Re: Live Trax Vol. 58: Deer Creek Theatre - Noblesville, IN - 6/22/2000
Listening right now the first CD.
The way this Live Trax sounds is absolutely great. Mix is cristalline crisp, this time producers and engineers did an amazing job. Audio quality is comparable to the best Trax, to me. I would like to hear Djamieb’s and dobyblue’s opinion on that.
Such a perfect sound gives really another experience when listening to those songs. The setlist is, for my tastes, close to perfection, at least for the first 1.5 hours. In 2000, with the LWS songs around, there was more variety than in 1998, and Everyday and the Lovely Ladies weren’t around yet. It might be one of my favorite years, and this LT might be one of my favorite of the last 10-15. The only thing they did wrong here is the artwork.
The Stone into DIDO is an excellent opener.
Roi absolutely shines on #41, which is an all-timer. The way he interacts with Carter is wonderful. Even BT sounds really clean here. Lover Lay Down is another gem, Roi is warm and inspired, his solo is wonderful. LIOG is perfect.
I’ll keep on listening.
