Re: Red Rocks 2012!!!

I got a feeling it's going to be Dicks park similar to Phish last year. I would support this. I would love RR but the thought of getting tickets and the frustration of paying brokers blood for my home venue is more them I can handle.

I would support dicks also. The Phish concerts were epic. I would love RR also but I don't really want the frustration of trying to get tickets when I know I will get tickets to dicks. Althought I did snag all 4 nights in 05 through the warehouse or ticketmaster.

I don't think DMB can fill three nights at Dicks though. I remember them playing pepsi center in 06 and there was many open seats the second night.

That's so funny, just the other day I was thinking about Dick's...and Dave...it was nice...
    um...anyway...

no seriously, I was thinking about where they might stop in CO and Dick's occurred to me, too. Personally, I loved the caravan last summer and was even daydreaming that they might do a stop like that there. I hadn't thought about the ticket issue, but that is a great point too.

For those of you who have seen a show at the Dick's venue...is it usually general admission on field or reserved seating usually?

I'd love a Dick's show. Didn't do Phish, but heard the sound was much better there than previous shows. Cheaper, easier tickets... I'd totally be in... And have a chance to see them on the road someplace else without a third mortgage.

For Phish it was GA for the floor and reserved for the seats. I was on the floor all three nights for Phish, I thought the sounds was great. Not sure about the seats though.

I sat seats all nights of Phish because my wife twisted her ankle the week before and thought the sound was great as long as you were close. The further back you went the more distorted the sound became in my opinion.

As far as a venue, I thought it was outstanding. Easy parking with tailgating. Nice open stadium with easy access. Again, would I rather see them at RR again, of course. But when weighting how much of a pain in the ass getting tickets would be, Dicks would be great. Then again, I've seen them and many other bands at RR. If it would be my first time I would probably have no problem spending 300% face value to some scumbag broker.

I was waiting for the official word on that. Too bad. I had a lot of fun. I know Morris promised a big event at Dicks when they canceled last year. wondering if he's going to do the same this year.

Wasn't some Denver radio DJ supposed to make some big summer concert announcement today? Did anyone hear what it was?

I hope the band plays at the Pepsi Center if they don't play Red Rocks. Dicks would suck if the entire field was GA

It appears that when Colorado is officially announced (whether it be Red Rocks or Dicks), it will not be announced until after on-sale dates across the country because that seems to be the pattern for our wonderful state... never get to celebrate the original tour announcement.

If the rumored dates across the country are true, I'm probably only able to see Colorado anyway.

I'm glad the new rumored tour dates "gel" with the long rumored Red Rocks dates of August 10th-12th. THERE IS STILL HOPE PEOPLE!!!

I am ok with that. It lets all the yo-yo's say "see no colorado" so they book trips elsewhere. Then when Colorado is announced they have no money to come here and are stuck with their original trip plans. Some will still come and there is always those that say "I am coming no matter what", but they never do.

I am probably one of the rare ones that is hoping for Dicks or Pepsi Center and voting against Red Rocks. I really don't want the pain of trying to find tickets are paying a million dollars because I won't do that.

Quite frankly Red Rocks is cool but it is not that cool, maybe it's because I have seen a lot of shows there.

I can see Dave Matthews Band anywhere and have a good time I don't need Red Rocks to happen, I just need them to come to Colorado.

Why is Comfort Dental (Fiddlers Green) not in the discussion for a possible alternative to Red Rocks? It hold just as many people as Dicks and hosts big acts as well.

I could be wrong on this but the promoter that brings in the Dave Matthews Band into colorado is AEG. Comfort Dental is live nation.

I agree with the terrible acoustics at Comfort Dental. I would prefer Dicks over Pepsi Center. Smaller venue and be able to enjoy our great summer nights.
