Totally forgot they gave it a 4 minute epic intro . Once it actually starts, this video is essentially people talking with some music playing in the background

The best part about Spaceman is the 9 second Tim Solo at the end that signifies that a better song should be coming soon....even if it IS Cornbread. At least people will actually cheer.

Right the song length is key, which is why I can stomach a You and Meh or Shake Meh but a Spaceman, Subpar Proudest Monkey, or the old 15 minute Mercy (pre buddy) were brutal.

Another fun fact: I was in the Camden Pit, which was an absolute shit show, in 2014. They opened the electric set with Spaceman and you could hear a pin drop.

It's a 0/10, which is an exclusive list for me. Spaceman and Plastic Girl are my only 0/10's. Plastic Girl being killed quickly makes it the second worst.

i was in the camden pit too. i dont think there has ever been a bigger disappointment to a show starting. everybody was so amped up and then....that. the dreamgirl opener in 2013 close, but spaceman was the most deflating opener i've seen.

i think another problem with it (and i have this issue with LITHOG too) is just the tone of the song at the beginning. its not quite slow, like a LLD or DaD, but its not upbeat either, and the music itself is kind of a downer. i feel like it falls too much. its like a musical sigh and its hard to get excited for it.

My first ever Pit experience and I was massively disappointed. People pushing and shoving all night. Really drunk people getting a little rowdy. This 5 song run to start the electric set.

The set did get better, but I remember being so annoyed and just wanting to leave.

Write a Song is also another song I absolutely cannot stand, so I wasn't happy. It seems to follow me.

I find fonz to be rated correctly by the greater music community. Competent but uninspired as a general rule. His solos are like finger exercises with pedals. No feel, no soul. He’s clearly the weak link on that stage at this point in time. But he’s solid and knows everything inside and out, so here they are.

But if he had to try out today, he doesn’t measure up to the talent they draw now. I think that some like to cut him down because he acts the belligerent d-bag on social media. But that doesn’t make him overrated. (Not that I am saying this is what Dolan is saying what he is, just an observation that being the most aggressive member of the band with critical fans doesn’t endear one with said fans)

Stefan has absolutely gone out of his way to improve every single year. He said so himself he practices things he’d never do with DMB. That alone cuts him some slack from me and others.

I can't help but feel the folks that bash Fonz's abilities and contributions to the band know little about music, let alone bass playing.

It's even more obvious on social media when folks let their lack of agreement with his social/political beliefs color their opinion of his musicality.

Because Stefan is so technically and naturally gifted, this does not take away from his music. It does not mean he does not have soul. He's got it and it all seems so effortless for him up there on stage. That's a good thing not a bad thing

DMB isn't a summer band even though they tour in the summer. Their songs are better suited for fall/winter.

I've seen them indoors in fall/winter twice and it wasn't nearly as fun of experience as an outdoor summer DMB show

I'd say BTCS and Some Devil are Fall/Winter albums, but the rest are summer
