So i'll be in Seattle April 30 - May 5th (a couple of those days are solo). What are the must dos/sees? I have been once (12+ years ago). Plan on going to a baseball game, but thats about it so far. I'm staying at the Sheraton Downtown hotel and will not have a rental, so public transportation/walking/uber will be my mods of transportation. I'm interested in:

-Museums
-Brewerys
-Parks
-Ocean/Whale watching tour
-Restuarants

We just went for a rate that sounds reasonable and jumped on it for flights back and forth from Boston

just keep your eye on it. all the target month stuff is filled with so many caveats and exceptions that it's essentially useless. keep looking at it and waiting it out. southwest runs specials all the time, particularly closer to the dates of travel. early to mid summer is when I'd really start to look hard for sales, but just look every couple of days until then in case something good comes along.

Yeah, they have spiked a lot. They do this every year. In 2014, 2015 and 2016 we bought our flights in May, all costing around $300-325 round trip Detroit or Buffalo.

routes will almost assuredly not change at all. however, sometimes with SW in particular, you can create itineraries that don't show up in SW searches b/c of their internal computer logic. there are pitfalls to doing that but it's always worked out for me. if you're flexible at when you leave you can also create open jaw itineraries that work as well.

You'd think they could handle what probably every other ticket website does in reserving tickets once they are in your cart.

Oh well, I guess I should expect this from the WH at this point.
