The band probably plays average shows at Bristow because they crowds are so fucking lame. The one time I went to Bristow the crowd had zero energy, the sound system was shit and the traffic was brutal. Bristow is a deplorable venue

its a shame because the actual amphitheater is pretty nice in my opinion. It blows merriweather (the closest pavilion to me) out of the water.

I've always been surprised that the band doesn't treat the Bristow gig as a special show since it's the closest they typically play to their hometown. You would figure they would have a lot of family and friends in the house and would really step it up at Bristow.

I feel like I was dumb enough to make this assumption too, again, I am thoroughly disappointed with that set we got (especially after seeing VA beach set)

I get this. Tim is a very different sound than the Butch days. I've still been seeing them each and every year since Tim joined the tour...but I just don't think I enjoy the sound of the shows as much as I used to. I'm more of a fan of the jammy, mellow type sound vs. loud/ electric. I keep coming back hoping it will mellow out, but I'm not sure it will.

Worst crowd I've ever experienced in my 80+ shows.

The bitch in the PIT, who kept fucking with me cause i am tall, and was there before you, you are a piece of shit. You were the most annoying bitch I have EVER met in my entire life. My wife wanted to kick your ass, I told her not to.

Then at the end, the dude who pushed my wife out of the way for a stick.... Good job, you should feel like a man.

Im done with Bristow.

they do. thats what i just cant understand from the band. they have lots of family and friends there. they all usually sit in the first few rows of 101. a few years back i shot the shit with carter's family, so i know they always have their folks there. and the nissan setlists are always subpar. im sorry but "busting out" WWYS and Satellite for those old friends is bull shit.

the one thing i don't understand is, the way the show ended was one of my favorite show endings in 31 shows. but do you really need to play the 4 new songs (especially since crush was nixed and gaucho was added), AND spaceman>cornbread? I have NOTHING against cornbread as it's a great energy piece, but c'mon. Ballsy enough to do Warehouse>Grey st and then stink it up opening through mid set? i don't buy it

Sorry we missed the Ants tailgate, went by the entrance early and they sheep hearded us down past the lots. We ended up parking in F2 which was a big ol' F U to us I don't think we could have walked any further.

We did meet Jeff Coffin after the show........................well the look alike in the pit anyways. lol Dude was awesome.

ok so we were pretty much all in the same area.

yeah the two tools came down and just set up shop in front of you guys and that couple. now granted there was no excuse for what happened, but the wife was totally egging these douche bags on. her husband wanted nothing to do with them, but she kept telling them to shut their mouths if they were gonna stay. shit went off when they pushed the woman, then he pushed back, shorter tool bag guy shoved the older guy (not that old), in the face, he knocked his own girl over, which then knocked me back into my girl.

then they just rained some blows on this guy, knocked him down. some big guy a few rows back held the short guy back, and i picked up the guy who got knocked out.

they ended up leaving. the knocked out guy was CLEARLY out of it. but stayed in the pitt. terrible idea when you've just been knocked out AND drinking all day. about 20 minutes later, i turned around and the knocked out guy was laying over his girl. from what i was told, he fainted/passed out, and brought her down with him. thats what they decided to leave.

to those who said that the same guys who knocked him out in the first place were performing CPR on her, no....way.

anyway, there you go. ruined the flow of the show for sure.

edit: was anyone here teh guys basically standing next to me, with a blue shirt and had his girl with him..short blonde? we both commented at one point how we saw that fight happening a mile away.

^^This. We had a great time overall. Autumn mentioned to me that a few of the songs just put a drag on the atmosphere, but in the end we had a great time (minus the one or two or 10 pit pushers...one lady using her kid in particular

Edit...bummed as well that VaBeach got Gary Clark Jr onstage during Can't Stop..

The poster for this show was perfect -- the person has all their suitcases on their car because they want to travel ANYWHERE ELSE TO SEE DMB. ugh. I hate Jiffy Lube Live with a passion. It is atrocious. I am so sad that it's my hometown show. That said, I'm sad I missed out on getting that poster because I have a Bug and it would have been totally awesome to have on my wall

I said this in my review, but I feel like I liked this show more because I was in the pit than I would have if I had a seat. The setlist was sooooo mellow. The energy in the crowd around me made me much happier though... I know how crappy the crowds typically are in this area but I got to ignore them this time because I was up close and personal!!! If there was anyone near me, I was the short chubby brunette just slightly left of center three people back with the tall Indian dude... I don't know what I got into that night that gave me major chutzpah but I got pretty feisty with a couple of broads trying to push their way to the front before and during the show. And I only had one beer!
