Maybe, but this is Liam's first solo album, Noel's third. Liam's is more polished and produced, I like that Noel is trying a few things - I think his will hold up better.

Watched Familiar to Millions for the first time in a while yesterday. Definitively not as good as some of the other live dvd's like Live By The Sea or There and Then but man cool show and forgot how good those versions of Gas Panic! and Champagne Supernova are.

Liam also has a team of writers around him and has strategically decided not to stray from the classic Oasis sound. I suspect that's why many Oasis fans might find his solo album better.

Whereas, like you said, Noel does everything himself and is trying new approaches all the time.

I was really impressed with Liam's release, but Noel's is just awesome. Liking it a lot more than I thought I would when I heard the first single release.

Saw Oasis in 2008. Only because Ryan Adams was the opening act and tickets were half price when I bought them.

    Ryan Adams was great.

Oasis was terrible. We left half way through. One of the most boring crap sounding bands I've ever seen live. And I like them growing up in the 90's.

Saw the same tour, both bands were amazing. Oasis had the arena bouncing from the jump. Fantastic show.

I didn't enjoy the first hour plus, why would I stick around for the end when they were just bonus for seeing Ryan Adams.

So maybe this isn't the thread for you? Oasis is amazing live, I've seen it many, many times. Can't speak for the crowd or venue in CO, but everywhere I've seen them they have been amazing. Their catalog of songs is fantastic and they were a generational game changer. Go muck up the Radiohead thread or something.

I must be in the wrong Oasis thread. I thought this was the one where we talk about how they are not good live. Apologies. Enjoy your Oasis.

So, you're new on this board but, threads dedicated to bands are usually for people who are fans of that band to discuss them. When you go post in a band thread just to shit on said band, what type of response would you expect, exactly?

Flying out to NYC for the Noel’s HFB show at Radio City tonight. Excited to catch him live! Wanted to see both brothers this year in case a reunion never happens. Always wanted to see a show at Radio City.

Was looking for a Beatles version and ran across this Oasis cover. Thought it was Nirvana at first lol. Anyway, thought it was an interesting cover of the song.

I love this version! I used to have it on a mix CD I had of a bunch of random live tracks and one-off Oasis stuff when I was super obsessed with them and digging up everything I could find. Kelly Jones from Stereophonics definitely has a similar tone to his voice to Cobain so I can see how you would think Nirvana at first. I've never actually seen this video, I only had the audio of this performance - I love Liam drinking and jamming in the background.

Always loved the 'phonics. They never really took off here but were always one of my favorite British bands of that late 90's-early 2000's era. They're still quite good but their first 4 albums in particular are awesome.
