you definitely recommend Mt. Hood Meadows over Timberline Lodge?

The only thing we haven't booked is the lodging (and obviously the lift tickets). I was thinking we'll stay in Hood River, any recommendations?

breck was great. as of yesterday only peaks 8 and 9 were open, but it was more than enough, since it totaled like 1000 acres of skiing or some shit like that. it was kinda windy at the top, but overall it was a good day of skiing. i stayed away from the narlier stuff, as my legs had taken a beating from vail and keystone the two days before, but it looks like they have some serious terrain there.

They are supposed to get about 3 feet by tomorrow (in addition to getting dumped on the past few days).

I know! It was beautiful today (albeit freezing), so I took advantage of it. Hiked to the top of the Peak 8 Summit and enjoyed the view for ~10 minutes. Might take the day off tomorrow, but haven't decided yet. It all depends on the amount of snow we get tonight.

Snowboarded at Ski Apache in Ruidoso on Thanksgiving Day ...first time on a board since the 4th grade so it's been 8 years but it felt good. Can't wait to go boardin at Taos so I can get some good lessons. Maybe even try to get up to Wolf Creek since it's not too far.

I think I'm going to head up to Mammoth this weekend (actually haven't made it up there yet this year)... they just got dumped on.

Anybody else hit the slopes recently? So far this year I've made it to Snow Summit (Big Bear) twice, Mt. Baldy twice, Copper Mtn., Vail, and Mt. Hood. Been a great winter for riding this year.

It's starting to warm up outside, which I guess is fine cause it's almost beach season, but I don't want the snowboarding season to end.

Just a heads up to everyone looking to buy gear, these two sites are fantastic and put up one item at a time ridiculously cheap until it sells out:

    Skiing-
    http://www.tramdock.com

    Snowboarding-
    http://www.brociety.com (I know, sounds stupid)

I've bought a ton of shit off there in the past few weeks.

http://www.sierrasnowboard.com has basically anything snowboard related 50% off right now too.

There was a massive snowfall here last week, which not only resulted in perfect skiing conditions, but also two avalanches involving people (a 23 yo girl died in one of them). I'm staying away for a while.

Anybody else anxiously awaiting the season to start?

I'm starting to plan a trip for February for my whole family to get together for a little ski trip/family reunion. There are 6 adults skiing/boarding and 4 kids (7,8,11, and 12 years old) skiing. What would be the best place to go where we can find a single place for us to all stay together plus have varying difficulty of terrain? And also have a cool town to explore for the other family members who don't ski?

So far we're seriously looking into Park City, UT. Looks really cool. Other options are Vail (fantastic, been there before though and kind of want something new), Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Jackson Hole, WY.

    Any thoughts/suggestions?

    Any thoughts/suggestions?
Park City, by far. Great conditions and family friendly. CO is great, but all those resorts you listed are so, I dunno... tired.

But we did our first snow today It's going to be a loooong winter.

I've been planning to get back into skiing for the past two winters, but haven't.

Third years the charm? I hope so.

Can't go wrong with Vail/Beaver Creek. I want to check out Jackson, only been there in the summer. Add Steamboat, Telluride and Aspen Highlands to your CO destination list. I'm a fan of Winter Park too. It's gonna be a big snow year.

I ended up booking Park City for February, just looked too good to pass up. My whole family (15 of us now) is staying in a big house right off Main St., should be a blast. We can walk to the chairlifts that are on Main St. and go right up to the resort.

I actually ran across a great sale on gear today, and ended up buying a new board. SierraSnowboard.com still has all of their 09 gear at 50% off, but they completely replenished their stock so they have basically every model in every size again. Look soon because it's going fast.

    I just picked up a T6 in a 164w for half price!!!
