Same thing happens with the same people regarding DMB for a long time in a thread that is actually for DMB, being aware of certain Ants opinions of bands isn't just specific to me. The comment about about the solo acoustic comparison yesterday was taken far more seriously than I had intended it, it was just as I would tell you Justin Timberlake's performance at the Concert for Charlottesville was amazing and blew DMB out of the water, I don't think DMB fans here would get all rattled about someone saying that.

Both. I assume hearing how it started will help me understand how it became a running joke.

Oof. I like most of those songs from 2009. FTWII gets a bad rap imo. Why I Am is so quick of a song it doesn't stick in my craw as long as it's in a decent spot in the set (if its a closer I hate it). Alligator Pie could be worse. Spaceman could be worse. LITHOG and Squirm I like.

Don't like SMLAM, Seven, You & Me, and I'm still fucking sick of Jimi.

But I'd take most anything off BW over Bayou and Stand Up getting the plays they're getting.

Always assumed it started with Matt Wadleigh, but perhaps it goes back further than that?

I'm definitely not the best person to answer this question. I believe it started out as a charitable cause and someone spun it into a way to make money to fund going to a lot of mediocre 09-10 shows. I don't remember the details though.

    The Stone doesnt "come back".

It peeks its head out once, maybe twice then goes back into hibernation for the rest of the year.

Which sucks. It's so good and they played it so well in 2018. It should get ~20 plays a tour

Agreed. Anyone who has the notion that good songs like the stone and DT should be played 1-2 times per tour to be a "treat" (like one dude who replied to Stefan on twitter recently) are big dumb.

That 2009 summer tour was effectively the US tour for BWGGK was it not? Hopefully the band got the CT-heavy tour out of their system between summer 18 and EU 19

Perfect post to show how irrelevant this European tour is, heading into a new US, non-album release tour. Well done. Honestly.

The problem is theyre only averaging 4 CT songs per show, none with more than 5 and a handful with 2 or 3. CT is not the problem with sets.

At a minimum, every song from 91-00 that isn't defunct should get no fewer than 10 plays per tour.

I agree. There were repetition issues stemming from CT last summer and, while there is still some (Here On Out and TGIY being the main culprits), the issues i have are more with Bayou, Stand Up, and Jimi

Yep, and not even any variety in the classic songs. Its jimi, ants, ddtw, warehouse and sometimes nancies.

Agreed completely. Oh DYR is part of the over played CT songs as well. Being played right now for the 4th show in a row

Classic songs with 10+ plays: WWYS, Jimi, Warehouse, Ants, DDTW. PNP/Rapunzel has 9. 15 songs from the Big 3 have yet to be played.
