Let's lay down the basics before we go asking questions.

    1) What are you referring to when you use the word "dorm." the building, your room, or are you in some suite or something?

    2) You didn't bring a tv to college?

    3) Am I that fucking old that tv's are outdated now?

    4) How many people in this residence hall?

I'm referring to the building. Each floor has a common area with couches and chairs and a tv.

I mean I actually did but it's a small tv. The outlit is way above the closet so it's sucks to watch it. But I can use my phone for shows anyway.

I just like watching the tv in the common area for football because it is a big screen tv.

Here's my tv arrangement. It actually looks way Smaller in person. Sorry for the sideways photo. Idk why it uploads like that

It uploaded like that because you should turn your phone sideways to take photos

For me and my gf, we are on the same page as far as usage when we are together goes. Really, it’s all good if someone wants to check something etc.

But, to your original post above I do think they are dangerous to relationships for another reason: texting.

While it’s a useful tool, and we have fun with it a lot if the time, when all she and I do is text for a three or four days because we can’t see each other our communication suffers and it adds distance between us for some reason. Especially if we have something important to discuss or we are discussing some issue or something.

For this reason we’ve decided to make sure to talk each day when we are apart. Too much texting doesn’t work.

These people genuinely worry me. How the fuck do you. Not know what continent countries are on. I can understand something like the Ukraine which I could understand somebody not knowing if it’s Europe or Asia. But at least they’d know the general area it is.

its these type of comments in this thread that make me realize how dumb some people are. So when I'm struggling to figure out accounting, and I think I'm dumb I can think "well atleast I'm not one of those people that get talked about in then irritants thread for not knowing simple stuff "

Actual accounting, not just balancing a checkbook, is fairly difficult especially as you progress.

Obviously, this is going to be about my dog. As a quick refresher, my dog has been spending a LOT of time outside, even overnight. That said, the past couple of weeks (when the temps went down) he's been coming inside at night and spending the night inside. Today, he went out at about 11:00 am and then came right back in and stayed inside until about 4:30. Which, for me, is great. I like having Trajan inside.

So he goes outside at 4:30 and I decide that's a perfect time to vacuum. So I vacuum for about 20 minutes or so. (Maybe 30. My apartment isn't that big.)

I turn off the vacuum and I hear this noise and don't think much of it. Of course, it keeps going on and I finally look out the window and there's some woman standing at my fence screaming to the window that "YOUR DOG IS FREEZING!!!!"

It's currently 40 degrees in Chicago.
Have you ever talked to your vet about keeping your dog outside? With how many people accusing you of shit you might want either the peace of mind that you are doing things correctly or something in writing that shows that you are following "best practices" according to a vet.

At least I would want to be reassured so that way I wouldn't think I was crazy.

Yep. I've been going to the same place for about six years now, so have a history built up there. I took him in for x-rays on his rear hips and basically laid out the entire story to the doctor on call that night. That was back in September. Since then, I've called ahead to make sure that vet was working so that, due to his EOL circumstance, he's seeing the same person. I just had him back for full blood work, fecal test, and heart worm test and asked the vet if she'd be willing to put together a document outlining all of his treatments since I've been bringing him there, his current condition (which is degenerative), and overall breed properties and she was more than willing.

I've also purchased a new dog house that Trajan never uses and placed it where it's visible to everyone. I'm asking for this for Christmas, for no other reason than to be able to say that my pet has access to a heated dog house when outside.

Allegedly, a guy named Bill from Anti-cruelty is supposed to come out here next Thursday. He was supposed to come out a few weeks ago but didn't. So, I called him back asking what happened and he said something came up and would reschedule. I'm really looking forward to him coming out here. I guess at that point, we'll have some closure to this whole debacle.

I've had no air in my car for just over a week. Was supposed ro drop it off with a semi-retired mechanic on Monday to fix the blower motor. When I arrived, he wasn't there. Tried calling his cell, no answer but I left a message. He called back but I missed the call and he didn't leave a message. Long story short, Monday ended and I still have no air. I know its not the resistor, it's most likely the blower motor. Now I'm scrambling to find a cheap mechanic to fix my air before the rain begins. As of now it'll be next week before I can this fixed because of the holiday. Not looking forward to spending money I don't have.

    The street sweeper this morning.

So, this morning, I parked in front of a coffee shop while my son went in to get hot chocolate. The sweeper guy came up behind me and just sat there. I assume since he saw me in the car, he thought I was leaving. I wasn't.
So, he honked. I ignored him.
He honked again. Still ignored him.
Honked again. Still ignored him and waited for my son to come out.

He finally decided to go around me, but first pulled up beside me to point out the "No Parking April 1 - Dec 1 Tuesday - Thursday" sign in front of me.
One big problem with that - it's from 9am to 3pm.
This all occurred at 7:15 am.

I walk into work this morning and the thermostat is at 76 fucking degrees! That's insanely hot. I get that it's mid-fall and the morning temps are pretty chilly but it still gets to like 45-50 during the day and the sun shines on our building all day long. Doesn't help that I'm one of two males out of a 10-person office (support staff included), but goodness gracious if I didn't say something they would've had the heat cranking all day!

We keep our heat on at home in the 64-66 range and are just snug as a bug. Ten degrees hotter from that range it outlandish.

I have no choice but to open my windows, the 35-degree air is absolutely breathtaking at the moment.

I just don't understand how people can justify their own behavior sometimes.
one of my neighbors across the street had a husky for a bunch of years. the dog just always wanted to be outside, so they let her hang outside either on a long leash or in the fenced-in backyard. even during the winter, cause you know, huskies can handle cold temps. well all that changed when a bitchy neighbor a few blocks down was walking her dog, saw the husky hanging outside on a cold winter's day, and complained to the cops that she was being "tortured." one look at this dog and you'd realize she was happier than a pig in shit when she was outside, and clearly not suffering. as a result, the husky couldn't just hang outside anymore. my neighbors were PISSED. and still are if you bring it up
