Taper/Crumbo Appreciation

Dang Crumbo…

Amazing quality for those Alpine shows! Thank YOU!

I owe you a couple beers (at least).

I got to watch him setup on N1 since I was only a few rows behind him. There were not as many tapers at the shows as there normally are. I think I only saw 2 each night. Most Alpine shows seemed like they had 3 or 4 in the past. I've listened to parts of both tapers who have released their Alpine tapes (Crumbo and bersey) and they both sound pretty darn good.

I just saw that Crumbo also taped Deer Creek and uploaded them last night to Dreamingtree.org.

Just going to pile on this appreciation bandwagon... the sound for the Alpine shows is incredible and I agree it's even better than Sirius, especially through headphones. Thank you Crumbo!

Have to chime in with my gratitude as well. I won't tell you how many times I checked the Hub to see if the Alpine shows had been posted yet, but it was more than a few. And to get that level of quality when it showed up was wonderful. Thanks to Crumbo and all the tapers!

Jason's tapes never run hot and are much more balanced...

Alpine had 3 - Crumbo, Peters, and Bersey. All 3 guys produce excellent tapes. I love listening and comparing them.

Overall, this year is getting many more tapers than 2021 and I think it's for several reasons: 1) people are more interested in traveling overall post-COVID, and 2) the entire 2021 tour was taped and it kind of got a little momentum going in the taper community. So now where I was the only taper at some shows last year, now we have 3-5 at those.

With any luck, the rumors of his retirement after this tour will turn out to be false. We need good tapes.

This! There are few names that still pop in my head when I see tapers at various concerts around the country. Crumbo is one of those names.
