Re: The Avett Brothers

Saw them for the first time last night and they brought the house down! Really can't wait to see them again!

one of them was checking out the band who was playing at the little stage when you walk into the venue. I don't know their names, but the dude with long black hair. Really nice guy. He also came down to the bud light vip area beside the stage and was just hanging out and meeting people. Shook his hand. That's the end of my story.

Just paid $70 to see them in Sandpoint this summer in a crowd of 2500. I think it should be worth it, especially considering I have been chasing them for ~4 years now.

Damn...I paid $20 a piece for 2 lowers to the Nashville show yesterday on stubhub..couldn't go cause the gf got sick but sold them back at the same price

There were dozens of tickets there for <$40 for that show, but nothing below $70 for other upcoming shows. Weird...so wish I could have gone.

Yeah their tickets are still fairly cheap for how good they are.

Also, their fans and message board is like the collection of nicest people ever. How nancies was before it turned to shit.

Saw them in Nashville a week ago. Got tickets through their website ($48) for GA Pit and because I was among the first 30 to buy online we got early entry into the Pit. Got right up on the stage with my buddy who has seen them all over the country. Had a great time. They really put on a good show.

"I And Love And You" is such an amazing album. Seriously surprises me how good this album is every time I busy it out.

I agree. And if you haven't heard "emotionalism", "country was", "live vol 3", and "a Carolina jubilee", you will really be blown away.

They're amazing live but they are the kind of band that you would definitely want to be familiar with their catalog to really enjoy. There isn't any soloing or improv going on like at DMB, Pearl Jam or Phish where you can just be blown away by the musicianship.

They are very high energy for an acoustic band but a lot of that energy comes from the fans shouting their lyrics at the top of their lungs

The stuff that's come out about Seth's divorce and alleged affair with Jennifer Carpenter is pretty insane and completely unexpected. But on the plus side, apparently the other half of the songs they recorded for The Carpenter are set to be released sometime in the fall.

Holy shit. I'll never be able to listen to January wedding the same again. Guess she didnt keep it simple enough for him anymore

Edit: and apparently Jacob was let go because he confronted Seth about it last year. Damn this is the first I've heard about any of this, guess I need to brush up on my celebrity gossip
