Exactly, I was really hoping he'd flop at Chelsea so they'd flog him off to another Champions League team where he'd be amazing and come up against Chelsea and knock them uncermoniously from the tournament. Unfortunately, it was not to be

Yeah, especially as it was offering more than Ballack and Sheva. On top of that Chelsea have said they are stopping with all the ridiculous contracts so could mean that fatty is well and truely out of there. Not that he's anywhere near their best player. Sorry but I don't think he's as quality as most people say. Not so shit that he deserves to get booed when he plays for England just that I don't think he should be in the team. Hargreaves and Gerrard in a diamond in midfield with Beckham and Cole on the wings would suit me nicely.

I think he is way way over hyped and the only reason for that hype is that he has played on the high profile team of the past 4 years or so.

i like that mid field, even if Cole is a window licking jamook (cant take credit for that one)

    still good though.

I don't know who I would have partner Rooney upfront though. I have a lot of respect for Owen but it was clear despite two goals against Estonia that he wasn't quite with it.

Hopefully, Arsenal will have some England representatives if only one maybe in the form of Walcott in a few years.

Now a team looking like this

    ----------------James (hate Robinson)

    Neville---Carragher---Terry----Cole (scum)

    ---------------Hargreaves
    Beckham ------------------------Cole
    ----------------Gerrard

    ---------Rooney-----------Walcott

looks like a solid team there! Love that you have included Carra. He certainly deserves more caps!

god i was watrching the CL Semi Final the other night, and I realized why i hate Drogba so much. What a cheating bastard he is. Remember the foul on Agger when the ball hit Drogba in the face? Fuck he winds me up haha

He winds everyone outside of Chelsea up I'm sure of it.

Lehman knows the way to deal with him though, with his little diving incident at Stamford Bridge. One of the funniest footballing things I've seen

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu_eodWmHlQ

Lehman cracks me up, and I don't care if most people hate him at least he has a sense of humour (which is something for a German)

    I'd have to say...

    Reina
    Finnan Carragher Terry Phil Neville
Ronaldo Gerrard Fabregas Arteta (I guess)
    Drogba Berbatov

Reina dominated statistically, plus I suppose I'm a bit biased. Didn't like putting Neville or Arteta in there though..

Drogba's diving doesn't bother me as much as Robben's does. At least with Drogba there's usually some contact. Robben looks like he could play for Portugal.

Chelsea are better off without Lampard, Ballack and Sheva if you ask me... Overrated and sucking up money. Gerrard makes Lampard look like an absolute amateur.

well i havent really head much about him other than he has scored a load of goals... In Croatia haha

although his international record isnt bad

    12 GP- 7 goals

104 GP- 73 goals for his Club

not a bad record, but I think we will both agree the EPL is a big step up from Croatia

I'm just holding hope in the fact that Wenger wouldnt pay any money if he wasn't top class, or could become top class with a bit of Wengers influence.

he's 24 so it isnt too old. be patient with him though i am sure there will be growing pains in the Prem. I think the other thing to think about is the press surrounding him. He is undoubtably going to be seen as Henry's replacement which will carry a burden all by its self

Nice to see this thread getting some love. Heck, it might even make chat status.

Keep up the good work lads.

Both good points. With either Eduardo de Silva or Adebayor alongside Van Persie possibly, or de Silva and Adebayor upfront with Van Persie out wide it looks like we have a fairly solid base for Bendtner and Walcott to come through gradually into. Going foward we should be solid as always. As long as we iron out the sometimes stupid defensive errors then we are still in contention (despite what Drogba might believe).

eh Drogba is drunk off his own ego. Chelsea is and always will be a bought success. Seeing as there last major triump before this spending spree was what 1954.

to me, there are only 3 big teams in the Prem. Liverpool ManUre and Arsenal
