Up in the hills, starry night, moon over our heads, and a warm summer breeze coming in. PERFECT DMB night!!!
(I was worried cuz it was a million degrees a few hours before!)
Proudest Monkey-This definitely threw me off. At first I thought eh, but it felt perfect with the overall atmosphere of the venue and I found a new respect for the song.
Satellite- Knew this was coming after PM, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Stay Or Leave-Dave's voice was spot on tonight! What a great song. The crowd surprisingly sang along a bit.
Seven-Packed a high energy punch. Casual fans went NUTS (as did Dave) and I thought it was a great song live!
Crush-YES! One of the songs that truly got me into DMB! This song is fantastic!
Lying In The Hands Of God- It's not rape if you liked it right? So I suppose Jeff Coffin hard f***ed the venue last night. HE BLEW MY MIND!!!
Gravedigger-Beginning was played a little different than what I'm used to, so I was confused at first. Great crowd reaction and one of my favorites.
Sweet Up And Down-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!! Nuff Said...
Funny The Way It Is- Didn't do much for me live. Crowd was lovin it.
Write A Song- WOOT! Fun song live!
You and Me- .....
Stay- ...... lol The ending was fantastic but .......
If I Had It All- WTF?! My jaw literally dropped... I enjoyed the song. I thought of you all when this popped up, trying to imagine Ants reactions
Shake Me Like A Monkey: F*** Me Like A Donkey!!! I did a double take at this
Black Jack: I completely dig this song. Mysterious at parts and energetic. Dave was going crazy up there with his facial expressions and hands and feet. I could tell he was having a good good time...
Lie In Our Graves: Hell Yeah! Time for Boyd to shine!!! (And he did!)
Grey Street: One of my favorite songs. Again, the band was spot on tonight and this version was kick ass. I really enjoyed rashawn and jeffs contributions at the end, especially because it was the set closer.
Baby Blue-Just Dave on Stage in front of thousands of fans. It fits the vulnerability of the song, and he did a fantastic job.
#40 tease- I have no idea what constitutes a full #40, so if someone could clarify for me that'd be great. This was beautiful, and the starry night/moon/breeze made this even better.
Time Bomb- Guy next to me was wanting Watchtower really badly, and when this came on I leaned over to him and was like "You're going to get your Watchtower." he said to me "How do you know?!" And I said "Trust me." LOL
All Along The Watchtower-In an overall unpredictable set, I was happy watchtower was next, cuz i would have felt like a real asshole if the guy next to me got his hopes up for nothing!
Stephan's solo was amazing! Really worked that pedal and the effects had everyone in silence. Boyd tore up the violin and Carter was beastin the drum set. DAVES VOICE WAS OFF THE HOOK HERE!!! People were goin crazy, and I realized, "I just enjoyed the f*** out of the Bombtower encore."
Overall: Unpredictable setlist, Boyd was amazing, Tim left the planet shortly after to slumber in his own galaxy, Carter was a beast, Dave was Dave, Rashawn was skinny!!!(Fool lost alot of weight since last time I saw him!) Jeff was arrested for raping the audiences ears with beautiful music.
DMB is the best! And I can't wait until this Saturday at Shoreline where I will bring my brother to his first DMB show!
