I’m ready to be hurt again.

At least my generation got to see a playoff run from the Bengals. Can’t wait for the next one when I’m in my 70s.

I remember the Red Sox first championship when I was about that age.

Watson and Murray get traded for each other to keep the Cardinals and Houston trade partnership going. Watson leads Arizona to the Super Bowl so its the 3rd straight year of the host team winning with a QB they just acquired

Bet $60 for the Browns to make the Super Bowl. Got a cool $1,000 coming to me when this happens.

League is in great shape heading into next season. Chargers are going to be a sexy SB "dark horse."

Bengals have 4th most cap space heading into FA. Don't think they'll have any issues attracting free agents. Need to completely overhaul the O-Line. Get another corner, get another TE, linebacker help. Re-sign Jessie Bates. Should be in good shape heading into 22-23 as long as there isn't a super bowl loss hangover.

It’s just really hard to get to the super bowl. And QBs who lose their first super bowl almost never win one (mostly, because it’s so hard to get there). Rodgers never got back. Marino never got back. Boomer/Anderson never got back for the Bengals. Tale as old as time.

Only QBs to win a SB after losing their first: Len Dawson, Bob Griese, John Elway.

So, I think the idea that they could be one and done is pretty well founded just on history alone. Plus, it’s the Bengals. They’ll fuck it up some how. They’ve been trying to build and OL for 6 years now and the results have actually gotten worse. They’ve NEVER spent big on interior OL, which is the problem, under Mike Brown’s ownership. Burrow was sacked 70 times following the season in which he had a catastrophic knee injury. He’s great, but if he keeps getting hit so much, he’s not going to last (or stick around).

Eh, they spend. They spent quite a bit on the defense over the last 2 years.

The scouting is a huge problem. They also only have 1, single, solitary, employee in their analytics “department”.

Mike Brown stepping down is the best thing that could happen to the team. His daughter and in-laws are much better suited to run a franchise in a modern major sports league.

    Nope, nope
Maybe, 49ers or a team that could use an upgrade like the Packers

They aren't well coached and the conference is loaded with young talent, Chiefs and Bills aren't going anywhere soon

Where are the Bengals on all your preseason power rankings? Was this just a magical run or the start of a very long run of success that hopefully turns into a title?

Hard to say until the QBs shake out. But they have the guy and he is great.

Today I have KC, Buffalo, Titans above them.

    Top 10, not top 5.

Need to prove they can get to a league average OL at worst. They have the cap space to do it, but…bengals gonna bungle.

This was supposed to be year 2 of the rebuild, and they demolished expectations. So hopefully more to come? But I’ve also suffered so long as a fan of them that I can also only anticipate what the next shoe to drop in the never ending disappointment that is this franchise.

I'd probably put the Bengals 4th in the AFC...behind KC, BUF, and TEN. They're still in a tough division, so who knows next year.

I’m not sure what to think of the AFC North next year. I think it’s probably Baker’s last ride in Cleveland before they move on. The Steelers have to hope to land Jimmy G or (somehow) Rodgers, otherwise they are going to be in QB purgatory for a bit. And I’d be concerned about Lamar’s durability after this year - and the fact that he’s still a RB who sometimes doesn’t throw the ball to the opponent.

But there’s a lot of good pass rushers in the division, and the Bengals terrible OL and lack of past success fixing it could also result in another Burrow injury and a division that is sending 1 meh team at the end of the 17 weeks.

Genuinely thought Burrow shredded the other knee last night. Will be interesting to see if anything pops up about that after the fact. I know he had a bone bruise that he aggravated in the first KC game.

He was out with Kid Cudi after the game, so that’s probably an okay sign. Based on the positioning of the knee, it could be an MCL sprain or if it happened earlier before he was falling, a hyper extension.
