http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvnjKam4s3Y Spaceman. Lovely sound, like the horns in this one. And the drumming, well done

Awesome show last night. I think Jeff was fantastic. You have to think of where he is coming from as he has enormous shoes to fill so I am sure it was such an honor for him to even be on stage.

I liked the new songs a lot. FTWII sounded great. The bassline is really cool and it really showcases Boyd. Spaceman is a cool flowing song with a good melody. I actually thought Way I Am was a little loud (i.e. Tim) but I am sure they will work it out as the tour goes along.

I have a question about downloading the show. Please forgive me for not being well-versed in this but I went onto Dreamingtree and all of the shows are in "torrent" format. Do I have to download something in order to get the shows? I was just hoping to be able to download the MP3's straight from the internet. Is there a way to do so?

If you like the songs, and they still sound good, and the audience likes them, record them, release them, and then synics like me can be happy. Okay, end rant!

I think this is the great thing about DMB that even the song's they don't release on CD are still loved and listened to by millions. I love Sister, I think its a beautiful song and even though someone here said it meant "pee break" for them, there are tons of people who love it.

But to each their own, and that's why I love this group because certain songs mean a lot to some people which makes the performance of that song that much better.

Dave shook his head during Jeff's solo off to the left of the stage where no one was near him. It was an odd thing for him to do. I can interpret that anyway I want to and at that moment, the guys in the band had very clearly made way for Jeff to show his stuff and he came up with a whole lot of nothing special. Two step's brilliance was such a contrast to what Jeff had done that it seemed like a "this is how it's done" moment.
Just so you know, you are coming off as a huge dickhead. But I do agree MSG has an intangible force around it that makes hows there better. That's why I go to so many haha! So I agree with you there.

Where I don't agree is that jeff was turned down. Jeff was mixed fine the entire time. I was in the 100 level stage left and I heard everything he did. You must have been in a dead zone or something ha.

And as for Dave walking and shaking his head; for someone that claims to have been to 20 shows, how have you never seen this before? He always walks around when solos are going to last more than like 4 minutes and he does that disbelief headshake all the time. Not to mention Dave shook his head during Carter's Two Step solo, too! He always does that in an "FUCK MY BAND IS AWESOME" way. While Jeff's #41 solo wasn't mindblowing it was certainly very good and had some fucking awesome moments. As an ex-sax player, you can trust me on that one.

download utorrent. That's what I use, there may be better ones, but I think that's the common one. Then when you click download it should open through that and start seeding and grabbing other people's. Sometimes you have to actually open the file after you open utorrent to make sure it starts but you'll figure all that out prolly. The first step is just getting utorrent.

You could also download a program called Vuze to get torrents. I use it and have no problems.

Got home to Boston around 9:30am, passed out till 1pm then headed to class. And here I am.

Raven, Pig, Recently, Why I Am, and the best Two Step I've ever heard makes this the best show of 10 for me. Unbelievable.

Charlottesville twice this weekend!! So pumped. I saw them this summer right after LeRoi had passed, and i definately noticed a bit of a difference. Did they seem totally together now that that has been a while? I hope so. Everyone is raving about Why I Am...anyone know how long that seemed to be?

no, it's just an application. YOu can get it from the legit utorrent site for free, so it's not like its just some random software. As long as you know what you are downloading it should be fine.

Funny you say that... if you go to the latest torrent from msg... I think it has amazing sound quality. I like the overall sound better, it's more like being at a show. The last 10 tapes I've downloaded haven't been great, but this one is pretty awesome.

Great review overall. I agree with almost everything you said. But regarding disappointment about Allman being the special guest, I couldn't disagree more. I don't think anyone was really expecting any kind of major cameo at all, let alone someone as legendary as Gregg Allman. Sure, we've heard Melissa from the band before, but as someone who was there, I was thrilled to see Gregg Allman there. I mean honestly...who did you expect?

Trey. Phish is currently in NYC recording their new album, and I was really hoping he'd sit in for a tune or two. It's not that I hated hearing Gregg Allman sing with them - he's great - just not my top choice of guests, knowing that Mr. Anastasio was in the city that night.
