Hey All,

New poster here who is praying to the gods that they'll return to Alpine next summer. IF they do go on a spring/summer tour, would you guys say its a lock they return there?

I'd say it's just below a lock. Certainly possible that they do Wrigley or Northerly Island - but I'm praying for Alpine as well.

I'd say if Alpine is booking shows next Summer, I'd be surprised if DMB wasn't there.

I would go as far as to say that Alpine will only be open if they get a verbal commitment from DMB. They really are one of the only big draws that come through their anymore.

it would be better if it was a dozen or so shows in april for the album support tour (like fall/winter 2012) and then a full summer tour where the new songs are mixed into normal rotation so they don't get overplayed and worn out before they're even a year old like what happened with BW.

Jimmy Buffet and Dead & Co are the 2 other top draws I think think of. But I will be disappointed if Alpine closes for good.

Based on the direct quotes from Live Nation in previous articles from a few months ago, this will not be happening.

And they’ve been renovating the venue, so there’s no reason to close if they’re putting money into it.

I would imagine with Mexico it’s less likely now that there’s a west coast D&T show.

I would assume they will add a show or two before Mexico as there rehearsals before... I am guessing maybe shows in Cali or Texas again

Yeah if Dave and Tim don't play together until Mexico, I could see them playing 2 shows somewhere the weekend before Mexico as a warm up

The beginning of this thread mentions the 2 "Dreaming Tree Wines" shows will be "out west".

ie Houston and Dallas last year right before Mexico

my favorite ones of the Dreaming Tree Wines shows have been:

1. New Orleans
2. United Palace Theater in NYC
3. Oakland

Unsubstantiated stuff will start trickling in around late October and ramp up a bit in November. The good stuff usually comes between mid December and mid January. The real good stuff, a week or two before the announcement, which as of late has been in early January.

This is great news. I've been waiting for somebody with info, possibly a local, with news to report. Never heard any signs of life after hearing of possible improvements for the venue.

I would be shocked if DMB is not there assuming they open for 2018

May is spring.

Technically... yes May is spring. But their summer tours have basically always started in May.

If Carter meant what he said that they are touring in the spring, he most likely means April.... see 2009.
