What if the MSG set list was...

The whole of BTCS and the whole new album in their prespective orders?? I remember hearing a band doing this (playing the whole of albums in order in concert)

Coheed and Cambria - Neverender. They did it because their four albums were all a story. Would love to see Dave Matthews Band do this.

Phish did all of the Beatles' White Album once. I forget when or where, but I think they released that show as part of Live Phish.

Problem with your idea is that playing all of BTCS at their standard concert lengths gives you about an hour and a half of music. Add in breaks between the songs and the encore break and you're approaching two hours. Add in guests that could extend Last Stop out to its Live Trax 1 length, bring back the Heartbeat Intro before Pantala Naga Pampa, do the prelude for Don't Drink The Water even though its not the opener, give Carter a drum solo before Halloween, and jam out Crush and Dreaming Tree a little longer than normal, and you're at two and a half hours - just over the average length of a DMB show.

And what a show it would be.

I don't think I'd be a fan of hearing 10 straight songs that I'd never heard before, to be honest.

i've only heard 2 soundchecks and that was by accident. its also impossible to not hear it going on because hershey's stadium is wide open and the parking lots are like 10 feet from behind the stage.

pink floyd played whole albums straight through all the time. i think its a sweet idea, but if dmb played a whole album that wasn't one of the big 3 i wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much.

Yeah back in the day for the Halloween shows they would cover other albums. They also did The Who's Quadrophenia and The Talking Heads!!!

VA beach is like this too... everyone could hear the soundcheck while waiting to be let in to the parking lots. Of course they did like a double take of shotgun in the soundcheck and didn't play it that night, but Halloween made up for that

Batson is part of DMB history now. None of his songs made the new album. Let them die, I say. That can go for Ballard's songs as well. And Where Are You Going. If DMB can remember that there are other songs on Busted Stuff besides Grey Street and Bartender, that would be great too. Major to the Raven idea.

And they did Velvet Underground (Loaded) and Pink Floyd (Dark Side). Genius.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phish_a...lay_Pink_Floyd

Playing through an entire album has actual been a growing trend in recent years. A couple months ago I saw Jimmy Eat World play straight through Clarity, then they came back on for a 6 song encore. I made a thread awhile ago about the possibility of a 2-set show at MSG with the new album in its entirety, followed by a set of classics. (Back when the album was supposed to be released on 4/14! ) Would still love to see this someday with BTCS.
