They definitely run shuttles from different parts of town. I think there is like a $15 per person charge though. We've never taken that and always just park in the neighborhood near the track. Plenty of people selling spots on their lawn for $20-$50. We always park at a school about 3 blocks away for $20, money goes to the school.

Happy we'll get to see Lake Street Dive as well, just wish it was Rhiannon Giddons instead.

I saw Lake Street Dive last year at Radio City. They were really good. The lineup this day is tempting, but I don't want to drive 6 hours to Nola for a 1.5 hour D&T set. Other acts are tempting, but I'd really want to see Wilco and that is at the same time.

If you've never been to the festival I highly recommend it. Day passes are cheap relative to other music festivals and the food is outstanding.

I still haven't finished the last season. Not sure if the format didn't draw me in or if I subconsciously wanted to hold on to some never-been-seen episodes. Only watched 4 or 5. Maybe I fix that this weekend.

the last season meaning the 3rd of when they brought it back? when they brought it back it was overdone but the first 3 seasons are gold

I have never been and it sounds like a good time, but I'm likely going to spend the money / vacation days to travel to one of the two nighters in June.

Any Cub fans making the trip? Found out the New Orleans Baby Cakes are hosting the Iowa Cubs (AAA) that Thursday and Friday at Zephyr Field in Metairie. Definitely looking at the Thursday game if the weather looks good.

Don't bother. Seriously. It was absolutely terrible. people like to defend it by saying "well it was just a new format"...right...which doesn't work. what made Arrested Development so good was the original format and the ensemble. They should have waited until they could get everyone together and really put a full effort into it. The jokes were too forced and over the top, whereas the original seasons were subtle, dry and sometimes missed. Which made it such a rewatchable show. I could go on haha.

Anyway...anyone know if this will be aired online or on TV? I think a portion of it was aired on AXS in 2012.

AXS has broadcast it the last several years, but I haven't seen anything confirming this year.

I went Friday/Sat last weekend and had a good time but Saturday was packed. It could have been because of the rain threat for Sunday or maybe it is always that crowded and Friday is an off day due to work for locals. We did the fest shuttle from the Sheraton on Canal and it was worth the $20/person. They have their own entrance and traffic wasn't much of an issue on either day. Lots of buses waiting at the end of the fest and they just keep running them until everyone is picked up (least that's what they said). Bring cash!! I saw one beer guy taking cards and that was it. Hopefully it is not windy this weekend. The wind was so bad on Saturday we couldn't here Amos Lee from where we were at the back of the stage area. Friday we could walk to any stage and get a good spot, Saturday people posted up at one stage all day it seemed. It was a good time and we will be back, schedule just didn't work to go this weekend.

    Well that was amazing.

My wife and our friends died when Jimmy Buffet came out.
    What a fuckin treat.

#41 in the sky writing was pretty cool. Dave was really into each song. Good stuff.

Agreed on amazing especially Buffett. He stayed and watched the rest of the set on the side of the stage. He may have been there the whole time though. Cool to see Rashawn guest on a few songs as well.

First jazz fest experience and will definitely be back. Such a different atmosphere from all the other festivals I've been to.

Fab show! Anyone else but me don't think jimmy buffet is that great? I mean itnwas cool because it was rare but people flip out over him and I don't get. Sorry. Was a great experience to see jazzfest! What dave said about New Orleans being unique creative and resilient was eloquent and very true.

Jimmy kinda claims the whole Gulf coast as his home so he's kinda considered a local at Jazzfest. Good drinking music when it's hot. I loved it and instantly wished I had drank 6 beers.

Pretty good short set. Warehouse, Two Step, LIOG, Ants and WWYS. It was good to hear RR on a few songs too.
Some of the best weather we've had at the festival too.

Edit: plus Crush! So we didn't get gypped out of any big songs for a festival set
