I think this is an unfair generalization of Opeth. Not every song they perform is like that. My favorite song of theirs is Death Whispered A Lullaby and Mikael does not go "cookie monster" during that song.

True, but the majority of their stuff is like that. And I think it's sad that that form of 'singing' has a label.

Im unsure if youre implying Opeth 'fart' into the mic? Well, regardless of whether you are or not, Opeth are one of the few bands where the lead singer can actually sing really really well, along with utilizing his "cookie monster" vox, as hudak said.

I say, download Hessian Peel, off their new album. the first half is beautiful, the second half is brutal. Its a perfect example of what they do best.

yea im gonna be seeing Disturbed, Killswitch, and Five Finger Death Punch if they come to maine. im not too much of a fan of Disturbed but theyre ok. and then im going to see Diecast in a small club next month. and hopefully ill be seeing Mudvayne if they come to maine
