As a long-suffering Mariners fan, I’m excited to watch them battle it out in the playoffs. The pitching is there, and if they can get their bats going, who knows?

not that it was a bad school while i was there (early 00's), but they've really ramped it up in the last 10'ish years. campus looks incredible compared to when i was there, too.

Baseball should consider making two separate home run records. PED home runs and home runs. Baseball’s commissioner established separate home run records in 1961. Babe Ruth was credited as the home run king with 60. Roger Maris was credited for his 61 separately under 162 games.

That was pretty cool. I wonder how many cuts they had.

They did a drone tour of The Star for the Cowboys last year during Hard Knocks. That was done in one take. Really cool as well.

I really can’t think of a team that collapses on cue or more predictably any time they have a decent chance at actually contending than my Mets.

Just 1 win against the Braves would have ensured they owned the tiebreaker and season series and kept them in control of their fate. They had the easiest September schedule by opponent win % in baseball. They had a 10.5 game lead at one point, had it dwindle to 0.5, built back to 7, and then completely blown again. They lost a home series

In getting swept, they left 22 men on base. They went from a game up with a clear path at a bye and avoiding Dodgers until the NLCS. Now they face a likely matchup with a Padres team that consistently owns them, and if they win that they face the Dodgers with deGrom and Scherzer unavailable until late in that series.

What an exciting end to the regular season. Loved watching this weekend series.

The Mets fans are absolutely melting down but my schadenfreude is tempered slightly because prior to last year, as a Braves fan and Georgia fan, I know the feeling all to well. But for right now it's fun

Pujols gets to 702 and ties Babe Ruth’s (unofficial) RBI total to bring himself to a tie for 2nd all time in his last regular season game at Busch. Man knows how to make an exit.

to me, this just doesn't make any sense. why would they commit to degrom-scherzer in the SDP series? if I were them I'd go degrom g1; if they win go with bassitt, lose go with scherzer. that way you free yourself up to at least have the potentiality for scherzer to start g1 against the dodgers and pitch twice (as long as his arm doesn't get so tired he has to pull himself).

I've been seeing Mets fans calling this a collapse and it's just not. '07 was a collapse. Getting swept by the Cubs, deGrom and Scherzer and our offense not stepping up against the Braves this past weekend is what did it.

deGrom is dealing with a blood blister too and is lined up to pitched on Wednesday. Gotta think they're not going to throw him out there, unless somehow the Braves lose tonight and the Mets win these next two (doubleheader today.) Even still with him dealing with a blister, I'm not all that comfortable with him in the Wild Card series. That bye would have been so huge for this team. Especially with Marte still out.

Mets had a 10.5 lead on May 31st with 101 games left to play. Since May 1st they went 62-44 (.584). Braves since May 31st went 77-33 (.700) and lost only 6 games in all of June. They played better baseball. Braves had to win over 98 games (so far) to win the division, when it would usually take 98 to win yours. It's hard to call this is a collapse and LolMets

Yea, the Mets did not collapse. The Braves just went on a ridiculous tear. Mets are the best wild card team by a long shot and a top 5 team in baseball.
