I absolutely agree. It would push jimi back into the songs I want to hear, rather than dread at a show.

I like 5.24.98 Red Rocks (although Boyd is off a bit in the end, doesn't really subtract from it too much)

    11.5.10 is great too

I know it's insignificant in the scheme of things, but it's really a shame the band wasn't able to play more than a couple of shows in 2020. I'm listening back to that Vegas show now. I know there's a lot of the same stuff we've heard the past few years, but the return of The Riff, Beach Ball, What You Are, and Sweet Up and Down plus Tell Me Something Good and Long Train Runnin' covers were all nice signs. They seemed poised for a good year.

Hopefully they carry that spirit forward the next time they take the stage, be it 2021 or later. I felt we were about to get a really solid tour.

I was listening to Live at Folsom today while working on my deck, I remembered it had some great LeRoi solos so thought it would be a good one. Can someone please help me with that version of "SO RIGHT"? What the hell is wrong with it? Why does the riff between "Our love is so right" (wah, wahwahwahwahwhah) sound like a cartoon duck quacking? What is that? Who is that? It ruined the song and sounds appalling to my sensitive sound holes so I need answers.

I’m not positive but I think it’s Butch. Hitting some low notes of the riff on the piano and maybe with a strange synth. But I am pretty sure it’s him.

I like the new Come Tomorrow with more Brandi on it. The horns are louder in the mix as well. When I swap that version for the album version, it makes the album a little better IMO.

I enjoyed it too, but my wife isn't a fan of Brandi's voice..."too country" for her tastes.

Oddly, I have no particular affinity for country music and the artists I do like are NOT traditional country voices: Willie, Johnny, and the like, while my wife grew up w/ a lot fo her family listening to country music.

Heck, if anything I have anti-affinity for country music, especially the pop w/ twang that has been the standard from the '80s forward.

Anyway, it's a good variation on the song, which we already loved.

It has been a while but I do recall really enjoying the '08 Berkeley run, would not mind seeing that one boxed up as a release.

It's all about safety. I'm not going to any shows that would require me to sign a waiver for my health. Along those lines, what band/artist or management company is going to risk liability?

I want live music in person again, but I'm not willing to risk anyone's health for it to happen.

Exactly. All of this "do you think DMB will tour in 2021" is a much bigger question. In effect, you're asking about the state of the world in 2021 when you pose that question. I know this forum basically operates on baseless speculation but it goes way beyond what DMB decides to do. It ain't up to them, ya know?

Someone has probably thought of this before but I love the studio version of Shake Me Like a Monkey, obviously it's never really connected in the live setting, BUT...what if Buddy sang the "yah, yah, yah" part at the beginning like the studio album and backed Dave up on the parts that Dave clearly sang on the album but can't do live because he's singing the lyrics. It will never happen but it would be epic. Studio version is amazing, just wish that translated to the live show.

This is definitely random but you know those AOL sessions that are on youtube, does anyone know (or have) them in higher quality? I love the Crush from those sessions. All the songs sounded great actually.

I always thought with just a tweak or two, and not getting crushed with it from 09- 17, SMLAM wouldn't be a bad banger for a mid show pick me up, after something like here on out or something.

There has been some talk that the band won't release an album unless there is a tour to support it. I understand this thought since DMB is primarily a live band and the excitement of a tour will drive ticket sales. On the other hand, Bruce Springsteen just released a new single and the album comes out next month and The Killers just put out a fantastic album with no tour to support. The lack of touring didn't stop these guys so I wonder what is holding up DMB? Billboard also is no longer counting free album downloads with a the purchase of a concert ticket in their rankings.

Two years is too long to wait for a new album, especially when they have so many songs on the shelf waiting to be heard.

They could definitely do it if they wanted. I wonder if they have or if they have thought about it? I'd have a hard time believing the guys haven't had any contact with each other in a professional capacity this entire year.
