Keep in mind DMB has nothing scheduled the entire month of August. While it's a long shot, some of these shows could be postponed to August. In the case of Deer Creek, Indiana is a state that could very well have full capacity concerts by August. It must be so difficult for them to not know what to do.

That's a good point. I don't know if they have time to cobble that together, but it's an interesting thought.

I’ve thought that too but venue availability would likely be an issue, ie. Deer Creek is booked at least one Friday/Saturday (if not both) in the month of August. If anything happens, it’ll be in September at the earliest and I would expect an announcement to come in mid-May.

Also, there still hasn’t been any news about ticket information regarding the shows that got added last summer when the postponement announcement came down.

Was listening to an interview with two booking agents on the What podcast last week and they said that basically, every popular small-midsize (clubs & theaters) venue has 9-10 holds per night for the fall. The path we're on it seems like many states will remove all restrictions by August but would a band like DMB actually go out on tour by then? I can understand the clubs and theaters but who knows about sheds. That's gotta be so difficult to make that call. The booking agents mentioned too that so many promoters were burned in 2020 that they're not taking risks of being forced to issue refunds and not booking anything until late 2021/early 2022.

Likelihood of Gorge requiring vaccine verification before entrance? would that be legal?

Or proof of a negative test within a certain time frame. Yes, your ticket is a revocable license.

Stubb's here in Austin is requiring a negative test before entry for Chappelle. So that's already a thing.
I do not see vaccine or test requirements for large sheds. If we're at the point where we still need that, they won't be having shows.

I still don't understand why anyone cares. If you're vaccinated, it's irrelevant to you. If they're not vaccinated, and had the chance to do so and chose not to, it's their ass. Who gives a shit? Let them take the risk. I'll be good and vaccinated. They can knock themselves out for all I care.

I agree with the bold. I've heard strong rumors that the fall festivals, especially those with camping will require either a negative test or vaccination proof before entering. And that I can understand and be more on board with.

Agreed 100%. But this kind of theatrics will exist for probably a couple years anyway. If that’s what I have to do to get into a show, I’d be happy to show them proof of vaccination.

I'm really hoping to see DMB concerts this summer, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're cancelled. If so, I hope we get the option to keep tix bought through the Warehouse again. I won the pit upgrade for Syracuse and I don't want to give that up!!

In a move that honestly really shocks me, NYS is moving forward with the annual Jones Beach Air Show on memorial day weekend, at a 50% capacity. I honestly did not expect this because the air show typically draws so many people that the beaches are swamped, parking lots beyond full, and they typically shut down the roads leading to Jones Beach hours before the show even starts. If nothing else, I think this shows a willingness, especially on the part of NYS, to significantly loosen its restrictions. If we can have large scale outdoor events at a 50% capacity in May (in a state that is generally far more restrictive than others), what does that mean for July and later in the summer?

I get more hopeful everyday. I think that as the vaccination numbers increase (we just did 1.5 million or more over the weekend), that things will be clearer. I'll gladly bring proof of vaccination to go to whatever shows they end up keeping. Just bring them on!

I feel like this summer in most areas events will happen with a policy that fits into 3 categories

    a) limited capacity and everyone must be vaccinated or negative test within 24-48 hours of event (most stringent states)

    b) full capacity and everyone must be vaccinated or negative test within 24-48 hours of event (middle of the road states)

    c) full capacity with no restrictions other than a notice saying they aren't responsible for your health let's party like it's 2019 (Florida and much of the south)

It will be interesting to see what acts play in what areas or if these policies in certain states make shows cost prohibitive. But I really feel like in my state summer will be 2019 normal for the most part.

I said it a long way back but I'm part of LiveNation's focus groups. We regularly get sent surveys and maybe 1-1.5 months ago I got a survey asking about my willingness to take a covid test on-site. Assuming they're making a big push to reopen ASAP with full capacity.

With the way things are trending, come June-July, I'd be more than willing to attend an event where proof of vaccination or negative COVID test. Feel like the only people who'd have a problem with those are those who refuse to get a vaccine.

And really, screw them if they refuse....It is your right to refuse the vaccine, but attending a concert is not a right guaranteed to you either....get ready for public outbursts/meltdowns over this. I bet we see it at every venue, at every show over something...If it's not entry policy, it will be mask policy or distancing. Some drunk dancing too close to someone in the law, etc. The people watching will be excellent.

I don't even care if they go. I'll be vaccinated. If they're not and they're risking it, it won't be effecting me. I don't see any reason for a venue to waste the money testing or checking. Honestly think i'd be more annoyed if there were giant lines to check vaccinations. If vaccines are readily available, and someone goes to a concert without getting vaccinated - it's on them. If I'm there, I'll be vaccinated and won't be worried about it one bit.

Life is Beautiful festival announced their lineup a few days ago and tickets are all sold out already. Scheduled to run Sept 17-19 in Las Vegas.

    https://lifeisbeautiful.com/

Maybe DMB will plan a couple one off events in the fall in warmer weather locations.

I'm optimistic something is happening this year. I have Deer Creek tickets, so I'm not optimistic about that happening in June, but we are trending in the right direction. And Live Nation wants to get make that money. Now DMB may opt out of reduced capacity in the summer, but I feel like something will happen in 2021. Then I'm loading up on 2022.

Obviously hoping for more than just the Gorge, but I do believe that the concerts post-august break will be the first ones. Gorge will be a vaccine required entrance requirement, and the tour will continue from there.

If this happens, Dave will add more popular shows, DC, Alpine, SPAC to a fall tour permitting weather.

Before you shit on me, let me have hope. This is reasonable hope.
